That is so cool! There have been a few music-themed cruises that seemed like they'd be great fun, but a quick geek cruise seems about perfect! I look forward to sharing the video with my Monday night online gaming group 😀
@@thisisgeeky As a kid, I figured I'd end up in Canada or Sweden. (Texas was never a thought. Just one day, my mom and step father: "Our jobs have given us a choice: be laid off, or move to Texas..." But it IS where I met the biggest geeks in my life.)
@@ChristopherGronlund I guess we geeks are everywhere these days, so any place can be awesome! :D Although I really wouldn't have imagined Texas to be a geek center!
@@thisisgeeky It's mostly in the cities, here. Austin has grown a lot, but South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) brings in geeks from all over the world. And with several big cities in the state, there are always geeky conventions. That, and Funimation/Crunchyroll and some other American dubbed anime studios are here.
It would probably have been cheaper to just stay in harbor :D But no, it actually departed to the Åland islands, so that we could buy tax free booze ;D
You'd have to be a total geek to go to the trouble of chartering a ship and setting up all that stuff. :) Looks very interesting! And I really like the displaying of cutting edge hardware for the connoisseur! Is it a freaky no-rules cruise in international waters, or is the ship just moored in Stockholm? And how much was the ticket?
Total geek - the best kind of geek :D It was a cruise to the Åland islands. They have a few special rules that allows for tax free shopping, but it's not completely lawless... The ticket was quite reasonable I would say, even if I splurged on a single cabin with a double bed. Like 140 EUR (plus food and drinks). But yeah, an awesome cruise overall :D
@@thisisgeeky 140 EUR is not too bad, and tax free drinks even! I had a hunch it could be a cruise to Åland, but it seemed a bit far for just 24 hours, but what do I know. Navigating all the small islands outside of Stockholm seems like it could be very time consuming, but I guess they know their stuff.
Unfortunately not! And the Viking Line site's translated version is hiding the special cruises for some reason(?) But see if you can use google translate on moderskeppet.geeks.se/
What’s better than a good geekfest? A floating geekfest! Awesome vlog 👍🤣
Haha! I couldn't have said it better :D Thank you! :D

Woohoo! If I keep this up I'll start a mass invasion of Sweden one of these days, given all the cool geeky things happening over here ;D

Thanks alot for another awesome video! To bad I didnt know about this sooner, looks so much fun!
It really was so much fun! Let's hope that there's a 3rd edition next year - then you can visit that one :D
@@thisisgeeky I will see you there then 😋
@@xometj7288 Absolutely :D
So how muuch for 1 person? And is there an enflish site?
Just search for "Moderskeppet 3" and it's the first hit. Prices vary depending on the cabin - not sure if they're getting sold.out yet
2:44 Dat me!
Happy that I caught you on camera :D
Since you never get off the boat during this event, does the boat ever "set sail"?

@@tumarfa It can probably be done faster...but how would people have time to drink and party in that case?! :D
@@thisisgeeky Now that's a very good point.😃🍸🍹😃
Sadly no english site
