S, wave shadow zone measurement- From 360° , s wave covers both sides of earth 105°+105°=210°, remained =360°-210°=150° . Now total shadow zone= 150/360×100= 40 approximate. Now s wave does not cover 40 % of earth surface.

I have one doubt sir.. If p waves travels through all the mediums then how the shadow zone arise between 105° and 145° and p waves are uniformly distributed so if refraction takes place then why not in between the specific region???

As far i know what happens is.... when p waves move from the outer core to mantle ,refraction of them occurs due to transition of material medium which creates the shadow region for p waves to this particular area hence not detected in this region.
