But as the same time I see thousands of book doing this without having any problem. What do you think ? Do you consider it dangerous for a KDP account ? I would be happy to have your viewpoint on this. I have other businesses and I know how powerful having a mail list...
Hello and you're welcome! You're write, thousands of books do this and have no issue at all. Amazon does say not to put an external link in your books that links to a form that asks for anyone's personal information. If you are concerned you could have a link that sends them to a page on your site which talks about giving something away (If that's what you are doing), don't put the sign up form on this page but put a button which the person has to click to bring up the sign up form and then you are not providing an external link directly to a sign up form.
Should you start an email list with your first book? Just curious if someone should wait until they have at least a book or 2 published before asking for an email. Are you talking about putting info to your free offer in your book? Amazon says you can cant provide a link to a form that asks for a customers personal details. Although everyone does this, if you are concerned, just link to a page on your website that doesn't have the actual form but a link to the form.
I really disagree with the frequency of emailing. Anyone who emails me once a week i unsubscribe from. I honestly dont need this hence i would never do this to others.
So people should put a link to their lead magnet in all of their already made books, or a link in their already made website showcasing their already made products to get a mailing list. This makes no sense at all. I don't think you have thought it out very clearly.
You put a link to your lead magnet anywhere you can. You put it in your books so that people who buy your books find out about your lead magnet and mailing list and can go there and sign up. The link in the book goes to your website which has a sign up form on it.
