    Such a humble, accepting and open expression - "Please see through my eyes, please hear through my ears, please speak through my voice, please heal through my presence." An ideal intention setting exercise - thank you.

    Perfect info! If the client wants answers and, the coach is giving them, this is not coaching. Think of it as a client coming to you with a map (life map) and they can't read it or see all of it. Your job, as a coach, is to point to those places on their map to help them get to THEIR destination. The coach does not take away the client's map and hand them a new one saying 'this is your destination.'

I am beginning my journey to becoming a transformational life coach myself but haven't started to train or take courses. I do know it's what I've been called to do in this life though. I am so excited to check out your diamond course you are launching in September. Thank you for all that you are. Xoxo

    I have explored many life coaching videos, and can say with all honesty, that this was the most beneficial for my own purpose. I have been coaching for more than 30 years, and am finally committed to seeking it as an income source. I am currently working on improving the areas I know I need to work on, and this video touches on those areas. Thank you Ms. Krestow.

    Ahw maaan, Veronica, as having sat with you in so many session when I was deeply struggling, to have a place where you can be SEEN! It´s not about having the right answers, it´s asking the right questions! To accept everything the way it is. Self-judgement is such a stumbling block and to have somebody say to you "It´s ok." makes me bawl every single time. Thank you so much for being out there!!!

    Easy but not easy. The Buddhists say the Truth is 'too close, too simple, too obvious', so we miss it. Listening is a bit like that. Really easy, but really new to us. Reminds me of a story...the great enlightened sage Ramana was asking his students, "What do you think is the greatest obstacle to enlightenment?" One said, "Fear". Another said, "Ignorance." And then Ramana said, "The obstacle is distraction." :-). Wonderful video, btw!

    I thought a life coach was something else. I thought it was a person that helps to jump start you into the life you really want to live. I always imagined a life coach like an exercise personal trainer in a gym. Some people are in their own way. They don't have the answers and they come to you to see them from the outside in. To sort of being someone you have to be held accountable for if you procrastinate and fall back to old habits that are sabotaging their life. My therapist sits and nods and is on my side with everything I say. After a while I thought, "Well I'm at the same place I started. What are the answers?" Lol. Still "liked" your video.

    oh another piece I can share: Eckart Tolle talks about "whole body listening". Basically it's a practice. You first put attention into YOUR whole body - and then listen to the other - as if you are listening to them with your whole body. This is very powerful if combined with breathing consciously. It is also recommended to practice this throughout the day - feeling the inner body. Not just when with a client.

    WOW! Amazing. I had an amazing opportunity to exercise this today. I’m not a professional life coach but there’s 4 or 5 people in my life that always come to me for “advice” and I try not to give advice but maybe lead them to their own power so they walk away with real conviction not something I told them to do and they love it. It did actually take me a long time to be able to present the information to them in a way that showed understanding instead of allowing the intellect to over ride. This is such a good lesson for me. Deep listening. Thanks !

    Most of the Life Coaches I've found on UA-cam are what I'd call "Plastic People". In other words, they are not real. What I mean by that is that they are not genuine people. They are just after money and hide themselves behind a wall of "Perfection". I can't stand such people.
    This person, Ms. Krestow, on the other hand IS genuine. She is the type of person I'd be willing to hire as Life Coach. I wish her much success.

    • @VeronicaKrestow22
      @VeronicaKrestow22  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for your comment, Matt. In my perspective. it is only natural to suggest solutions and actions steps to clients. This is part of coaching. However, the approach is everything. For example, rather than telling a client "you should do this..." I like to preface any suggestions with, "For your consideration, one option is to practice ____ or you might explore using this tool. How does that sound?" This leaves it in their court and empowers the client to choose for themselves. The foundation is deep listening and loving guidance and suggestions spring from there. Light ahead to your valuable coaching practice, Matt.

    How is this any different than counseling?

    • @VeronicaKrestow22
      @VeronicaKrestow22  6 років тому +6

      In my perspective, in both counseling and coaching there is a foundation of deep listening. The conventional difference is that counseling tends to focus on the past and coaching tends to focus on future goals. In Diamond Process™ Coaching, there is an emphasis on awakening to the present moment which is highly supportive in both cleaning up old limiting beliefs and stepping into one's full potential.

    • @katyp855
      @katyp855 6 років тому +3

      @@DAVEYDEEPOPS123 NO!! a counsellor never gives advice! Counselling is much more complex than coaching and is definitely not just about looking at the past. I am studying a degree in both counselling and coaching and can tell you that counselling has so many benefits that coaching doesn't. A true masterful coach should be able to access tools that can help people with the root cause of their issues so that they can look forward.

    • @katyp855
      @katyp855 6 років тому +2

      @@Chocolatilya that is 100% incorrect. A counsellor should never give advice and if they are then they are not properly educated. Counselling models are intricate and have more applications than coaching. A masterful coach should have an academic background in counselling or psychology. People are complex, take ptsd for example, coaching is not the right approach for these clients, they need a space where they can truly unravel the trauma without the premise that the only way forward is to look forward. Counselling offers both past and future aspects. Look up person-centred therapy or CBT or Gestalt or psychodynamic or existential...these are just a few examples of how a counsellor is NOT trained to give advice.

      Cathy Clarke thank you for the reply. I saw that course online, however I'm based in Queensland. How long does the course go on for?

      its done on line and face to face. it can be as quick as 5 months. I work full time and it taken me longer. They hold training in Brisbane, Sydney Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide. once you sign up you get access to the tools and a Facebook group. you meet amazing people and trainers along the way. I believe you find the training that is best from you when you have a clear intention. Just open up to the possibility of What is. Reach out to Glen and Phone: 1800 424 556. Just start the conversation. Good luck..

      We have students from around the world. The lessons are done online at your own pace and we also meet for live practice sessions, which are on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. PST. This is late Australia-time, but we have a student in Dubai currently who simply stays up late on those particular live sessions. Our next course begins on 3/3/18. Wonderful Video!! You mentioned that you did a two year spiritual psychology program. Could you share where you did that? It sounds like somewhere I would like to start and then move into coaching. I am in Australia, however, I'd like to start with learning some counselling skills. Thanks xox
