While I'm afraid I'll sound like the Diablo Immortal guy, don't you guys have phones? Why would anyone type a message on a console with a controller, which is slow and awful, when they could just use their phone or Skype or discord or whatever?
@@DeltathRiylaan There's a thing called headsets which I don't know why Nintendo forces you to get an app to voice chat (headsets will make them $$$ anyway) and at least the Switch can bring in something like Discord onto the Switch. Discord even tweeted a while back that they would absolutely love to partner with Nintendo. But of course, Nintendo wants to screw everything up.
@@DeltathRiylaan Maybe because I added some people I played with on Mario Kart and have no other way to communicate? Ive made friends on PSN, even back on the PS3...
Honestly, I see them doing something within the app that integrates a user’s linked social media account and message through Facebook, Twitter, or even Discord’s messaging app-based services. The app will leave a notification when new messages are received, and a notification can also appear on the console. (It’s confusing yes, but I’m keeping my expectations in check)

Why does Nintendo promote NES games like its the only thing they are actually proud of making?

I miss wii and the music and the wii sport party and resort games
N64, GameCube and wii would take way too much space on your switches, so snes would be more logical. They COULD do a virtual console, or even some HD remakes.
@@clyde2548
Eh, I think N64 would be fine, the max size of an N64 game is 64 megabytes. Gamecube and Wii, though? The file sizes for those would be way too inconvenient.

PizzaGamecube - *WE ARE NOT GETTING SWITCH VIRTUAL CONSOLE. IT’S TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW.* Need I say more?
Honestly your saying that “Netflix stinks, We want to buy individual movies.” Which in this case says about how anti-consumer Virtual Console was. FYI; SPENDING money on individual games, instead of paying a monthly/quarterly/annual fee.
Zac Wood but we are paying for terrible games instead of pretty great games. At least on netflix they have stuff that people like.
MKFan3000 YT Sony also said they will not be participating in cross play in games like Fortnite etc. My point is, companies change their mind all the time. We just need to show Nintendo the demand for a Virtual Console as opposed to a crappy subscription rental service.
I'd rather pay money for games individually and keep them then pay online and loose the game once I unsubsribe.
Fantastic! I always thought the Nes controller was really beautiful!
Even getting an actual NES somewhere is cheaper than this...

Charging $60 for a pair of NES controllers is insulting. The NES Classic controllers are $10. Does a Bluetooth chip and rechargeable battery really justify a $20 price increase?
Production Value is most likely less than $10. That's how they make a profit, but I'd say the increase is more of a $10 experience. Still bad so I'd suggest the 8bitdo ones.
From what I've seen, the answer unfortunately appears to be "Yes." There's a device available that allows you to connect a Classic Controller or a Gamecube controller to your Switch wirelessly that's around $20. It's from 8bitdo.
These make such a huge difference when playing NES Games - I love them. 👍🏽

@@FuckUA-camHandles_ Yeah check out the 8bitdo gbros adapter. $20 and you can play any gamecube controller or NES SNES classic controller wirelessly on the switch. Works like a charm.
Abcdude thanks for the recommendation chief
It's actually roughly $70 for a pair considering tax and shipping are necessary for most, but yeah a bit pricey considering you can largely still find an NES Classic for $60. They are nice and offer both wireless bluetooth connectivity and good battery life from reports, but I have a feeling Nintendo missed the mark on pricing and they should have been around the $40-$50 mark.
Still I would really like them I just can't justify spending that much on these controllers. I have seen complaints that these should be available to anyone not just Nintendo Switch Online members, but why? If they were designed to only work on the Switch and only for the NES Classics library of the Switch Online service, they would be of no worth to anyone short of modding them.
Why would nintendo discontinue the virtual console in favor of only NES games?
Especially if they're NOT planning an N64 classic or *anything* beyond that.
Who at nintendo thought this was a good business choice?
Well, Nintendo recently got a new CEO...
GigaYoshi Are the NES game able to be played offline? Like, if you paid for the service and left your house(basically your internet connection) would you still be able to play NES games outside of your internet connection? Or can you only play online? Or is that just the multiplayer?
But I mean there is no evidence that no SNES virtual console is coming or n64 or GameCube. (Feel free to prove me wrong)
The fans.... tha fans thought this was a good business choice
So uh, now that we got snes virtual console it's safe to assume that they'll eventually do another virtual console

