I've met him once with my late dad, I was only about 15, I'm only 27 now but my dad brought me up on level 42, we waited outside a gig for about an hour and a half, and he was a bit drunk from the after party but he was so lovely, I'd love to meet him again and tell him how much I appreciate that memory and how his music has gotten me through losing my dad, I even played leaving me now at his funeral, love you, king of bass ❤️
Mark is such a down to earth and relatable guy. I met him in 2009 and although I was starstruck, he just carried on a normal conversation with me about medium scale basses and string size.
Such a legend, I started playing bass in the mid to late 80's because of mark king, had the privilege of meeting him in 2000, he signed my jaydee, genuinely as decent and down to earth as everyone says he is, incredible bass player, incredible man, just recently started playing bass a bit more after a few years off, he's still my main source of inspiration thirty years later, great you got a chance to meet him, thanks for sharing
The reason i had the bass made for me was on the recommendation of a friend who did the sound for this gig and also a friend of JJ B that the Shuker Bass was something the have . Mark King seemed to like it too
If I Would met Mark, I really don't know would i do..... Only give him thanks to make feel with his music hope and calm and get strange thoughts out of me. He's more than a musician and a man for me. Sometimes when a felt so upset he was my reason to continue fighting.... I think I'd hokd him and just like to kiss my front.... With all my respect.... Montse Martinez from Bcn Spain..❤
He appeared in my home city just as a tourist years back and was recognised by a few people who he stood around and signed Autographs and then they let him be. A very humble lovely man by all accounts
I met the band at demonfort hall Leicester. My wife bought us VIP tickets and when I shook Mark's hand I said "It's like meeting God"! He's great. Mike is too the whole band are solid, real blokes.
I really don't know how Mark king does it ..repeatedly asked the same questions giving the same answer we all are so fond of ... but the repetition of it all ..plus playing the same lines for 35yrs is beyond me ... not the worst sentence by far lol but still ... phew ..so consistent without breaking character . same as any other job in that respect I guess . level 42 . Deep in my soul 4 ever.
Hi Steve . It was on the lines of " when I went to primary school if you were left handed you were told it was wrong and to make yourself become right handed ) .
@@robbiesampson5399 Such a shame that left was identified with the devil and it was taught in curch to use the right hand because it was the proper way....so happy all this rubbish is gone and left way behind.
A lovely guy isn’t he. I’ve met him 7 times and he’s always been so kind to me.
You lucky sod that's not fair

Never knew mr. King is left handed!
I'm so crazy I might start playing bass now at age 61 because of the good vibes I get from listening to

Mark was also so kind to sign my alembic when they were in pittsburg. Super friendly gentleman! Will never forget it
The bass just went up 10 times the price he paid for it with Mark signing it
Met Mark just once around 1987. Also hung out with Jon Shuker at a Stranglers gig years ago. Good guys!

5 string is the best! I would let him sign my custom bass on both sides, too! Awesome bass!!
Saw them in Hamburg years ago. What a night!
I wish he’d signed my old beloved JayDee classic.
Mark’s signed 3 or 4 of my basses. Top bloke!
Such a nice guy.

Very Nice!
his brother Nathan is an in credible bass player too.
Heavy breathing going on. :)
Level 42, my favourite band, next to Def Leppard.
Wow!!!
Not familiar with the gent, but my 5-stringer weighs about 317 pounds.
Learned something new.
I want to know what happened when he went to primary school…
Are these two necktie-guys in the back his bodygards? 😎
I was wondering that too. But naw, he doesn't seem the type to shell out for personal security, especially since he's so well-liked everywhere.
He is left handed....😅
a proper bass player plays 4 strings ;)
This is as painful to watch as I’m sure it was for Mark King .. One of those meet and greet nightmares .. 😵💫
