Hello, I noticed in your hair tutorials you leave the ends of the hair shapes uncapped, with a hole, especially in your green hair buns video. Is this on purpose? Or do you merge the vertices at the tips? Also, do you manually create UVs for your hair or do you use the automatic method? Please let me know, I like your work.
Hi 👋 I left a hole on purpose because it is easy to work on UV unwrapping. I work on UVs depending on the mesh. I use an automatic method if I use sweep mesh tools, I manually work on it when I create hairs from cubes or orb, etc. Usually, the meshes created from the sweep mesh tool already have a good UV, so I just change the density and use them. I hope it helps 🙂
@@shprite781 I did not have a problem in rendering cuz it was an image render, but if you render in different directions you should make sure to close the gap very close. almost looks like they are connected. :)
You really did it, thanks my friend! But there is something happened during my practicing on this based on your method that when i smooth the mesh, the gap between the border of the back hair would break it shape, idk if its me or not, have you tried smoothing? I had to extrude instead of bridging, this gave me a lot of idea to do with, ty again.
Np! Anytime friend! 😊 if the model looks broken, here is something you can try. 1. use vertex faces then see if there are any extra faces 2. checking all vertex are connected. 3. mesh display > hard/soft edge 4. mesh display > set to face Since Maya is crazy (😂) it can make a problem from nowhere. so I listed some solutions for broken meshes. plz, try! I hope the problem will solve!
Forgot to say, I did smooth before connecting the gaps. Smooth usually changes the shape, so if you want to keep a shape of faces, you should avoid smooth them! 😉 hope it helps
Hi👋thank you for loving my work! Btw I believe xgen is for realistic hair. So if use xgen for anime style, I don't think it looks like anime that much. 🤔 it would be great if you have a reference picture! Plz send me 🙂

@@7b3dart thank you for replying! It does help. Are the holes noticeable at all once you render the final product?

let me try several more methods, i guess its just smoothing thing. Thanks for the speed response.

Hi,, how can color like u did
I used "substance 3d painter" two base color -> filter -> blur ✨
Hello. Can you make anime hairs tutorial using Maya Xgen ? Thanks :)
Also love your work❤
