Hi I look forward to to your channel every Saturday. IM 59 YEARS OLD I'VE BEEN BUILDING SINCE I WAS 6 YEARS OLD. It's a little how to and some history about the cars and you included where you can located the parts. Keep up the good work THANK YOU FOR THE TIME TO TEACH US AND SHARING YOUR PASSION FOR THE MODEL CAR HOBBY THANKS AGAIN AL FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK 👍 PS. I THINK YOU HAVE ONE OF THE BETTER CHANNELS OUT THERE JUST SAYING.
Thank you! Really! I started this out of fun and wanting to show more than just assembling models or out of the box builds. I liked what I saw on You Tube but just wanted more.
As an owner of one of these cars I'm super impressed, you did a great job man, a few things I wish I could have seen and pointed out for the extra affect but you did it great, good tip for my fellow model guys go to your local O'Reilly's or parts store and you can get a roll of 12"x36" vinyl wrap and it's great for leather seats, dash mats, door panels, vinyl roofs, headliners, basically anything you want to have a leather look and feel.
Absolutely. This is supposed to be fun so enjoy it! If these errors bug you and you feel that this is a chore to fix. Then you are probably not enjoying the build as much as you could be.
Thanks Raul for sharing your upgrades on this kit!!! I started to build this kit, it's in primer but now I'm going to go back and modify the firewall and door panels.
For the battery tray area, remove and repair that area. On the real car (personal knowledge) the tray was never put in and all you would see is the inner fender. Just follow the contour of the fender. If you want to be super correct, there is just a little "shelf" where the tray attaches but for the model it wouldn't matter.
I built a stock GTS and the 'Hemified' Super stock versions of that kit. I bought several more and I'm enjoying seeing from you what great potantial this Revell kit has. Great work on it so far, looking forward to your final on this one!
I have noticed that most vehicles with "radio delete" or "heater delete " option, have block off plates to cover the hole in the dash. I plan to make them from flat sheet styrene for mine. Which I was encouraged to purchase from watching your videos and liking MOPAR a little more from watching "Graveyard Carz "
Nice video! I'm obsessed with this kit to date I have 4 from the original run 3 or 4 of the Dick Landy Dart kit 2 Mr Norms Dart kits Plus my holy grail, an original 60s near mint Mpc Charlie Allen Dart funny car kit plus the LA Dart Wheelstander model king re release from the mid 2000s.....I think that is enough lol
You could have just used the Hemi option with the sport package and made into a Street machine, allowing you to keep all the interior pieces (Less work and still realistic). Many people did just that back in the day, driving to the grocery store on Sunday with the same car they raced down the strip with on Fri/Sat night ;) Nice video really cool to see all the work you have done.
Oh on that manifold, if u can find the original or one of the many reissued Mpc/Amt hemi Cuda kits(I have 2 ) the manifold and the carbs are more correct than the ones in this kit as the real car had big ass Holley carbs, which that kit has
I have a couple of these in my stash to build later. Yours is looking great! Enjoyed (and appreciate) the history buts and tips you showed doing on yours for a more accurate car, my friend. I saved the link to this video in a folder so I can come back and watch it again when I get around to building mine 😁✌
I can not tell you how glad I am to find this info. I am doing this exact build as a part of a series of LO23 Super Stock Darts. I have 8 of these in the works now with plans for at least 3 more. I have already done many of the mods you have shown but wasn't sure about how to add the brackets to the seats and or lift them. Further, as I planning on doing some of the builds with the windows up I was really unsure of how to do the window strap buttons. Those pins you are using look just right. I have noticed that some of the snaps were placed below the armrest and some behind it. I like the look of the strap going through or behind the armrest so mine will all go that way. 🙂 Still not sure about the seatbelts and even if the passenger seats had any. But will certainly be adding them to the driver's seat. I just wonder if they used a stock type of belt or an aftermarket style safety harness with a lever-type buckle. I have watched the Drag-On-Lady video a few times and am still not sure. Love your videos and your builds Raoul, well most of them lol. The rest I just like HAHAHAHA!
This has been one of my future build projects. Great tips on your build. Also, planning the '68 Barracuda as well using the, MPC Avenger Barracuda, as it is a '68 body. I haven't checked yet but was wondering if the chassis from the Hemi Dart would work.
I built the HEMI dart several months ago, awesome kit. Love your awesome tips. Where is the best place to get micro drill bits? The set i have doesn't go small enough. Thank you for all the advice.
I'm in the first stage as you are but making mine a slot race car so won't be using most of it do to weight issues I took off my wiper post as I noticed you didn't but mine will be in crashes so they most of the fall
Won't window strap interfere with a snug tub & body fit without notching panel behind strap? Gotta nit-pic cause you're doin a great job everywhere else, man! (kudos)
That is the only real kit to start from. Or find an old MPC 1968 issue. I have a few myself. Bandit Resin did offer a resin kit. I don't know if he offers it still. It is nice! I also have another one from another caster that I made friends with long ago that I started. I'll get back to that one soon.
Yes, I phrased that badly. Any MPC kit would be the last thing you’d want to start out with for anything but the body. And the Barracuda kit you can still find is a ‘69, and you need a ‘68, correct? So pull out one of what I imagine are your many Miss Mighty Mopars, and you can get going on it, right? Ha ha. Though I’m betting you have a few up your sleeve.

