you prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf these days xD
Mate to save your spring you need to get the wire inter the spring from were you tied the wire and exit from the other side of the spring coz when you pull the spring out from the pipe the spring will close instead of opening it hope this will help save some bending springs
The first conduit is light gauge not a cheap conduit..yes it's costs less to buy.. you can actually get a slightly larger spring to accommodate the larger hole for the light gauge conduit.
the first conduit isn't sold as light gauge, it's specifically sold as 'heavy gauge' by screwfix and just doesn't compare to the stuff you get from the merchants. Which is a shame because most of the time, screwfix is handier.
Bending over the knee is too tight a radius is what I was taught at college many years ago, I suppose that's what the "superman" method mentioned is for a more gradual radius.
Utter nonsense. Inspection elbows and bends are for sparks that are too lazy to bend conduit or just useless at it. Use the right spring for the type or gauge of conduit. Only takes seconds to bend. I’ve sacked more men who can’t or won’t bend conduit.
Robin Rawson-Tetley I maybe harsh but it’s a high standard we set meaning the jobs we get how big or small they are, will have good reliable men doing them.
If you are using an already kinked spring you won't give a fair test. Having seen some of CJRs video's and some of the stuff he has installed and let slip. SWA with ripped outer sheathing that rather than taking back he moaned about the suppler and installed anyway in one video and a shed install that he got so much grief for he did another video to prove he corrected the work in another left me feeling he was not someone that people should be following as a role model.
I’ve been told at college safe your knee use tight
100% correct see video link below👇🏻

@Jamie Carmelo Yea, I've been watching on Instaflixxer for months myself :)
Lovely Chris! Goes to show we are all taught things differently, and you can only do what works best for you 🤗
Hollie your husband is amazing 👍
Good Effort Chris
Love it. Got a clap at the end for bending some pipe.
Words of my old college lecturer Dave Peachy “ bend it over your knee boy” 👍
CJR ELECTRICAL my dad thinks your great Chris 👍
Nice video 👍. Cheap conduit not worth paying for. Spend the little extra and get the better stuff.
True

Love the applause 🤣
I want to see electricians get a clap in people's homes after each bend from now on! 😁
Was the good conduit Marshall Tufflex?
Sure i read in the spec sheets somewhere that they recommend a heat gun to facilitate smooth bending (unless you enjoy the kinky stuff)
yeh, tried that mate. even on a low heat it leaves marks from the spring on the outside of the conduit.
Nothing to do with cheap conduit... a heavy gauge spring in light gauge conduit will not form properly and cause the conduit to kink.
Is there a brand you recommend as I alway struggle to get good conduit that bends well
To be fair iv always rolled it 3 times acros my knee before bending with my hand never had a problem but some of this conduit now is rubbish
Waw doing this today and I would heat it up so much was hot to touch n bends was still shit
🤦🏻♂️

Yea that's what I thought its different springs for different conduits isn't it
the first conduit isn't sold as light gauge, it's specifically sold as 'heavy gauge' by screwfix and just doesn't compare to the stuff you get from the merchants. Which is a shame because most of the time, screwfix is handier.
Regardless of conduit quality, bending over the knee seems to be stacking the odds against yourself (as the question voiced hints at).
Bending over the knee is too tight a radius is what I was taught at college many years ago, I suppose that's what the "superman" method mentioned is for a more gradual radius.
Superman method every time 👍. See Link

As if this goes up the day after I do it in college

By all means buy the cheap stuff, but use inspection elbows or bends, don't waste your time with the spring.

@@mikeysky8917 Glad I don't work for you! :)

U bend at different points, not just one point with ur knee, thts where u go wrong and thts y the conduit is kinking like tht.
Close your eyes it’s bloody Gordon Ramsey
Kinky Chris 🤣
The cheap PVC conduit will always kink. If using cheap PVC conduit, I find using a heat gun or hair dryer reduces kinks.
This test is flawed.
You should use the same spring on both types of conduit to compare results accurately.
then he wouldnt get the MAIN message across plus weird crowd laughters, not claps...
If you are using an already kinked spring you won't give a fair test.

Does anyone from screwfix know everyone thinks their conduit is shit?
Too sharp
