@WatchWatchlist the original Pro-V1 was a solid core version of the Titleist Professional 90. It debuted at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. I remember Joe Durant lighting the place up with it. It was touted as drop and stop technology. I think it was 2000. Only a handful of players played it that week. Within a month, almost everyone played it on tour
I played titlest for years and this year I decided to try a callaway and srixon. And after 5 rounds I gave them to my friend who doesn’t play much and went and bought a couple dozen. I thought maybe my game wouldn’t see much of a difference but I was wrong.
yeah you thought the whole craze was just a publicity-stunt that got out of hand dude the original pro-v1 was and still is a legendary golf-ball because it's like hitting a superball, you just don't get that heavy shaft-bending superball feel with most other balls on the market i'm sure there's a few direct copies out there, and Titleist has changed the Pro-V1 themselves, but it really is an awesome ball even if objectively it supposedly doesn't outperform other balls. There's nothing like hitting one.
I was lucky enough to play at a decent club for a while. Whilst there, seeing as I ventured into the rough often. I managed to amass a decent collection of Titleist balls. I play with whatever golf balls are to hand. I don’t tend to keep the balls long enough to notice the difference. However, I heard they are really good but I don’t think my game is good enough to use them as yet.
@@Abdullah_Chill Don't worry about it. People waste thousands of dollars on golf every year. You think they are really going to worry all that much about a $4 golf ball?
Cool story. I'm not sure I believe they are all X-ray'd in today's manufacturing though. They might X-ray the ones they choose to send to the PGA players...but not the ones that can be purchased.
Pro V1x = only ball I've used for 10+ years. As an 11.6, I know it doesn't matter that much these days, but I'm good paying the extra money for the confidence I get outta it. Titleist is the best, bar none.
No, it's not supposed to balance them out. It's supposed to allow you to see if a ball is unbalanced. The ball has to float, so one has to use enough salt to allow the ball to float. Mark the top side of the ball after the ball settles down from the initial drop into the salt water then roll it in the water. If it continues to settle with the marked side upwards it's unbalanced.
Not about cheaper, Titleist sells plenty of cheaper balls too and Top Flight still exists so lots of cheap options. This isn't a case of same factory, same product, different name. There's no pinnacle equivalent or even vaguely similar to a proV1 ball.
From the 14th century on all golf “balls” were off centered… for centuries…. Hundreds off years…..for generations….Titleist was perhaps the first to X-ray them, but for sure someone would get the idea to improve the golf ball…
I knew it! I tell everyone if you roll a Pro v1 in your hand it always finds the center of the palm perfectly. Any other ball didn’t have the same response.
...honestly switching from every other graphic content in this video, to your face? Enough to make me hurl. Sorry but I have to ban your channel for that alone.
my balls move weird too, the xray didnt show anything 😢
Sorry bro but your balls aren't working anymore 😂
💀
Bro is infertile.
it's a battle between various sources of asymmetry related to the attempt.
Top trier comment
Ball has been xrayed so it’s perfect. Ight lemme drive it into water first shot
so you need at least 3 of them just to putt one, now I get it
😂😂😂😂
I like how all sports decide that innovation is good up until like 30 years ago
Bro these bots are wild
Wdym
There is none?
They're still slightly off center. Try the epsom salt bath thing Bryson does. One side is always heaviest.
And the original pro V-1 was renamed to something else. The pro V-1 in stores is a different build.
Bryson didn't pioneer that either. Dave Pelz did. NASA Rocket Scientist turned short game guru. I knew players myself included doing that in 2001
@@WatchWatchlist The original original Pro-V1? Yeah, no duh. They redo it every few years.

The man responsible for creating the 3rd ball
Imagine the workers at Titleist all wearing lead aprons because of the fluorscopy equipment.
Except the company started as Acushnet and for 20+ years their focus was rubber/latex manufacturing not golf.
Sick vid 👍

They state xray all balls on the website, where this story is from.
Cursive writing is still alive!
Did Helen Robinson receive royalties?
Like to collect old Titleist golf balls.
I love pro v1 will never use another ball period. No need to change perfect. Also cool fact about that script being the secretary’s writing!
wow that for such an iconic logotype someone just working there did it!! Helen we kneel
Hard ass origin story
Great info
Old is gold
PRO V1 left DOT. If you hit down on the ball, get these balls now. If you can hahahahahha
Dhoni never steals Credit on camera, he does it off camera.
And they are just like every other ball.
Fun fact - many workers at Titleist glow in the dark.
Remember first time golfing with my dad we were trying to figure out who’s ball was which and he asked what mine said and I pronounced it “tit-list” 😭
Pro V1 is hands down the best golf ball out there.
I've had lots of x-rays but I'm still way off centre.
Thank you .
And at $4 a pop I’ll stick to only playing ones I find in the bushes

And people just leave these balls sitting on the fairway or tee box
Where!?!?! Get me a tee time there!!!
I think you mean in the woods or the creek
@@Michael-uc2pn No I’ve literally found a pair of them on the tee box
Hitting used golf balls (older ones) wont give you distance. Its not worth picking up.
X ray department? 😂
I realize how this will sound, but I can’t hit a Titleist because the thin cursive looks weak on the golf ball 🤷♂️
thats why you should always dip your balls in salt water
What does it do
@@karalama0149 According to Bryson dechambeau its supposed to balance it out

System helped or he made his own.
The Callaway wobblesoft ball 'engineering department' doesn't understand. Could you explain it slower?
It’s not “tit-leeest”
For the longest time I thought it was “Fit-leest”
Just use pinnacle balls, they’re are cheaper and made by Titleist
Not about cheaper, Titleist sells plenty of cheaper balls too and Top Flight still exists so lots of cheap options. This isn't a case of same factory, same product, different name. There's no pinnacle equivalent or even vaguely similar to a proV1 ball.
So it’s the radiation from the x-ray that makes it fly further? 😂😂 Is that the secret sauce?

John 14:6
I think Titleist is a hard ball. Chrome soft all day for me.
I knew it! I tell everyone if you roll a Pro v1 in your hand it always finds the center of the palm perfectly. Any other ball didn’t have the same response.
You need to do some research. They’re still off center. All of them.

Bridgestone is better. Try them.
