Really like the slight changes to mechanics, like how crumble blocks behaves, captures the feel of Marios Mini Mushroom very well.

Holy shit, this hack makes me REALLY want to see a game with a character this size, and ultra huge environments, but make it brutally difficult (as monsters are several times your size and could crush you easily).
Can you imagine, how terrifying Kraid would be at that tiny size? Sheesh

I like Vanilla SM but with major changes like this that makes you do different things etc.
The fast food talk is always fun over location arguments. McDonalds is always accurate as far as what you expect, but Subway where I am is legit amazing and I have never had a bad pickle or anything. The worse I have had was a tomato that was not ripe enough for my liking and the bread is real bread.
I would love to see them add this into the randomizer community. Or at least the speed run racing community.

that crap about subway, if they are poor food quality like that pickle then that shit just happens at that subway store, no way every subway will have a rotten pickle not like they are trying to do that.
theres thing called food standards and it changes per area per country so in USA their fast food will have poor standards because you americans will settle for crap, but in japan subway their standards are way higher so they wouldnt settle for that crap.
i hate it when people shit on fast food then say its the same shit in every location in every country, in 1 subway its a bad pickle, in a different subway in a different state does a better job so none of their food is bad, a subway in uk would cost more but all the food they sell is at its best standards.
Looking at the way both the sprite and hitbox were scaled, alongside the croc glitch, yeah this hack is clearly using mode 7. The scaled down Samus must be on the same layer as croc, so when he slides down, Samus gets slid with him and all the collision and out of bounds errors start.
Except that Mode 7 doesn't scale sprites.
It's possible this hack uses sprite scaling offered by the SuperFX chip (1 or 2), but what's much more likely, since it's less work, is that this is just a custom sprite where all the poses were pre-shrunk in something like photoshop.

Grow some Chiltepin Peppers, I grew up eating them dried, crushed, and in Menudo and all kinds of soups. Nice flavor, habanero hot but fades quick. Nice lil buzz imho. Lil fuckers are expensive cause they have to be picked by hand. Supposedly the only native pepper in North America. Try it out, usually can find them in the Mexican spice aisle in those lil baggies (idk if this exists in Boston lol.)
Yo. If I walk into my local Subway, and a certain person is working, I will walk directly out. There are some people who make sandwiches all day, and still can't make a fucking sandwich. Oats softlocking himself, then getting better items, and then instead of saving he re-enter the softlock... Deja Vu. There's no hindsight involved here Oats. The he just reset himself to the ship when he just needed to refresh the room. We're only 13 minutes in and this is going a bit poorly.
Oats condescendingly asking which is easier for small sprites or mode 7, but I don't think he has a clue. Both sound like they have their own set of problems, and both sound easy. It's such a fair question to ask. I'm a spriter and programmer, and if you asked me which way I'd do it, I'd go for mode 7.
Ah man that crocomire weirdness was a real shame. Not Oats' fault. He had plenty of chances to save after getting Wave or Speed, but he also had no reason to think he'd fall through the floor there.

But Mode 7 doesn't scale sprites. it scales backgrounds.
You would need to use the SuperFX chip for sprite scaling and that would require a fair amount of ASM work.
The easiest approach is to just use a custom skin where all the poses are pre-shrunk using something like photoshop.

What items wouldn’t you be able to get?
With Main Street Missiles showing you can get through speed blocks for items, I’d think everything is accessible, even easier with the tiny weight on the crumbles in Crumble Tower.
He missed the Missiles in the Sky because he used the normal placement cue and not the smaller hit box of the Tiny Samus, but you’d still be able to get it if you ride the [flying thing].
Of all the variety of ROM Hacks I’ve seen, this is the one that I’m actually thinking about getting myself.
