Ok here’s some rules clarifications and thoughts. I’m so sorry for the long rant, but you guys did ask multiple times to let you know in the comments. 🤭 I hope you don’t get bored along the way and can still muster the courage to read through it. Please let me know if you want me to be less nitpicky but I’m kind of a GH/FH rules nerd. Again, this is not meant to be negative. You guys use whatever rules you want, as long as you enjoy it. Just meant to clarify some things. 00:43 I can 100% confirm you were correct in doing a boat event. It was asked on the forums and Isaac replied that if there is a discrepancy between the scenario flowchart and the scenario book, that the book is correct. Apparently there are some typos on the flowchart. And there is a list of all scenario’s where this is the case (also for sled and climbing gear) in the official FAQ. 22:00 I’m sorry for Kevin but the armor does indeed spend a charge even if the attacked already has disadvantage from another ability like muddle or a ranged attack while being adjacent. As it says on the card: on the next two attacks. It doesn’t matter what the conditions are. I actually can confirm that because I had it happen to me in gloomhaven digital myself and it was also asked and answered on the forums. 23:00 It is indeed both the elite and the normal ones that do poison on that ability. If you’re ever in doubt , you can always quickly turn off calculations in the settings. Then you clearly see that the poison indeed applies to all standees. And then just turn the calculations back on. 23:56 You guys did it correct in the end, but just letting you know that you are not limited by the number of White or yellow plastic feet when spawning monsters, only the amount of monster standees. If you are out of one type of feet, just use some other way of tracking it. But it would idd still be an elite monster even if you are out of yellow ones. You could use some from gloomhaven or jaws of the Lion if you want. This situation has been confirmed by Isaac himself. 43:30 To Answer your question Josh: yes, unfortunately taking the damage from redrawing when short resting takes away the regenerate. ☹️ Any source of damage does. 45:30 When Ethan plays the bottom of Reckless augmentation, it is not rejuvenate (i presume you mean regenerate because thats what you clicked) but in fact the card gives ward (halve damage on next attack). Also, the crude boots only give +1 move, not jump as well. Or maybe I’m missing some other ability that made him jump. But I think I’ve seen this a couple of times already in the previous video’s. I could be wrong. 52:30 I had to look this one up myself, because it seemed weird. But the top of kinetic transfer when going slow makes the attack a ranged attack at range 2. Melee is range 1, so +1 range makes it 2. Could be important for Ethan in the future. This obviously applies to all those types of additions. It’s written in the official FAQ under blinkblade specific and on page 25 of the rulebook: “An attack with no specified range value is considered a melee attack with range 1, capable of targeting adjacent enemies only, unless otherwise stated. For example, if an effect provides “+ Y [Range]” to an attack, it would give the attack with no specified range value “[Range]1 + Y” and make it a ranged attack. 55:40 those wavethrowers would all still spawn one water hex, even if they can only spawn one more Lightning eel. The water hexes spawning is independent from the eel summoning. And it even states in the FAQ, that when you run out of water Tiles, they still spawn them. This would eventually create a viable path for the eels. Quote FAQ:“Lurker Wavethrower: If we run out of water tiles, can the Wavethrower make more? Yes. Overlay tiles are not supposed to be component-limited. Use a proxy tile” 1:00:00 When those wavethrowers attack your skeletons, due to your putrid cloud card being active, they should get a poison every time they attack them, even if they draw a crit fail, because it still counts as them being attacked. So both of those should have gotten poison after their attack. And if they attack when already poisoned, they would suffer 1 damage with every attack. In hindsight, you forgot that mechanic multiple times with those clawcrushers. They would have gotten one damage every time they attacked your skeletons, and would have died a lot faster. This is actually one of the most damaging abilities given how many summons you have out. Edit: oh I see you figured it out a bit later with those 2 wavethrowers. 😉👍, but you did forget to apply their one damage the turn after that when they did the cluster attack on your skeletons. 😂 You also forgot to apply it many times later on with the eels as well. You’re missing out on a lot of damage dealt from that ability. 1:03:50 In response to Ethan’s question to let you know in the comments: when you do a cluster attack, only the targets that are in line of sight within that cluster would take the damage. They can still target the cluster, but only damage the heroes in that cluster that they actually have line of sight to. “Page 22 of the rulebook, under area of effect: only one hex needs to be within the ability’s range, this hex does not even need to contain a figure. But only figures within line-of-sight within that cluster can be targeted.” 