*Actually pulls out babies*
Yah! Right?
NES Classic Controllers: $10 each and can be used on multiple things
NES Switch Controllers: $60 for 2 and the only difference is that they're wireless. They also can only be used on 1 specific thing which costs even more money
Plus a 20$ yearly fee. You're paying 80$ to use a control for a pathetically small handful of old NES games for a year, 100$ for 2 years, and so on...

Just purchased a year’s subscription (and got it half off because of Gold Points) and ordered the controllers. Thanks, Nintendo!
Listen, I’m a huge Nintendo fan. That being said, this is not a “special offer” and the lack of a real virtual console is infuriating. Let me buy the games outright.
No dude, they don't want people to own their games anymore. They want us to pay for temporary access over and over and over again. It's just more profitable that way. I've been a huge fan since I was 7 but I can't support this.
The lack of a Virtual Console honestly means none of this “you want Super Mario? IT COSTS MONEY!”, “want Metroid? IT COSTS MONEY!” “Zelda? MONEY!”, “Mega Man?, “MEGA-MONEY!”, “Donkey Kong? IT COSTS MONEY!”, “Ninja Gaiden? Sorry, BUT PLEASE HAND OVER YOUR MONEY!” “Take all your games from Wii to Wii U? sure! but it will still COST YOU MONEY.” “Play mostly the same games on 3DS? STILL COST YOU MONEY!” “Pokémon? IT COSTS MONEY!”, “Kirby? MONEY!” “PAC-MAN? either way, IT STILL COSTS MONEY”, “Game Boy Advance? IT COSTS MONEY!”, “SNES? Sorry but, YOU MUST SPEND MONEY!”, “Nintendo 64? SPEND MONEY!”, “EarthBound? PLEASE HAND OVER YOUR MONEY!” you get it?
This is the future for gaming across all platforms, don't think that Sony and Microsoft won't do anything like this. But wait I forgot, Sony and Microsoft are perfect. (Sarcasm)
This x1000! I still have a NES, but it would be nice to have be able to get these games on the switch to save desk space. This service is unacceptable! Stop trying to earn a quick $, and put some respect on your company Nintendo.
I've been buying NES games outright. They come in a strange plastic cover and you slide them into an old box that plugs into the TV. Strangest thing is it all holds value and I can resell it for near what I paid for it. But dammit, I want 1000s of digital games I don't have time to play on my modern portable console. I love these controllers, and I hope they release similar controllers IF Nintendo EVER releases their other old games (SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii,) games. I like how they are recognized as NES controllers, but still functional in games with Dpad support. I also like the functionality of the shoulder buttons in the app.

Well i bought them and had a blast with my brother remembering good old days...so yea...thanks Nintendo.
Don't waste money on these! Get the 8bitdo controllers instead! They have way more features for about the same price.
If they are going to make a peripheral for their most controversial feature at the moment, they should at least try harder to make their controllers be cheaper when they have way less features than the competition. We can't support this laziness and they need to know that we want them to focus on either giving us better games for their service, or just bringing back VC. Don't buy the controllers and tell them that they can get away with spamming nostalgia at you after just killing their classic consoles.
This isn't acceptable anymore!
let's pirate :D
CJSai#64 - The reason Switch Online is cheaper than its competitors is because it doesn’t offer as much.
It doesn't have a competitor. The 8bitdo controllers are kind of cool and have a lot of new fangled features, but that's not what these are for. These are for authentic NES controllers that look and feel like NES controllers. If you don't want them, then clearly you aren't the target audience. I'm not either, but there are a ton of collectors and nostalgic fans who want them because of how they look and feel. Personally, I hate the pokey square shape.
@@DeltathRiylaan 8bitdo makes controllers that look and feel exactly like nes controllers. They also have more functionality than these.
@@spencerroten573 I'm looking through all their controllers and none of them are NES controllers. The closest one has a diamond shaped four button layout that looks more like an SNES controller. Either you're wrong or show me. And if that's the one you're talking about, then it doesn't cut. Not for a lot of purists. I'm not saying it's good or that I want these. I hate the original NES controller and I'd much rather have something like the SNES30 PRO 8bitdo. But they don't fulfill the same niche. Similar to the NES Classic. I wouldn't buy one because I don't want to play any games on a short, corded NES controller. But millions of other people do. Not all products are made for all people.

