Just discovered your channel and dang dude, it's not everyday that a tech review says they don't get paid from the company that gave them stuff for review. Excellent job and keep it up! Subscribed as well~
With what source material do you test them ? do you test with classic music ? are you educated in the music department ? what qualifications you have to be able to judge audio capabilities and sound qualities ? and the list goes own.... try to compare them to Philips shp9500s and tell us what you think.
i tried the HD twos from status audio and couldn't be any more disappointed. all the hyper over this company and how amazing there headphones are but when i tried the HD twos hands on they were way to quiet at MAX volume on my phone (i also tried them with my laptop and PS4) and the sound quality was just bad. little to no bass at all and the mids were very muffled. i must have receive a defective fair. im vary hesitant on buying another pair to see if they were defective
I already see a flaw in your review. You were testing the sound of both headphones plugged directly on your iPhone. You are not fully driving those headphones to their potential. You need a headphone amplifier plugged between the iPhone and the headphones to really hear how these headphones sound. Try it again! :)
What are the best headphones for editing / listening (have got great sound quality and bass and stuff ...) but are also good for gaming ( have got good picturing ) within the range of 100-150?
These are great for comfort and audio, the CB-1s were my favorite headphones. Unfortunately almost a year later, they haven't gone through much, yet still worn out. With the left earcup swivel broken and going a full 360 degrees and being very flimsy, and then the right earcup just now losing all audio a couple days ago. I LOVE these headphones, but I'd get them for 50 or less, unless you expect them to die within a year or less. Then by all means, go for them. They are great for while they last. I just wish I got more time out of them :(
I have the Cloud and they are actually pretty good. Especially if you pair it with the sound card Creative Sound Blaster Z, thats true studio for cheaper than $300. But recently actually, had them for 2 and a half years, the cord leading Into headphones has came loose inside i think and plays audio out of one driver. I try to move it so if can play out of two but prob a goner. (Happened to my friends aroun the same amount of time). I haven't seen many people bæ this issue. But they are great for closed back. Haven't tried the Status yet, thats why I am here to see how they perform before i buy the Cloud again
Nope , guys he made a mistake , the philips shp9500 are the best headphones under 100 $, and they even beat more expensive ones ! A lot of people said it , you can search for a review of them , trust me they worh it !
I have the kraken neon from when they were made (like 2 or 3 years ago, I am not sure) and I also use Razer Synapes and I must say it is a great purchase.
So if i'm on, for example, a bus with the ob-1's, will it leak sound to the level of people around me being able to listen to everything? Or is it just leaking to the level of slight humming noise (noting that public transports and outside in general are noisy which covers up some leakage)
Now these OB / CBs are unavailable on Amazon, especially in Europe. But I got Samson SR850 for under EUR 50. They are open back with 50mm drivers. They are really good quality rip-offs of some other designs. But beware that some Chinese companies are creating rip-offs of SR850. Mine have soft velour pads. The upper part was too springy, so the headphones pressed on my ears too much (and I have a small head), so I widened them by leaving stretched around a large pillow overnight and now I've been using them for a year as my main working headphones 10 hours a day (I'm a programmer). On head-fi forums these headphones are compared to much more expensive ones and the general consensus is that SR850 is unbelievably good thing for its price. www.head-fi.org/threads/samson-sr850-superlux-oem-review-a-50-budget-champion.546544/ Of course, it was some years ago and maybe today better options exist. The only thing that causes problems - in a year or so cable gets stiff from bodily oils and I had to solder them once.
Guys, i really don't know what to get. I want some good headphones (preferrably over-ear) to use everyday with my phone. I mostly listen to rock and metal music if it is any help. What do you suggest? I'm willing to give around 100 - 120€. Thanks in advantage.
Someone needs to do a ( best do it all) all around headphones for under $150 -$100- and $50. I've been trying to find some. All the videos are for DJ headphones, gameing, bluetooth, noise canceling, open, closed, but that's so confusing for the person like me just want a good pair of headphones to play games on my phone and listening to music. Please someone do a video.
the ath-m40x's are absolutely amazing. I have had them for a year and have listened to m50's as well. To me, the m40x's actually sound better. The m40x's are the best headphones under 100$
Not really, he made he's presenting 2 pairs of headphones that he believes are the best for under 100 dollars. It doesn't say. best out of a top 5 list.
+kidblazer16 mere cioncedence. It happens to a lot of youtubers, This company want to get more know, which is the core reason they send him these headphones. It's called marketing. Do you really think they send it to one youtuber?
i Choose OB1 Kenobi... "May the Force be with you"
Asorin good one
Lol
aha is funny
XD

