The Corona Virus outbreak (Covid-19) has resulted in the cancellation of public gatherings. This also cancels the jobs of millions of freelance musicians around the world - people who already don't get paid holidays, sick pay, company pensions, or any other kind of benefit. It's a disaster and has left creative people with no income and little prospect of it for many months, possibly years - there will be no easy resumption after Corona Virus.
CORONAVIRUS IS NOT FUNNY?
If, when watching this video, you see a man laughing at people who are suffering or dying, you need to look again. This video was made by a freelance performer who has lost all his work. No work means no income and uncertainty about your future. This is how it is now for many other creatives, a lot of whom are less fortunate than Rainer - you don't have to be ill to be a victim of Coronavirus.
"If you knew anyone that had suffered, you wouldn't make this video". Rainer Hersch lives in London UK, which has seen a 'tsunami' of cases, including among his close friends and colleagues, and he is in the 'at risk' group, as the result of a long-term medical condition. But rather than being, he chooses to actually conduct the forces of his destruction.
"Yes, but people have died". Every death is a tragedy. On 1st July 1916, during the First World War, 26,000 people died on the first day of the Somme but that didn't stop the soldiers in the trenches using black humour to deal with it www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainm.... Comedy doesn't just check-out when death is involved. Still "JUST NOT FUNNY"? Sorry if this has offended you but not everyone thinks the same as the comments and 'likes' for this video show.

This would be the guy that would be conducting the Titanic ensemble to play “Sit Down, You’re Rocking The Boat” all with a smile on his face! He is funny and amazing. Thank you, Rainer!
I could understand if he threw diamonds, but where did he find toilet papers like that? He must be so rich...!
My uncle died from Covid19, I still found this funny, thank you and stay safe.
Sorry for your loss. Glad you were able to see the funny side. It is not laughing at the afflicted. More a lament for what we as performers have lost.
No one sounded prepared, but Rainer Hersch does.
I bet he has been listening to Chinese musical tendencies for the last few months.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love listening to this Orkestra. Rainer Hersch is wonderful!
You, sir, are brilliant! Kudos to you, your orchestra, and all of the other musicians in the world who are being so adversely affected by this virus. :/ stay safe out there and keep smiling!
"A reaction from the chinese government please?"
*machine gun*
Me: i wonder why
Finally woodwind and brass! .... Working from home 😂
Absolutely love it! British Humor at its very finest! Well done, Rainer Hersch, you made Shakespeare proud! Stay Safe, Stay Home ... and watch UA-cam!
Musical satire is one of my favorite genres and I applaud Rainer Hirsch's brave and witty little ditty in protest of the harm that the Covid-19 has brought to the performance arts so early in the pandemic. As a fellow artist, I would love to see and hear where Rainer's head is at now that the disease has impacted the world so hard and isn't abating.
Absolutely brilliant thank you. I'm sitting on a park bench and laughed so much, glad nobody near me. I shall forward link to my colleagues who are working at home. More please, much more.
Dear Rainer I'm trying hard to explain my family how does it feel like living in covid times. Thanks for making it so much easier for me. 😂😂 Looking forward to seeing another concerto, virtually or not.
You’ve nailed it. Especially when you asked for the reaction of the British government ... “better late than never” 😂😂😂😂👏👏👏
As someone who lives in a state where there have been less than 2,000 cases total, I find this hysterically funny!
This video and all of your other videos are genuinely funny! They make me smile and laugh! Thank you so much for that! What a wonderful gift you've been blessed with!!
Hands down, best musical comedian! You looked unphased by everything.
Amazingly funny! 🤣
Very clever...I love his laugh. He is a brilliant conductor.
So funny, we love it! Watching RH Fan Channel for 90 minutes now with my son and still laughing, thank you!
That’s amazing - thanks for being fans!
hahahaha OMG haven't laughed this hard in a while.. brillant
What a way to keep spirits up! Bravo!
Rainer never stops being hilarious
Very funny. Since conductors are known for the most part to lack a sense of humor on stage, this chap is a relief.
so, is the music sheet online so we can practice at home? The Paracetamol part was kinda confusing to me, sir.
I don't know what it's like where you are. But out here there is a run on Paracetamol. Why? No-one knows. Why toilet roll?
There was an article from ONE source that said the virus was making Ibuprofen ineffective so use an alternative. It was false research but Paracetamol was the prefered alternative. Result? Panic buying.
@@g.cosper8306 you shouldn't take ibuprofen because it works as an immunosuppressor. It's making your immune system less efficient. That's how it makes the fever go down. But then the virus (not just Corona but other too) can easily infect your body and you will fall sick. Even sicker than if you haven't. Paracetamol on the other hand makes fever go down in a other way.
Conclusion: use paracetamol
Ps: panic buying is still dumb

