Actually Ronnie had the pregnant look for most of his reign, from 2000 onwards. He was a little smaller for his first two Olympia wins in 98/99, but he looked much better overall IMO.
@@joebananas1088 he had a very distended gut from 2000-2004....It was particularly bad in 2001, 2002 and 2004. Then we can just have a 600lbs bowl of muscle Big Lenny with conditioning and call it a winner But i dont think that that is bodybuilding Its not a MUSLE show its a BODY BUILDING show
So by your logic, nick doesn’t even deserve top 3. Since the current champ has the smallest waist and best vacuum along with second place contender hadi choopan

Nick Walker is not an Aesthetic bodybuilder in any way, he has varicose veins that he considers "Normal"...which they are NOT, it's an underlying vascular symptom that Nick will understand is not normal when he's 45-50 and have gotten much worse and multiplied, he's to "Boxy" and his limbs are short. That look in my opinion will never be embraced by The Olympia, and shouldn't be.
I couldnt care less about the veins and i dont hate Nick i love his confidence but if a Fridge wins a show next to a guy built to perfection (and i mean Tonio Martin was also better than Nick) then i do get mad if bodybuilding continues to go in that direction witch i dond belive it will next to Hadi,Derek,Andrew i will stop following the sport
No one likes Shawn Ray, why? Because he speaks the truth. And is not because he’s my favorite bodybuilder, but because he brought a nearly perfect package to the stage, year after year. The only fault was that he was too small compared to other competitors of his era. I still say that the 90s was the best era in bodybuilding because of the quality and competition. 🙌🏾🖖🏾🦾
I agree with shawn. Nick may be top 4-5 bbr today, hell he may even be mr. O down the line but i can't put him on the level of a ronnie coleman, jay cutler, phil heath and other past mr. Olympias.
I agree with Shawn. Nick and other mini hulks like him should not be the face of open bodybuilding. It is not a good look. There needs to be a height divide in bodybuilding again. Mr Olympia should not be below average in any physical way.
He wasn't better. He clearly does have a better silhouette but aside from that he doesn't have a good enough quality and details, he also kind of look soft, while Nick is at the opposite spectrum, that's why he won.
@@ryutenmen no, it was just my opinion, we all complain about the lost beauty of bodybuilding physiques from days gone by and yet judges reward new mutant type builds over better silhouettes. And the point difference was just a point.
Nick looks like he's 6 months pregnant... Ronnie had the same look at the end of his career

Whilst a lot of people still prefer Shawn's physique, mass has naturally evolved in the sport. Each decade brings its own signature.

Lol. Lets see Hell unleashed after Shawn's comment.
Shawn Ray still pissed off he never won a Mr. Olympia title.
Not really as many people.agree with him

Not a fan of Shawn, but he is right on this. Nick is just all wrong, looks like he belongs on a comic book stand.
He looks like a geared up Frodo Baggins.
