What do I need to do with MDF before I apply the epoxy?

After the live video is over I somehow found on my phone this area for comments. If you all review questions after the fact I have one. If doing a meld with only 4 colors for a 7 sq Ft vanity (leaving sink in) would I still need to do a tape dam? One edge of existing cultured marble top has about a 3/4 inch drop down slope.