Master!!!! You are, Rainier, the most creative classic director in the world!!!
Bravo!
Great fun Rainer, we need more, thanks! Australia 🇦🇺
That's amazing, Herr Hersch!
From the same person who developed the Windows waltz. His mind seems to say: If it makes a sound, you can create it into music. I'm looking forward to hearing the emergency services samba, though might bring earplugs just to be sure.
The loogey sound really got me 😅
Thank you; levity well needed!
😂 love the flying t.p. and Tylenol

I was lukewarm on it until "cue the toilet rolls!" then I nearly fell out of my chair.
The British government reaction killed me
No, no. The Chinese Government reaction killed you, remember?
Oh my god I love it so much
Genius!
Here's my chance,in Basso to Falseto, through the window, anytime day and night to sing alto voce to my neighbors who, at home sing back. Suddenly with no street noise, just some backup from some wailing sirens, the tune is struck and the results catching on. I am mid block, e.71 btween York and 1st..Tune Up and bring your film crew...
Love it... well done Rainer Hersch #covid19

コロナヴぃるす
[Coronavirus]
The only time brass is that quiet lol
After the concert, may I ask for a refund on the grounds that what should have been a beautiful classical concerto turned out to be a mess? 🤣
Lol
🤣🤣🤣
That's really gross ! LOL
I wonder how much it cost to rent the space? Did anyone test positive in this concert?
Corona spiracy is their to help you smile during quarantine days #stayhome #keepsmiling
Brilliant!!! Been getting the MU notifications. Broke musicians, eh? Whoever heard of such a thing.
Guess you've heard Ronnie Scott's old joke: a jazz musician is traveling north on the M1, a frog is hopping south along the M1. How can you tell which is which? The frog's the one with the gig.
(I usually employ my own musician for the wah wah wah wwaaaaahhhh at the end but he's self-isolating.
I'll share a link to your vid at the end of my next one...more people need to see this.
아 드럽게 디테일하네 진짴ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

DHWHUIDHUIWD THE HEAVY BREATHING IS SO *OFFPUTTING* HELP
That's fantastic!! rotfl
I feel sick!!!!!!!!!!
This sounds like the train carriage that I have sat in commuting for the last twenty years. Actually been quieter since covid came along. Just need to add the annoying youths "like actually" "literally" "baisicly" to get the whole experience...oh and the annoying phone users who seem to need to hear an annoying click to assure them they have pressed the button despite the fact they can see it has worked on their screen,
At times we could use a good laugh. Achoo cough cough.
Bless you!
and the Chinese ....
He looked like as if he is not trying to laugh
Look, it's all very well laughing, but I've got a bloody headache and I've washed my hands 27 times already today. I've got to work from home, and that smug git Gove is getting all the attention. So listen up, cut the comedy, let's all pull together to get this lock-down done, and beat the pesky virus.
Boris Johnson PM lol
cdc wouldnt approve
Some should paly an actual instrument in the audience, so it's as usual just the other way around.
Hil a rio u s
This made me extremely uncomfortable
Poor quality by the way I farted
Please cough into your instruments. And excuse yourselves by saying you're performing a contemporary piece of whatever and, as an artist, you're entitled to your incongruence. Plus toilet paper.
Great to mock this big hoax.