How is it that it's taking you so long to emulate games on the switch when emulators OF the switch already exist?

@@WDoo The emulator for me doesn't lag. Yeah, the ui is garbage, but I've had no problems actually playing the games.
Laggy? The emulator is fine. The only thing that lags is the original NES hardware, which the emulator perfectly replicates. If it didn't then it wouldn't be accurate, and this is common among the best NES emulators.
It can be used on other games outside the service. It's been proven. Your mileage will vary however.

Hate to break it to you, but all companies just want your money
lol, is this a joke? that's their business model. nintendo is magnitudes more fun now than it was in 1985 when the NES released. the quality of the video games they released and the amount of content they have is so much more massive than any time in the past. I have no idea what contrived metric you're using to find this mystical, bygone era when "nintendo was about fun", but I can only imagine that it's seeded in having your parents pay for your video games. i don't even have any connection to nintendo and I'm insulted by this comment. if you value an experience, good, service, or whatever, you show that by exchanging money for it. that's how this society works. people expend effort for money. game developers gotta eat too. you're not entitled to have people serving you free entertainment for nothing in return. and if you're looking at this product anyways, you've already bought a $300 switch anyways, so you're probably not that strapped for cash.
lol i just looked at the price, and it's pretty expensive, but that's about all you can say about it. "extorting me for cash" and "remember when you were about fun?" are hyperbolic. like, you can still play the games without these controllers lol
Not sure why you think you're at the forefront for Nintendo but ok
If youre too poor to pay $20 a year you shouldnt even play videogames and sort out some important stuff in your life
@@merlin7800 in other words, if you don't want to waste 20$ a year for something that was free just a couple of months before you aren't allowed to do the things you like doing.
Controllers seem awesome
THE NES JOYCONS LOOK COOL!!!!
I wasn't going to down vote this video because it seemed to he just about the controllers. Once that guy started saying how great the online service was I smashed that things down button.
Very few people want these controllers. People would much rather play NES games with an authentic and more functional SNES controller.
Cant wait to see some dudes getting to top placings in ssbu tourney with this controller
Finnaly this was my dream
Make switch online better. You need to listen to us gamers if you want to succeed as a gaming company.
Like if u agree with me.
Henzū_Pyhz I do agree that they should fix it, but I feel like as a gaming company they'll be fine almost no matter what with how big they are.
@@Devcasteel look at youtube rewind 2018's like to dislike ratio.
youtube is a big company.
*they REALLY weren't fine*
I agree but using common opinions as a like catcher is kind of a d1ck move
Henzū_Pyhz Let Nintendo have their freedom, you swine.
@Cutie & Friends Adventures and that freedom isn’t working out.
Why should we care?
What do you mean?
Why should we care about them selling us NES controller, when they removed everything from the virtual console, and only smacked NES games on their online service, which the vast majority of people don't care for? They took down some major rom sites too, and gave us no adequate replacement. If I'm not allowed to play Mario 64 via an emulator (Which I'm really not), you've gotta give people an alternative. If you don't, you may as well be incentivising them to use emulators and the like, because it's far easier, and the money you'd spend on buying it from a stranger on the internet isn't exactly going to nintendo's pockets.
It's just really frustrating that they remove the virtual console, take down rom sites, as if they're telling us we should use the official product, and then don't give us that product.
I'm sorry for repeating myself a bit and ranting, but I just don't get it.
@@plet0707 If I wanted to play NES games, i'd download roms and emulator on my cpmputer, and grab my Sega Genesis to PC adapter (I use the 3 buttton controller, and map Select to C).
@@plet0707 You are right, but they do look good,it still is unfair you need to have the membership,I have it but that seems unfair
@L