The spring on the cable provides strain relief for the cable where it enters into the plug. It doesn't prevent anything from coming loose.
So do you recommend saving a bit of & and buying the CB-1s rather than the M50x?
With what source material do you test them ? do you test with classic music ? are you educated in the music department ? what qualifications you have to be able to judge audio capabilities and sound qualities ? and the list goes own....
try to compare them to Philips shp9500s and tell us what you think.
Do you recommend either of these headphones for people with big ears? I have pretty big ears and the ATH-30X's hurt my ears really bad
I think of buying an AKG K240 mk ii , are they better than those you're proposing ?
so CB-1 vs ATH-m50x? which is better in noise cancelling, portability, sound?
Do you think these would be good for metal or rock music
Hi i'm looking for headphones for metal aswell, have you found anything yet ?
2016 and headphone manufacturers still don't understand that detachable cable is a MUST ALWAYS
I went with the m40x's instead of these. Do you think that was a good decision?
I prefer M40x over M50x..I sold my M40x though
i'd go for shp8000 but m40x's are also good
Is the quality better than hyperx cloud pros is my question
This is the best review I could find because he actually gives a straight answer.
this channel is awesome dude, keep it up!
Love the lava lamp. How is Final Cut Pro?
I've never worn ob headphones before but the OB-1 seems like a solid choice regarding price and sound quality.
Do they cb 1s come with a case or can u recommend a case?
i tried the HD twos from status audio and couldn't be any more disappointed. all the hyper over this company and how amazing there headphones are but when i tried the HD twos hands on they were way to quiet at MAX volume on my phone (i also tried them with my laptop and PS4) and the sound quality was just bad. little to no bass at all and the mids were very muffled. i must have receive a defective fair. im vary hesitant on buying another pair to see if they were defective
Are you able to use a different, normal 3.5mm cable for the CB-1?
I suppose this is more of a studio style review but my number 1 under 100 would be Grado SR80e. You can pick up the SR60s for $79 now. Insane.
I already see a flaw in your review. You were testing the sound of both headphones plugged directly on your iPhone. You are not fully driving those headphones to their potential. gmlasam well I️ think most people would carry a portable amp with these headphones
For sub 100 dollar headphones? These aren't 650s or anything..
Whats the name of the song(s) you used to test these with?
The CB-1s is it over hear???
Anyone know if these are decent for mixing?
What are the best headphones for editing / listening (have got great sound quality and bass and stuff ...) but are also good for gaming ( have got good picturing ) within the range of 100-150?
Not sure yet but you check out ath-m40x
@@krisjanio309 I know that those are pretty good but some people complain that they arent really comfortable
btw, im searching for the same type of headphones that you are, really hard to decide which ones to get
@@krisjanio309 have you got some other ideas?
@@PeterOlexa_ Sennheiser HD 461G are normal but cannot tell for sure, been reading only reviews

please. don't . No. please. ITS PREFERENCE!!!! .
sorry you made me do it
Durrant miller I said its preference and i know they are good. But ok
Visatron Sorry I was talking to the other guy saying how the guy in the video probably hasn't heared of them
they are compared to HD600..they are good..insanely good value..they go as low as 60 dollar sometimes.
SHP9500's would cost me 140€ in Spain and I don't want to spend that much, do you have other recomendations for under 100$?
Can you use either of these for gaming
U r the best guy to watch when it comes to tech👍🏻
Would you recommend these for gaming? Mostly csgo so I need to hear enemies and where they are.
And nice video :)
If you want hedphoones 4 gamyng you will need open back headphones
Mateos Shek But I need to buy closed back because I cant make too much noice and I dont want people to hear what Im doing :D
+Joel check out z reviews.
If you're gaming. Razer Kraken Pro no doubt. I've had them for 1,5 year now and they're just amazing. Especially if you use razer synapse
I have the kraken neon from when they were made (like 2 or 3 years ago, I am not sure) and I also use Razer Synapes and I must say it is a great purchase.
***** It's not the best headset but ofc for 100 bucks you really get what you pay for.
whats better ob-1 or grado 80
Not much review yet about the Altec Lansing Kickback and Evolution headphones. Anyone has experience on either of these two?
These (CB variant) or HyperX Cloud II? For gaming? :P
So if i'm on, for example, a bus with the ob-1's, will it leak sound to the level of people around me being able to listen to everything? Or is it just leaking to the level of slight humming noise (noting that public transports and outside in general are noisy which covers up some leakage)
They will be able to hear you if you listen to loud music in a quiet area. Mean they will be able to hear your music
what about the Sennheiser 4.50g it's under 100$ if I'm not mistaken.
OB-1 or ATH-M40X?
Can u replace the ob 1 pads to leather ones?
Definitely check out the Philips SHP 9500 headphones. Great especially for the price. Newegg had them for 60 bucks

