I am a Respiratory Therapist and am studying for my pulmonary function testing credentials. I have been performing PFT's on patients for close to 10 years, but I have gained so much *understanding* from this ONE video; I can't thank you enough! Understanding these concepts has helped me tremendously in studying for my RPFT credentials. I am excited how this knowledge is going to help me in testing patients!! Thank you for this wonderful explanation! I'm going to binge watch any other lung videos you have!! :D
I am glad that we found each other. And, really happy that I was able to make concepts understandable. Here is to you and your patients. Continue doing a great job, you are our hero!
This is such ana amazing explanation. I came here specifically to understand the concept of hysteresis but you've made me want to watch all your other videos on the topic of lungs. Very clear explanation. Thank you very much.

Sir M not medical student bt even though I watch all ur videos. These extra-ordinary systematic arrangement of nature proves the existence of Almighty God.

Hi sir thank you for your brilliant video, really helped me to build my understanding on this subject. However, I have one slight confusion sir... how is it that the intrapleural pressure is prominent in determining the flow of air in and out of the lungs when it’s just an empty space between two membranes that is not connected to the outside environment. I just can’t picture how it works? I would understand if it was intrapulmonary pressure but I don’t understand how it is the intrapleural pressure. I hope I make sense and would love some clarification. Thank you! :)
Pleural cavity is not an empty space.. It has some fluid in it.. And pressure changes act on that fluid.. See his pneumothorax lecture.. U will understand
Hello everyone , I have question about lung compliance curves hysteresis bothering me for long time , actually I cannot fully understand what kind of manner dampening lung volume change during expiration at it's very beginning causing expiration compliance curve different and higher than inspiration compliance curve , elucidate it please . :'(
AOA SIR, you lectures are very informative for me, Sir i got pain in epigestric region on deep inhalation of air only ,i dont know what type of that pain i have diagnosed H.pylori recently , i have forgot breathing rhythum intake after diagnose of typhiod one month ago, in which my abdoman was swelling and i addopted deep breathing ,now i am try to take shallow breathing who is natural and regulated by brain ,but i feel suffocation on that, a fearing pulse arises from central epigestric region and move in whole body, but on laying position here is no problem ,my Covid 19 Test is negitive, but in deep breathing i used to force ,it carry me into depression , i feel my CNS is not controlling breath in propler way , i have lost thirst, hunger ,feeling of enviroment Hot, what can i do on that, you are belong to same speciality ,