They do look nice, and I'm sure they bring back a lot of memories for a lot of people, though 30$ is pretty steep for such situational controllers. I also don't really find that the issue is having a membership, but that so little comes with the membership; especially when they let us play online free for an extra year, and don't really seem to have done anything with that time.
I'm exited about mario u deluxe thank u nintendo I saw the trailer
damn your late the party my g
love it
No thanks I got an NES classic.
I need to get mine quick before they stop selling them, although I'd rather pay scalper prices than buy switch online.
Justin Butler I got my NES & SNES CLASSIC at a Best Buy so maybe go to your nearest Best Buy and see if they have them.
No thanks. I hacked my Wii.
No thanks I have a computer
No thanks i can play nes games on my phone
Solo se alimentan de la nostalgia
CLASSIC NES GAMES
All things about nso and these being a heck of a lot of money, these are pretty dope
So basically “Give us money so you can give us more money
Ps: Did you just say there was no better way to play nes games. NES CLASSIC EXISTS FOR A REASON why the **** did you pull it off the market to push your anti consumer product
NES classics are everywhere right now dude
He said no better way to play nes games ON THE SWITCH.
also 2018 wave!
@@soaringChris they are discontinuing the classic consoles
@@joejackson5184 OP is not referring to the controllers
My favourite part is when the controllers stop working because my membership runs out.
put on snes games or super mario world, and I won't just put these on display if I ever buy them.
Why are people disliking the video, the man is literally showing us a cool accurate NES controller and people are getting upset? Why? It's cool and it's sad people are so negative all the time even when something's cool.
Welcome back nintendo
Came here to dislike. Ok, bye
same
0:08 "Yah"? Trying to pull a Will Smith to make your service seem more intriguing?
Do these work with the switch lite? Can I charge them if all I have is a switch lite?
Do they work as joycons attached to the switch in handheld mode?
FIX ONLINE WE DO NOT WANT TO PLAY 4 MAN WITH ITEMS GOD DAMN IT
Do you really still have this problem? The update fixed it for me. I haven't been put in a 4 player game since
Online works fine
Lol
advanced totoposting They already fixed that in the new update stupid noob. I bet you no have smash. You probably heard people saying this online and decided to say it here. That is invalid now. They fixed it already shut up idiot
@Finn The Goldfish they did but you're just not good enough. If you're good enough then you unlock the mode elite smash
is this an out of season april fools joke?
I just got an 8-bit do controller. It's half the price, and has all of the buttons a pro controller has, so it can be used for games like shovel knight and celeste
Can you use for them for any other game besides the nes games?
We want a Nintendo 64 classic!!!
Well you got it now
Just wait till we get Gameboy Online.
It only makes sense since we have SNES Online, and the capabilities of Gameboy graphics rendered onto the Switch. Also, there are surprisingly a number of multiplayer Gameboy games!
Getting these DAY 1
Everyone we have like 2 weeks until the Wii shop closes down forever. Let us like in memory of this great service
Personally, I'd like to see SNES/N64 made available for online & full on remasters for the best of the gamecube's library for physical release (i.e. Mario Sunshine, Wario's World etc..)
Almost everything you said happened!
Ok. I'm not a online hater. But it sucks that the controller is online only.
"Online hater"
You mean people giving constructive criticism about an online service that is extremely lacklustre?
Same. I honestly don't have any issues with the online services.
But yeah, I do wish that controller wasn't online exclusive and that there was more variety with the free-to-play online retro games. I mean, NES games are fine and all, but they're not enough to make it interesting IMO.
I agree with you 100%. I would be fine with it if they drastically lowered the price, but that is just too much for simply online.
The controller isn't online only. You just have to be a subscriber to their online service to have ordered it in the first place. It's not like if you're offline they don't work or if you cancel your sub, they turn into paper weights.
@@DeltathRiylaan they mean the online classic games for the Famicom.
Do we HAVE to attach the NES controllers to the Switch, or would a third party joy Con charger work just fine as well?
You have to connect them at least once to pair them in the first place.
I actually like this
