Hi friends! This is more of a fun, vlog-style video where you can feel like you're at the park with us. If you want a more informative video, check out the comparison video we did of Europa-Park and the Magic Kingdom of Disney World here - ua-cam.com/video/kTs365mjkRU/v-deo.html
I grew up in Vienna. Visiting the oldest fairground in Europe, the Prater, was the highlight of my childhood in the 1970s. (The oldest mention of the Prater can be found in a document from the year 1162, in which Emperor Friedrich I. Barbarossa owned properties between the Schwechat and the Danube near Mannswörth, which were called Pratum (Latin for "meadow") ("quod dictur Pratum"). But the Europapark tops this child's dream by a lot!
Yes, what a great park Europa Park is! Nice to see you all had great fun. Seeing how you all enjoyed this park, please consider visiting Efteling in The Netherlands, you will not regret going!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Now I am kind of a fan of your videos...ooops. Still think that this experience of Europa Park, that you show here is exceptional. Many videos focus on the rides or they are just filming without commentary. Dunno what exactly it is but this video gets the vibes and atmosphere across really, really well! Very good job!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Great video-pictures, that looks amazing. 👍The division into different countries reminds me a bit to the "Expo 2000" (world exhibition in Hannover), where every country had an own pavillon. Unfortunately the Europa Park is too far away from Hamburg (in this region here we have the "Heide Park Soltau", the biggest amusement park in Northern Germany. Very recommendable with wild rides in the wooden rollercoaster "Colossos". If you hike in Lüneburger Heide and visit the beautiful half-timbered town Lüneburg you also should visit "Heide Park Soltau").
That could actually be the best „Werbevideo“ for Europapark ever! Hope they recognize it here on UA-cam and give you a couple of Hotel vouchers 😊 Great job, I enjoyed the video!
My family also loved europa park when they were younger. It seemed like a lot less walking than Disney- just go round a corner and there you are in the next ‘country’. The hotel and water park look great too. If ever you’re in the Netherlands my family really recommend Efteling theme park too.
Nice video!I'm living near Freiburg, just 20 minutes away from the Park. Love going there! The atmoshpere is awesome. I often drive there to get one or two drinks in one of the hotel bars at the weekend with some friends. You always immediately feel as if you are in vacation :). They really have an eye for details in this park when it comes to decoration
After your subtitle was asking about this being Sissi, I wonder how familiar you are with the German „tradition“ of watching all three Sissi movies during advent and Christmas time? And it‘s also a wide spread tradition to watch „Drei Nüsse für Aschenbrödel“, a Czech movie production which is very popular in Germany. You can find broadcasting times on the Internet. And since New Years Eve isn‘t that far away anymore, another very German tradition is, to watch „Dinner für zwei“, which is a British TV skit but not widely known to the Brits themselves. 😉
Yes that’s how I learned about Sissi! We watched the videos last Christmas and I just loved them! And then I really liked the new Netflix show all about her, The Empress. I made sure to watch it in German.
What a place! Lots of things to do and beautiful colors. I heard "Va Pensiero" from Verdi's Nabucco while looking at the dancing fountain, and felt transported to a sunny afternoon in an Italian piazza. I think even people my age (67) would be a happy little kid at Europa-Park.
If you happen to visit Colmar again in the future and if you guys are into wine, I'd highly recommend to visit Vignoble Klur, an organic winery located only 8 km west of Colmar in the cozy village of Katzenthal. Some years ago we had a wine tasting, accompanied with delicious home made snacks in their garden! Also worth a visit: Ribeauvillé 16 km to the north

Again the Europapark won the price for being the best Park in the world 2022!
Did you stay another night and then leave in the morning? Or did you drive home after the waterpark? I am planing to go to europapark next year and trying to decide how many nights to stay. Were 2 days europapark enough for you?
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. You definitely need a full 2 days to see most of the park. I’d even say you need 3 days if you really want to enjoy it all and not be rushed!
So funny kids looking outside the hotel room listening to Verdis Va, Pensiero from the Opera Nabucco, in German it is called der "Gefangenchor" , seems they want to escape the room and enjoy all the fun.
As much as there are other things I like about Germany, the location and possibility to visit another country by only crossing one or two borders has to be among the top 3.

The other family is one I met on Facebook before we moved here. They also have 4 kids and live in the Black Forest and go to Europa Park a lot, so they were our guides for the first day. Sorry that we didn’t introduce them. We were so busy having fun!
Here is an Idea for a video: Germans have a wierd thing going on with names, associating (mostly wrong) attributes to them. As a Kevin myself, you know, your friendly commentbox ranger, I had my fair share of bearing the name Kevin and the stigma that comes along with it. There actually is a thing called "Kevinism", which is pseudo-scientific described as the negative preconception German people have of Germans with trendy, exotic-sounding first names. The protypical example is Kevin, which like most such names came to Germany from Anglo-American culture. It doesn't really matter tho, if you are a German native, or foreign. If you grew up in Germany and your name is Kevin, you will have your fair share of the preconception Germans (or other foreign ppl growing up in Germany) have. The female version of this would be Chantalism, however, you can replace the name with any non-typical Name. However, there are German names, that fit into that Criteria, but these are rare. To my knowledge "Ingo" fits that criteria. I remember an ad campaign by DEA (a gas chain, not the "DEA") where a German filled up his muscle car with gas. Everyone "congartulating" the guy (at least he thought the congratulated him on his car) by saying "Super Ingo!". Later in the ad, someone stated "Super Ingo, not Diesel!". I don't know, if Ingo had a negative conotation beforhands, however, I know, that "Home Alone" had its part in the negative conotation on the name Kevin (because the name Kevin exploded among Germans). If you'd like, you may use this information, as may fit in your schedule, since the problems Kevins like us have, is meanwile deeply rooted in neo-german culture.

Germans have a wierd thing going on with names, associating (mostly wrong) attributes to them.
I have a nephew named Kevin, a really nice boy - therefore I am always fighting against any mad opinions.
Your German friend went with you to Europa Park??? Has he his own children? Or a girlfriend!?
Yeah so he had his own hotel room. He doesn’t have his own children but he loves kids so yeah, he hung out with us and helped us with the kids.
