This is great Tom, thanks for the deep dive. Surface based FPV is a blast, but the vibrations without stabilisation makes it almost useless.
Watch out! FPV rc cars are habit forming. I've done a lot of gimbals on cars (all storm32 based) for me they really make the experience more enjoyable.
That's a cool little rig! Your results are very compelling and had me buy the new Avatar GT just to see how it compares to DJI O3. The gimbal looks really cool also. Maybe it won't have the same problems people are seeing with the G-Port.
The gimbal uses a 9axis gyro afaik so shouldn't drift. One of the ws testers is an inav Dev and has already got pull requests ready to implement for maximum tweaking and flexibility
Nice one, lots of tinkering to get right. Where there's a will, there's a way. I build quadcopters normally, n thought I was doing well merely swapping a ESC n remote on an electric skateboard.
You've taken this project to the next level.
No companies making DJI FPV RC cars yet, put your design/patent out there. Haha
Just trying to demonstrate that with some (fairly cheap) off the shelf components we can construct some pretty useful things
Good info! I was wondering about the mipi too as I wanted to test this with a couple different systems, and wasn’t sure how an external mipi would work. Subscribed 🤙
It will be possible for me to replace the internal mipi, but it's not simple. Very fiddly. My gimbal probably isn't working as well as it could be, but it's working well enough
Very interesting project, great job!🤩💥💯😃👍 Subscribed!)😍🤝
Thank you so much 👍
Hi, you did a great job, I thought you used a gimbal servo or two.
Possible with an FC running inav, so the FC gyro can control the servos. But this is easier
@@tmc-fpv I see after Gimbal Cadxx Bro
Why did you not include any FPV Car footage? The end of the video is a big "let Down"
I've uploaded other videos using onboard footage. This video was already long enough and I didn't see any point in rehashing what I had uploaded a few days earlier.
