@ Pink Ball was never in contention for a win to be honest for India. No game practice. Batters not upto mark. If you see in australian team every player from top to 7 no. Everyone can make a century on any given day even if the top order collapses but that’s not the case with India If top order scores big then middle performs otherwise collapse is triggered. And even before 3 NZ test losses at home batting at home was not upto the mark it was just Lower middle used to bail us out and we used win those matches on the back of bowling. Some things I don't agree with Rohit and his strategy: 1) What does he mean by he's not worried about the batting? Every single presentation there is very good reason to question the same. Of course, yes Virat and Rohit are getting older and their tactical thinking and mobility is drastically affecting the team, but Shubman, rahul and others are incapable of sustaining long innings. We don't get any sense of confidence about the way they play whether they can go long term. They scored 30+, but that's not the class of BGT trophy cricket. 2)Bumrah bowled a LOT of overs and he is very very important for the rest of the matches as well. This is glaring that whenever India's batting is in jeopardy, he has to take a lot of additional responsibility to contain the aus team. And Bumrah did it, but how can you expect that he counters everyone everytime?! 3)Biggest joke is Nathan Lyon bowled only 1 over the entire match...What? Is this real? Normally he is brought out after fast bowlers get worn out but our Indian greats got worn out faster than their fast bowlers bowling XD. 4) Again there is going to be an aimless discussion about who should open next test match. This pattern is a bad one. Every time, Rahul does brilliantly and looks confident, immediately when the testing period happens, he falls apart. If someone has seen his previous innings they will be shocked as to how someone's form can plummet within a few days. And it happens all the time. 5) Rohit's form is seriously questionable .He looked very slack and not in a good state of mind about the low light conditions. As a captain, this underconfidence is a serious spot of bother for the indian cricket team otherwise he has to be demoted immediately and in the worse case, permanently replaced. 6) Rohit carefreely seems to thinks that the reporters who ask about whether India are carrying the wounds of the NZ whitewash are to be responded with no. Come on! That series has not gone out of their minds yet. Why can't he atleast acknowledge that with a maybe or it could be? He is hiding that. 7) And his response to "is the loss a scar" is also no. But his reasoning is not adequate. It may not be a scar in itself, but it is worsening the already big scar from NZ series. Your mistake cost us the series 3-0-first time in history. Throughout the series, you dropped catches, scored in single digits, and showed below-average captaincy with poor field placements.
Rohit Sharma will get most of the flak for this test match especially when India had won the first game without him. It is the perfect doom that anyone could have scripted for him. But the truth is India was not ready to play the Pink ball test. It was evident from ball 1. A team that played so well at Perth was struggling to find answers to simple questions at Adelaide. None of the players other than Bumrah where able to match the Aussies at handling the pink ball. I bet this same team will do much better at Brisbane and I know Rohit will give confidence ti his players and the team. I expect no changes other than the spinner choice. It's time to live rohit, just like MSD did in 2014. There are guys who will play better than what you are able to do at the moment.
Some things I don't agree with Rohit and his strategy:
1) What does he mean by he's not worried about the batting? Every single presentation there is very good reason to question the same. Of course, yes Virat and Rohit are getting older and their tactical thinking and mobility is drastically affecting the team, but Shubman, rahul and others are incapable of sustaining long innings. We don't get any sense of confidence about the way they play whether they can go long term. They scored 30+, but that's not the class of BGT trophy cricket.
2)Bumrah bowled a LOT of overs and he is very very important for the rest of the matches as well. This is glaring that whenever India's batting is in jeopardy, he has to take a lot of additional responsibility to contain the aus team. And Bumrah did it, but how can you expect that he counters everyone everytime?!
3)Biggest joke is Nathan Lyon bowled only 1 over the entire match...What? Is this real? Normally he is brought out after fast bowlers get worn out but our Indian greats got worn out faster than their fast bowlers bowling XD.
4) Again there is going to be an aimless discussion about who should open next test match. This pattern is a bad one. Every time, Rahul does brilliantly and looks confident, immediately when the testing period happens, he falls apart. If someone has seen his previous innings they will be shocked as to how someone's form can plummet within a few days. And it happens all the time.
5) Rohit's form is seriously questionable .He looked very slack and not in a good state of mind about the low light conditions. As a captain, this underconfidence is a serious spot of bother for the indian cricket team otherwise he has to be demoted immediately and in the worse case, permanently replaced.
6) Rohit carefreely seems to thinks that the reporters who ask about whether India are carrying the wounds of the NZ whitewash are to be responded with no. Come on! That series has not gone out of their minds yet. Why can't he atleast acknowledge that with a maybe or it could be? He is hiding that.
7) And his response to "is the loss a scar" is also no. But his reasoning is not adequate. It may not be a scar in itself, but it is worsening the already big scar from NZ series.
Going forward, We expect the team's batting to reduce the pressure on Bumrah. By hook or by crook? Will it happen? I personally don't trust this team to go all the way. They win only one more test match but that will mark the end of some of the Indians' careers

When a test match only lasts 2 and a half days, and you still get good crowds by Australian standards, that's why they play it. That's apart from the Adelaide heat. All the players are aware of the conditions, and the spectators enjoyed it. So there are more benefits of continuing with the idea.

I think it's really disappointing that the statement for Harshit Rana doesn't apply to Akash Deep.. Akash Deep was bowling so well in India where pitches don't suit fast bowlers but still he picked up crucial wickets during that.. and now when pitches are favourable to fast bowlers we are opting for Harshit Rana.. who doesn't have that much domestic experience and international test experience.. at least as compared to Akash Deep..

Rohit needs to take responsibility as captain. In the first Test vs NZ in Bangalore, with overcast conditions and a fast pitch, you batted first and picked 2 fast bowlers. Your mistake cost us the series 3-0-first time in history. Throughout the series, you dropped catches, scored in single digits, and showed below-average captaincy with poor field placements.
Rohit Sharma will get most of the flak for this test match especially when India had won the first game without him. It is the perfect doom that anyone could have scripted for him. But the truth is India was not ready to play the Pink ball test. It was evident from ball 1. A team that played so well at Perth was struggling to find answers to simple questions at Adelaide. None of the players other than Bumrah where able to match the Aussies at handling the pink ball. I bet this same team will do much better at Brisbane and I know Rohit will give confidence ti his players and the team. I expect no changes other than the spinner choice. I will keep faith In Ashwin but Washi isn't a bad option. I personally believe Akash deep would be a better choice but I don't think Rana will be replaced this early.