1:05:00 You realized your skeletons were immobilised so you undid all their attacks and movement, but you forgot to undo the fact that your skeleton picked up that loot token. You sneaky bastard Josh. 😜😂 1:28:40 You realized you switched the numbers on the eels and the first one actually attacked your summons for 3 damage, but you forgot to apply the damage to your summon. And consequently also forgot to poison the eel for attacking your summon. And few seconds later the poison on eel number 6 is forgotten as well, since he also attacked your summon. 1:33:44 Your summons have to act in the order they were summoned, that’s why the x-haven assistant also puts them in those order. So the corpse would indeed have to act first and your wraith second, like you did it originally. (Page 31 of the rulebook). I noticed Ethan actually mentioned this half a minute later. Sorry Ethan: F me I guess. 🤣🤣 1:45:15 Linked hexes like the stair hex and the ones on the new map tile are considered adjacent for the purposes of moving and finding focus, but you can not trace line-of-sight through them when doing a ranged attack. So Ethan would not have entered the new map tile I think because it would cost him an extra movement point to enter it, since they are adjacent. And hence would not have been attacked by those lurkers. However that would have mean they would have attacked the ship and created a lot of water tiles, like you found out later in the purple text of the scenario book. This also means that Kevin would not have been able to javelin them through the door later on. 1:56:05 The immobilize status on your summons will indeed disappear at the end of their turn. So you could in fact move them with your cards since the effect lasts until the end of that figure’s next turn. And it would wear off at the end of your summon’s turn. I always played this wrong myself. I researched it just now to figure it out for you guys and learned a new rule myself! Thx for that. So you guys played it correctly. 👍 What a rough scenario guys!! This one is a seriously difficult one. You did quite well considering the unlucky draws of some of those monsters abilities. I think that you did miss out on a lot of damage due to that putrid cloud ability, especially with those shielded clawcrushers. They would have rapidly killed themselves because of attacking the Boneshapers summons. You applied the poison a lot of the times, but you forget that they always suffer one damage when they are already poisoned and attack a summon again. And with those clawcrushers doing target 2 every time…. If you can play it out so they double attack your summons, they will go down fast. Maybe something to consider on the following try. However that extra rule in the last room with the monsters attacking the ship and the extra fail condition, that will make this scenario even harder. It’s been a blast to watch, and looking forward to the next one. Good luck guys! You can do it!!!
Hey guys, so glad to see you all back for the Frosthaven campaign. I watched your entire gloomhaven campaign back in the days, and I’m rapidly catching up with this one. I’m a gloomhaven veteran myself and played through múltiple campaigns and forgotten circles. We use x-haven assistant as well. It’s is awesome. I don’t know how you guys prefer to do it. I use the option of random standees in the settings. And if you want, you can just click the White box with the hashtag at the bottom whenever you open a new room, and then the app automatically spawns all the new monsters and bosses and objectives and allies for that room. Saves a lot of work. Just something to think about if you are interested. I know you guys like to track the hp and xp on the dials, but is there an option to keep it up to date on the app as well, just so the viewers can follow the progres as well? Once I’m up to date with the episodes I’ll try to keep an eye on the rules more. But in the end, even if there are mistakes made, that doesn’t matter. As long as you guys enjoy the playthroughs. Which you clearly do, as well as the people watching you. 😂 Frosthaven is definitely a step forward from gloomhaven in my opinion, and I already loved gloomhaven. Keep up the entertainment and looking forward to the next one. And in the Words of Ethan: PEACE!!!✌️
Ouch. You guys had some rough luck with the wavethrower ability card draws on the deck. Only one of my play groups has done this one so far, and after our win, we had to admit to one another that we were very, very lucky that we didn't get those summon ability card draws.
another rule correction @55.50 you placed the last eel with a white based even tho it should have been an elite, page 44 of the rules say if no based of the right colour place them without a base
Hey I'm way behind but catching up!
Glad you're still making these :) I love good Frosthaven videos.

Thanks! My personal life has been a shit show so we haven't posted any videos in the last couple weeks, but more are coming I promise!
well you seem to be picking all the pain ones to do
