In most superman media Jonathon Kent is still alive long after Clark has become Superman. In comics, tv shows, cartoons, almost everything he’s alive but Superman the movie killed him off early so many just assume that Jonathon has to die like uncle Ben did. It’s not true
I loved that show growing up in the 90s it what got me into superman, his parents were good in it (the ep with the space rats was a good example) so was the guy who played perry, (lane smith i think he was) his parents also showed up in the justice league cartoons as well cus i remember that martian manhunter spent Christmas with them and clark
Something I want to point out since pagey did you use Mina steel as a reference point. Is technically it could also makes sense for Jonathan Kent to be alive. Cause they never actually given age range in man of steel but in that movie Clark looks like he is a adult at that point when his father died again, I don’t remember them ever giving what age she was but he did look like a adult. The only time I’ve actually remember seeing. Saint Clark as a teenager when his father died, was in Christopher Reeve‘s superman. And Superman and Lois suggest in my opinion nothing says he has to be a child when his father dies.
Jon Kent being dead before Clark becomes Superman is tired, post Crisis he was alive for years in the comics while Clark was active, the only time we've seen him alive in live action after Clark becomes Superman is Lois and Clark and it's past time to do it again. He doesn't need to die to teach Clark the obvious lesson of his not being able to save everyone.

Exactly👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Martha Kent has already been cast. The actress portraying that role will be Neva Howell
Pa Kent was alive in the New Adventures of Super-Man
what about Superman the Animated Series, and the comics, and Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and the Death of Superman animated movie?

Hopefully pa kent stays around for a while ,and doesnt die in the first movie like has been the case in previous superman film.
I always preferred the Superman comics in which both Ma and Pa Kent were alive and in a healthy old age.
In many comics Pa Kent is alive when Clark is Superman.
I am just now very excited

Peace Maker was rubbish just like the pathetic eeboot if the Suicide Squad
Like the idea that pa Kent is alive in present day when Clark is Superman. And give him advice and stuff when he is an adult
Pa Kent might be alive instead of Ma Kent.
