When Optimus said "No matter the cost..." I had PTSD flashbacks of the famous movie scene "Megatron must be stopped...No matter the cost..."
Optimus Prime is such a compelling character. If he was a human he could be a saint.
Megatron has certain abilities in certain traits:
Robot Mode: Dash, flight, melee, and ground pound.
Tank mode: drift bash, super energy blast, super ground pound, and super dash.
Powers: creates gravity cluster ball and elements: fire, lightning, and ice.
Weapons: fusion cannon: energy blast, energy grenades, and super laser.
Energon made: smash and bash.

I love how they referenced the final blow given by Optimus in the 86 movie. This game does transformers more justice than Michael bay
Every other Transformers media does more justice to the licence than the Bay saga ! x)

they did make this after MGRR so i guess they did that because they found it as a good fighting thing
I'm not gonna lie, I'm thinking the ending is hinting towards a sequel game. Perhaps Nova Prime'll be the final boss? And Combiners will be a thing? They hinted towards Optimus Maximus before they cut to Nova Prime.

I think my main complante with this game is you fight him FIVE TIMES
You fight him three times in the first frecking chapter of the game and two times in the final battle!
If Megatron was fought once in the final chapter this would had been an awsome battle betwen hero and villan.

Oh wow, they really just straight up copied Man of Steel for this. Villain from the same doomed planet as the protagonist, willing to sacrifice Earth so their race can live again, protagonist vows to put natives ahead, villain laments that they could have made a glorious new age if they worked together.
Damn though, Megatron was always just a plain old power hungry megalomaniac. What's with trying to make him a misguided sympathetic soul?

There was a time when he fought for equality for the Transformer in a rather oppressive and restrictive society. Unfortunately, he lost his way and became the bot he is today.
The original series' backstory of him and the Deceptacons was literally "Megatron was the first transformer to fly, gathered a bunch of others who could fly, started power tripping and declared a robot Darwinism jihad on the weak."
@@dorpth This game takes some elements from IDW Transformers comics, that's why it can feel different from the original show at some moments.
dorpth afaik the “the end justify the means” “well intentioned” Megatron who’s willing to sacrifice everything to save his planet was portrayed before this game. And IMHO this is a much more interesting and better Megatron than the old typical tyrant.
