- A letter from the late Queen Elizabeth II has surfaced which reveals the monarch wanted effective security for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of their move to the US.
This comes despite Prince Harry’s claim he was “forced” to leave Britain after security was downgraded for him and his family.
Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue says the Queen’s former private secretary Sir Edward Young revealed the monarch took the Sussexes’ security “very seriously”.
“She also cited, obviously, the heightened risk that came with Princess Diana,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.
“She said that she did support the Sussexes having round-the-clock security while their status within the Royal Family was being assessed.”
Imagine the Queen saying to them you're either in or you're out, they chose 'out' and are now whinging about their own choice!! It's ridiculous!

@@kellyperry559 I never give to charities for that very reason. I saw a segment on a current affairs program (it was about 30 years ago) just how much they get and how much goes to those in need. The only thing I do is give to the salvos and vinnies (clothes) and I give food for the animal shelter once a fortnight when they’re outside the supermarket collecting. It’s bloody disgusting and I can never figure out why there is never any inquiry done into these organisations.

Years ago I refused to give a penny to Oxfam. The biggest majority of the money donated was taken by Administration. The true people who needed it hardly saw a penny.

The country pays royals to work for the good of the country and they do a pretty good job of it. But you can't walk out of a job, slander your bosses, fellow workers, and family, and expect to keep your job title, position and wage.
These people with high levels of responsibility are worth the money if they work well. Committing treason is not a job description. It is a crime. It doesn't have a wage attached to it. It doesn't come with security. It comes with a long prison sentence actually.

The only members of the royal family that do get 24/7 security are Charles, Camilla, William, Catherine and their children. Princess Anne, Edward and Sophie only have taxpayer funded security when on official royal duties. The other members of the family have to fund their own security.
The Queen said their security would be in place while while their status in the family was being assessed. (or close, not a direct quote). To me this directly implies that they had royal security while they were royal. If they left, it would change. Just my opinion.

24/7 security is only given to the regnant, their heir, and the heirs family.
Othe members of the family only receive security when on royal business.

I don't think Harry and his wife got an invitation to the Duke of Westminster's wedding. Harry's "sources" have said he declined just to allow him to save face. The Duke absolutely abhors publicity and having Harry and his wife at his wedding would create a circus, taking the attention away from his lovely bride and their significant occasion. Besides, why would the Duke give a platform to two individuals who have relentlessly maligned and trashed the King and Queen, his son and wife, and the whole UK? The lack of understanding of human relations exhibited by Harry and his wife is amazing.
