Denver Parks hires most rangers ever to address rule violations this summer

- Park rangers are working to onboard the department's newest recruits, growing their ranks just as the weather gets warmer and more people - of all backgrounds - start utilizing Denver’s parks more.
Those Park Rangers need to carry handcuffs and at least tasers! What if they get attacked? What are they going to defend themselves with? Pepper spray is not going to do everything!
They are armed with 9mm pistols. Well at least some of them.
Some Rangers have full peace officer powers or some are just code enforcement.
Looking like a cop without the tools in Denver might be the most dangerous job in the city.

"Address rule violations" really means write tickets for a viable revenue stream.
@ Sea Mac lol I don't think the homeless can afford to pay a fine and if they did have money it would probably be spent on something besides fines.
It's nothing but another cash grab.
These rangers look like losers. They're not even required to wear uniforms!? Makes me want to pitch a tent downtown just so I can tell them off. Denver has gone straight down the crapper.

Agreed they look like clowns. First rule of law and order is an authoritative presence ( black uniforms, guns, cuffs). I'd laugh if these guys came around

In all honesty I'd rather see homeless people instead of dogs at the park.

@Arceneaux100 I'm a grown man. Who the hell gets beat up by a homeless person or a drug addict 😂😂. I would obliterate them. It's crazy how when I lived in houston nobody was afraid at all of this growing up but out here on the west half of the US yall are terrified of homeless people? Why? Just push em out the way
Park rangers just got new cars too!! Good to see the off leash tickets going to the rangers themselves instead of fixing the park - ya know.. the whole point of the ticket?? Oh and we're still not doing anything about the homeless sleeping in the playground..... this is pathetic
