Taylor doesn't want to see ridge anymore - cause Taylor wants to be left alone
Taylor's speech about her feelings and Stephanie's predictions about Ridge's feelings are out of sync with how this storyline turns out. Taylor is being portrayed as the long suffering Good Girl and Stephanie is usually a Reliable Narrator. Moreover the Ridge/Taylor scene has a strong undercurrent of romantic longing with Ridge saying he never thought they would get divorced and wanting to still be close to Taylor. Scenes like these normally indicate that a "turn" is on the horizon, that something will happen to break up Ridge and Brooke. The fact that their marriage was annulled by the court and the subsequent six month timeline would also normally indicate that.
And indeed a major event _will_ occur that seems to be that turn (the reveal of Bridget's paternity). And yet...Ridge will still stay with Brooke. It's an anticlimactic result for all this buildup and it makes me wonder if Hunter Tylo leaving for Melrose Place disrupted the storyline plan. Otherwise none of these preceding events amount to anything. (A similar disruption likely occurred when Kimberlin Brown left temporarily and they had to rewrite the end of Sheila's storyline).
I'm sure that HT leaving for MP ruined the end of this storyline. Because there will be such great scenes between them. And back then I was so disappointed it went nowhere because I didn't know HT left the show for MP.
What a great observation! I agree. The conventions of the drama suggest that Ridge's choice was the "false dawn" and that another turn was coming in the storyline. I've been saying for a long time that Taylor is more like the traditional romantic heroine and Brooke is more like the villain. And that's on the actresses' looks and skills too. HT is gorgeous but she's not a strong actress so she's better in the simpler "good" role whereas KKL has scheming RBF look and is quite good at playing the more complex "bad" role.
That is a great point! I know there is a scene coming up (in a couple of months) where Ridge and Taylor discuss their divorce, and there is quite a strong indication in the _background music_ that they don't actually want the divorce. But then, it's as if the show stays with the Brooke/Ridge pairing and instead move Taylor away from Ridge (introducing Grant as a potential love interest for Taylor).
@@ram262maha KKL is a very weak actress and definitely not the femme Fatale that Brad Bell wants her to be. She's a psychopath that's for sure. HT is still better than KKL. Only thing HT can't do is crying but her emotional scenes are really gud☺️
@@annieo6527 Maybe they wanted to give hope to Tridge, as with the Moroccan storyline when Ridge though about Taylor on daily basis, but maybe Ridge would have been jealous if he had seen Taylor happy with someone else.

In 2005, by the time Taylor returned, the A-story was a new triangle - Nick-Brooke-Ridge. Tridge had to be rewritten to make Bridge formidable.

Eric then tells Beth how in college he had had marriage in mind with Beth, when he had knocked up Stephanie after too much alcohol and had felt pushed to marry her. Eric freely admits that he didn't plan to stay in that marriage but then he had fallen for baby Ridge and couldn't leave anymore.

Why do people keep saying that Ridge and Taylor were married for 3 years?? They were married from 92-94 barely two years bc she "died" in april of 1994
The writers change matters on a whim. Suddenly TRIDGE had 3 happy years together (even when Taylor on screen has spent the last one in Morocco and then as volunteer in LA).
Wait until you get to see little Eric again, because that court decision apparently took years and that sweet boy has grown very much since the swimming lessons with Taylor.

Taylor must be counting her time in Morocco…the year she was gone? Taylor’s plan was to continue on in their marriage…so she’s including her dead time as her still being married to Ridge to make it a more compelling point to influence a positive outcome in her favor from Ridge? 🤷♀️

Well to b fair, if Brooke uses her kids then y shouldn't Steph not use them. Besides like it or not Steph cares more bout those kids much more than Brooke does.
