And how to play drums sounds of the RD6 with an external master ? are they linked with midi notes - playable via midi din cable -?
Little tip: The Roland TR-505 manual (free download from the Roland site) has a section at the end with visuals of the different built in patterns and blank pattern templates. You can print up a few templates and use them to draw up your own patterns before inputting them onto the RD-6. Useful with complex patterns so as to not get lost.
This is the best tutorial in UA-cam, the intro explanation for midi chanel in and out save my life , thanks

very nice
When I press the Scale function key and turn the tempo, it changes the tempo. Cant seem to make it change the OH decay at all? Is this only available in midi / external sync? Update: its only available in a firmware update.... Answered my own question. Hope this helps someone else.... Who also cant be arsed to update it before playing with it.
Great video, really in depth unlike the manual
That yellow RD6 sure looks better than my red one! Haha Great stuff by the way, keep that content coming brother. I'll get you a coffee when I get paid! 😂
I like the red one, it's a nice red. Don't worry brother, coffee or no coffee you like and comment is more than enough :)
I personally love how the transparent ones look, though its kinda early 2000s nostalgia for cheap electronics
Hi, thanks so much for this video. I just picked up the RD-6 to go with my TD-3 and the Donner B1, but I really know nothing about how to connect them all together. So I can follow this video to sync the RD-6 to one of them with midi. My question is, what about the 1/8" mini-plug sync in/out connections? Which, in general, is better to use, midi or sync? Also, if I'm hooking up all 3, can I just daisy chain using sync cables from the RD-6 to the TD-3, then on to the B1, using appropriate sync outs/ins? Thanks for some help here, am subscribed!!
Thanks for the info. I bought a Behringer RD 6 SR, I need some advice about a percussion drum machine to
combine with it, or a drum machine and percussion in one. All i am finding are synths. Respect

Does ‘function tempo’ also change decay of snare or bass drum? If so that would make so much sense.
This is brilliant, do you have one for the TD3? Thank you!
Thanks !! Yes, check the synth tutorials on the channel homepage..
Great video. Can the RD6 sync to and run the vintage TB303? The RD6 can send 24ppqn, but my TB303 needs it to be sent over Din Sync. Do I just need a TRS to 5 pin Din Sync converter cable? Do you think that will work? Thanks
I like great job.
can you make a video of the td3 mo?
Thanks !!! I would love to, if I get one I will for sure. But Behringer is not shipping that one to my country so is getting a little bit difficult to get.
Hello again, please, I need your advice. If I want to use the trigger out function, where am I supposed to connect a cable into my novation bass station 2 or microkorg. There is no gate input. Is it even possible? Thank you in advance ❤
Thanks for this detailed video, as you know how! ;)
I'm hesitating between the Behringer RD-6 and the Korg Volca Drums, I'd love to know your opinion on the subject? Thanks
Oh...they are completely different. The drums are great, but since the DRUM uses a synth engine that you need to tweak, it takes more time to dial something. With the RD6, you start playing and that is it. The DRUM is great if you want unconventional drum sounds and you are ready to do some tweaking.
Hi! Thank you so much for your guide, your tutorials are awesome! one question, I can't get the OH decay working. I am having the write pattern mode and I made sure the function button works but when I hold it while changing the tempo wheel it just applies tempo rather than the decay. I wonder if I have a malfunction or if there is anything else that I am missing.
Thank you!
You need to update to the latest firmware to make that work buddy
24:30 Wow, never heard of that OH decay setting, where did you find that ?
Hey All - I have the RD6 starting patterns from Logic but the RD6 fires out MIDI notes from pattern and triggering active track in Logic. How do we stop this?
concerning the use of the rd-6 trigger output, the manual specifies that it is a 15V signal. did you check it was ok to input such voltage into your GS APOLLO (which indeed looks fantastic) ? because I'm not to try this with my synths without adding a voltage divider to get a 5V max value instead...
Hey do you know if the RD6 can be controlled by an external sequencer from a daw? I was trying to figure out how to but I came up with nothing… thanks
How do you make a pattern play say 4 bars then play another patern x amount of bars ?
Great video. The original designers really put an effort into this. Okay one question, does this play a 3rd variation of the OH/CH when both are triggered on the same step? I believe thats the original 606 behaviour. Also does the CH "end" an ongoing OH?
Yes, you get a 3rd variation when OH/CH are triggered at the same time. No, a CH doesn't end OH, it just get shorter. I have no idea about the possibility to adjust the decay of OH and CY. Going to to try how that works together with OH/CH triggered at the same time!
I only hear it through one speaker (via mixer) I don't know what cable to use to hear it stereo.
Can it play one pattern four bars then chain to another pattern?
How could I pair it with a mixing table?
Why doesn't mine have Sweep Erase? is it part of a new firmware?
How do I get my windows 10 to recognize my RD-6? How do I get Reaper to recognize it as well? I get no sound accept the startup sound.I'm using usb.
Is there a way to do a Factory Reset on this unit?? I can’t seem to find any information on how to do one. UPDATE TO MY QUESTION: Never mind, I forgot with Behringer Synths you use their SynthTribe Application to do Updates and Factory Resets
Is it normal for the knobs to be hard when turning them?
I just got one of these yesterday... two things I can't figure out; I'm using Ableton to send MIDI; how do I get the accents? I think the TD-3 utilizes the velocity in Ableton's midi clips to achieve the accents... it doesn't seem to be the case with the RD-6... twisting the accent knob seems to reveal that everything has an accent on it by default (???) Anyone know? Problem two... when my midi clip repeats the sounds are audibly different... almost as if there are accents on notes at the start of the midi clip (though turning the accent knob down does not resolve the issue). The midi clip repeating can be hear every single time; to make it seamless I would need to consolidate the clip into one long continuous clip and then edit out the first hit. One thing I learned is there is a difference between using the MIDI cable and the USB cable to send midi... when i add distortion in ableton I can hear a loud hissing noise in the signal when connected via USB... when connected via MIDI cable the signal comes in clean even with the same distortion.
