A month ago, you said you were thinking about adding a Dobby to your project - I expected to see something in about 6 months. I can't believe that you got this all working in 4 weeks! Great job!!!!
Sick! i just found your video about that robot you made to polish 3d printed lenses, ive never subscribed so fast in my life! amazing channel! looking forwards towards more cool stuff you create!
I'm still considering whether to build a larger version. You always have the limitation of the print bed size. But it would certainly be great to have a weaving width of 500mm.
@FraensEngineering If you ever end up making a version like that, I would gladly build one! Ooh also, have you considered using a metal reed? It would make beating the yarn easier because of the weight
Oh man! Its beautiful to see! I love how it turned out! I could see someone printing multiple chains just to save a pattern they like. I actually decided recently to get a new printer very recently, partially thanks to you for inspiration, though I ordered a used Neptune 4 as im on a low budget at the moment. I was looking at that exact machine, but for the stuff I want to print, I dont need multicolor... And I currently dont have the budget. But this does mean i can cannibalize my old cr-10 to use for a loom project! I just need to figure out how to make that work. Though at least it comes with all the electronics I'll need. I might be able to convince my brother who graduated in metatronics to help with that.
I love it! The dobby system is elegant, and since it's pirely mechanical, it is probably more sturdy than an electronic one. I have a question about the shaft selection: is there something that prevents a shaft from being falsely selected? Maybe an elastic?
Do you think that the wrong shaft is selected unintentionally? The individual shank actuators are suspended so that they always move away from the blade. I mean that the pivot point is selected so that it cannot actually happen.

Thank you very much. But I also spent a few hours on it every day ;-)
All that putting it together just to take it apart again!! I do not have that kind of patience! Kudos to you my friend!
Always at work, love the great engineering! I also LOVE my Bambu Labs printers.
Yes, the Bambu Lab printers are really great. I've hardly used my Voron since I got it.

Very cool, thank you very much. I have some ideas for the future. But my projects usually take a little longer ;-)
Very cool😎
This is sick as hell, thank you for sharing!!!
Fascinating. Makes me wonder if I could somehow tweak this to work with my Ashford table room. Something to think about.
Omg, this is truly amazing!
Do you think you might make a slightly larger/sturdyer version in the future?

@FraensEngineering yes, I totally agree, but what if you make some of the parts out of let's say 8mm laser cut wood or acrylic?
Yes, that would be a possibility. I'm thinking about it.

You could set up a small cupboard where you hang the chains. Also a photo of the weaving pattern ;-)
Jaw still dropped 😮😮😮😮 wooow this is unbelievable
The video being an ad aside, it's a very nice project.
A bit of advertising supports my work. As long as it stays in the frame and doesn't seem obtrusive, I think it's fine.
Amazing !
Very cool!

Would this come as updated file on the sales platform?

Muito bom, parabéns
👍👍👍
why dont you make the lever step the chan so you dont have to remember to do it your shelf. still keep the knob to step back or forward if need be.
I don't quite understand what you mean by that. Can you describe it in more detail?
This sort of reminds me of my Orina, it's a toy Jacquard/punch card loom that was phased out by Tomy.
Fancy pot holder maker.