Thanks. I like your laid back build it for yourself attitude. We all can just chill out and enjoy this hobby.
Well said!

Thanks! 👍 Cool that you have one of these!
Looks fantastic!!! I'm a 60s drag racing fanatic. Love the effort you put into making the Dart correct!! Again great job!!!! 👍
Thank you!
Your Revell '68 Hemi Dart will be something else when you're done with it! Thanks for showing your video too!
Thanks for watching!
You build for yourself and that's all that matters!!
Absolutely. This is supposed to be fun so enjoy it! If these errors bug you and you feel that this is a chore to fix. Then you are probably not enjoying the build as much as you could be.
Built this kit 2 years ago it is a nice kit. Love that two lane black top look! Your attention to detail is awesome.
Thank you!

Thank you! The Revell Darts are great kits. I enjoyed building the first two I did and had to by more!
Your research is great. I was lucky because there were 2 original HEMI Darts in our car club at one time. So I could just walk up and look. lol
Now that is cool!
Very cool ideas. Interior looks great. Ron
Thanks!

Cool! Most of those plates are flush or recessed when installed. So that is why I just sand them down.
I have a couple of these kits, thanks for showing us how to correctly build the race cars!!!
You're welcome.
I had to sand the upper carb and intake a lil bit to get hood shut
Good to know. My other build one the hood doesn't quite fit flush. I'll check that one.

Very cool and you can never have enough!
Excellent work!
Saved this one and part 2 for future inspiration!
Thank you!
Cool ideas. I’m going to use them on my Nascar build. Thanks
Have fun!
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Awesome Update Detailing Tips Raul, Thanks For Sharing Your Skills and Love For The Hobby. Have a Blessed Wknd Sir.
Thanks 👍

Wow this is a bad a$$ build. You are the master of Mopars. Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍

Thank you! I don't think they used racing seat belts but am not sure.
Cool mods!!!
Thank you!
Some great tips that can be used on other builds. I think you should wire the engine. IMHO
Thank you!
Time to start makin' some rivets! Those flathead pins'll go a lot faster.
Rivets on what? LOL!
yea i had a blast with that kit as well looks good my friend model on!👍
Thanks 👍

Thanks! I don't know how well the Dart chassis would work. Mine has been started using the AMT 71 Duster chassis.
Nice work brother I’ve got the same kit and some ideas
Cool 👍
Very cool information, thanks for sharing. Rick 😎✌️
You bet
I'm very familiar with the ace hobby store, go there all the time.
Awesome! I have only been there twice!
Great Video!!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I built the HEMI dart several months ago, awesome kit. Love your awesome tips. Where is the best place to get micro drill bits? The set i have doesn't go small enough. Thank you for all the advice.
I bought mine many years ago at my local hobby shop. So that I can’t answer.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler thanks
There are a couple of companies that make the !100 seats now. They became popular for some reason. Hmmm?
Thanks. I only know of the one currently.
Looks great.
Thanks!
Great idea
Thank you! 😊

Cool. Some of the race cars, the owners removed the wipers. Many left the motor on the firewall, but they did come with them installed.
Very nice.
Thank you!
Nice vid👍

Not in my test fitting! Having trouble getting the foil to stick to the primer!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler maybe try coating areas your gonna foil with Future first - smooths the surface for burnishing. trick works for me.
I'm giving that a try! Thank you!
I brushed on some clear from a bottle and it seems to be helping it stick! Thanks Carl!
Whos semi gloss black did you use
Testors! It is still available in the small jars.
Looks like the hump is higher?
On the floor? That is what makes it hard to see the brackets. Plus I didn’t want the seats sitting to high.
I hear the little red wagon has the correct seats, I could be wrong..
I heard that too but don’t have that kit.
I wonder way 2 seats?
I believe from rule changes. Had to have a roll bar so seat was allowed to be deleted.
I have some videos that you might like and you can see what I do having fun think the videos work I'm dumb on this technology.
Cool. I watched lots of How to You Tube on You Tube! Sounds silly but lots of great info.
I build model kits into slot cars racing videos no how too lol
The intake isn't even because it's a cross ram manifold.
On the real ones both carbs are on the same level. The model kit has the rear one lowered down.
"correcting" the intake would be incorrect
OK.
Thems is PINS, not needles. Needles got a hole in 'em for sewing. 🚗
Thanks!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler lol I was just "needling" you........sorry - I *had* to go there 🤡
Thanks! That’s how I plan to build mine, so this is a big help. Any thoughts on doing one of the ‘Cudas? Maybe use the MPC kit as a base?
That is the only real kit to start from. Or find an old MPC 1968 issue. I have a few myself. Bandit Resin did offer a resin kit. I don't know if he offers it still. It is nice! The cross ram intake is supposed to be higher and lower FYI great vid otherwise
It has been awhile but I have seen a few in person but don't remember that.
