Funny you brought up LCtR because that same part reminded me of some of the stuff from the Contortionists Language album which features the same vocalist! I feel like that section of the song would have fit perfectly in a contortionist song if they replaced the grand piano with synthesizer!
I'm glad you didn't cut it off early before that last part. I looooove that quiet part at the end. It feels like watching a concert end.

Wow... I remember listening to Aviations back when their first album came out around 2014(?) and not being particularly impressed with them. I thought too many new djent bands were popping up that pretty much sounded the same around that time so I never really went back to any of them. Hearing this, I like it a lot and I'm glad they're actually bringing something unique to the table. It feels like a mixture between TesseracT, Haken and Native Construct. I'll have to check out their latest album.
Cool, but if not for those darker parts I probably wouldn’t check them out more. But as it were, that made it so much more engaging.
The way I see the rythmic djenty parts is that they're supposed to stress you out a little bit, to give the breakdowns and other melodic parts extra meaning/weight. Just like "you can't appreciate good without the bad" kinda vibe. That said I also enjoy djenty bits generally but I could also see them doing some of those bits in this song differently. Overall a super solid song though. Great review!

I certainly see why it was requested in such high volumes when it came out.
"Taking off with this week's theme." I see what you did there. ;) Anyway, haven't heard these guys, but this was pretty great. Really cool mix of beautiful, atmospheric, ambient elements with prog metal. The prog metal elements were just OK, but the vocals, harmonies, strings, and keyboard really elevated the whole to the next level. Will definitely be checking these guys out.

Hey sorry possibly dumb question, do Patreons get straight up requests? Or do requests go into a poll first and then everyone votes?
So for the Mon-Fri content, that's all poll based. Two weeks prior is a poll to determine the theme and the week prior is a poll to determine which bands make it for the actual week of reactions. The Special Selection is completely separate from Patreon. It's a one time donation to pick a specific song. However, I had to close the submissions for this temporarily as I had over 100 request to get through. Submissions will open back up around May or June though and viewers will be able to tell me exactly what they want me to check out.

After discovering this I tried other songs by them they aren't even in a level close to this they're mediocre at best what I heard