Is the audio technica m40x any good?
Comparison against the Philips SHP9500 and the Sennheiser HD 518 would be cool
these or razer kraken pro?
are these good for games like csgo?
Hell nah you took My cookie!😩

VMODA LP2s
Or the Urbanite XL over ear
+UnhandyBirch656 I'll check them out. Thanks.
Ugh metal
+Kyle Ren It all comes down to personal preference bud.
Philips SHP9500 personally my daily drivers, compare to some really good cans, check em out before they go!
Personally, I would choose the Sennhieser HD 461 headphones. One of the best value for money headphones ever.
Uiisii Hi905 will wipe floor with those two headphones
Audiotechnica M30x are absolutely amazing for their price!
You don't use a DAC/AMP?... :/
The open back ones look like bangerz, too bad they don't have detachable cable :(
M50x it is I THINK
When r u going to do the $400 double monitor setup
You should do a Best Headsets for Under $100 for people who want to play online games and talk to people without buying a separate Microphone.
Can you use these for gaming??
AceX you can use anything for gaming, however, open back are better because you could pin point where the enemy is more easily
CubeSlice okay thanks, I'm getting the sennheiser hd 598 :D
I searched after some new pair of headphones under 100 euros for 3 days, thank you so, so much :)
Which is better for gaming I see they are both great for music so now I just need the one with best surround
KyleFES the OB1s
audio-technica ath-m40x nice under $100
W... Why are you filming a greenscreen video in front of desk when you could just stand next to the desk???
What about M40x?
theyre way different from the m50x, theyre not bad, just kinda boring to listen to
actually it is the oposite of what you think
damn m50x is overrated. m40x has wider soundstage and refined treble.
Two shits worth comfortable :P
Rik Lucci seriously?
I have the audio-technica ATH-m30x and they hurt my ears, so I need a pair with bigger ear cups.
Should do a "best workout headphones" video!!!
Didn't pay you anything but they did give you $300 worth of headphones and accessories.
Hard not to count that as a material gain...
The hyperX cloud 2 is great aswell :D

okay I'll leave now...
Cringe
They're ugly
Edgy
Piston 3 FTW!!!
That's a product placement right?
When you don't have enough money, but you really want it.
HD558 vs the ob 1's?
I would buy the OB1s, but the red ruined it.
Great channel!
Why is the Triton AX 180 not with this that is THE best under 100 dollar
How about the audio technica m40x
I'd go with the CB1s
thanks! why you didn't choose the m20x ? if you like audio technica. ...
The Obi Wans!
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
The OB-1 or hd 518?
Ob-1 I have experience
Plantronics RIG 500e. Just saying.
Hey Matt, can you check out the Symphonized Wraith 2.0?

These are good but not as good as the Coby CVH-89s..
This or the Ath m40x?
the ath-m40x's are absolutely amazing. I have had them for a year and have listened to m50's as well. To me, the m40x's actually sound better. The m40x's are the best headphones under 100$
for music without heavy bass or bass oriented .. they are amazing .... for gaming not the best because of zero soundstage but it works !
What lava lamp is that.
The OB-1 looks like the LyxPro OEH-10, which costs $30 lower.
never heard of them, how good?
I meant they are probably the same thing, with different branding (sorry for the late reply!).
not available to get shipped to Norway :(
+VikeN Eyy team Norway
Mikkel Svartveit yeah, but we aint got shit tho :( But i still got my hands on these anyway, yeyy!
+VikeN how?

VikeN well how mutch more expensive will it bee?
SHP9500 FTW!
You should do some earbuds under 150$
