True! We did that for the train in Skagway. I think the direct rate for this tour is still better than the 10% boost, but for folks who enjoy the ship excursion “protection” that’s worth a shot!! :D
We've always thought that was important and try to include it when we can. Sometimes the gangway area is so rushed and hectic that we miss some of it, ha ha... but we try!! :P
There’s a cruise that I saw on videos that goes from Hawaii to Alaska! Y’all should check that out. That quieter style of cruising that Holland America does is perfect for Alaska, imo. The scenery is the star; their ships are really designed to maximize views of the ocean, without background music. When you want music, you can find live music at one of the bars or Rolling Stone or BB King.
Sure wish we had gotten to meet up with you but we got in early and left early. I loved the Spirit. This was the best whale watching day for us! A beautiful day. We saw 10 bubble net feedings. Unheard of!
The whales were so active that day in Juneau, and we encountered that same group a couple of weeks later in Icy Strait Point... they just kept feeding and feeding! Yow!! :D
Whale watching and picture taking simultaneously I have found is very difficult. If you are lucky enough to get great shots go purchase a lottery ticket.
I took the Alaska Tales whale watching (opposite side of the pier from Juneau lighthouse) and had a blast! Whale watching is definitely the thing to do in Juneau no matter who you use...
Our favorite whale spot is Icy Strait Point by far, but Juneau is always a winner! We've seen the most cow/calf pairs and babies there in Auke Bay!! :D
So 10 days ago I did an excursion in Juneau, and as we were on the excursion this video jumped into my mind as I didn’t realize when I booked this excursion that it would be the same things that you did. I was so thrilled we did this same lighthouse and whale watch that you did. Dalton was our captain also. I asked the crew if they were with you and they explained there was a different crew in your excursion. They also said they loved watching your video and were thrilled to learn about your channel. So fun! 😎
Would love to do an Alaska cruise. I think after our southern Caribbean coming up in March we will look into a transatlantic sailing to Rome or Greece.
Ooooh, nice! We've got Mediterranean scheduled for the end of summer next year, and we're excited for it. Hope you have a blast planning your future fun!! :D
Of all the whale watching videos I have watched from several of you cruise vloggers you guys had the most exciting one! Can't wait to take my dream Alaska cruise in a few years.
You guys have the greatest adventures! When were you there? We were there in July (on the HAL Volendam) and there was a heatwave while we were there. No rain until our return sea day and the day we were in Juneau (14th) it was 25C/77F and people were in shorts and tank tops and getting sunburns. It was amazing!
That was craaaaazy, and spoiler alert... we've got an even crazier day coming up a couple of serieseses from now, ha ha... she would have loved to jump in and pet her whaley friends, I'm sure!! :P ~Jay
Loved your outing that you took! I will definitely keep that in mind for when I visit Juneau next May. It will be my second trip there and something different to do. 🥰
We loved having the two-in-one feel with both whale watching and the lighthouse, plus this group is the only one that can get you access to the lighthouse, apparently. We had a great time overall! Have fun plotting your future adventures!! :D
I absolutely love the endings to all your vlogs with the pictures. Dee you’re an amazing photographer. Have you cruised to Alaska the first of May? If so, how would you compare that to cruising to Alaska in late summer? Do you see as much wildlife? How’s the weather? Thank you both for amazing content.
Thankee! Yes, we did Carnival Legend in May 2019 and Radiance Of The Seas in May 2022... still probably our favorite time of year for Alaska, though it's colder and there's not as much wildlife roaming around in terms of bears and salmon. You've still got whales and eagles and such though!! :D
Love all your videos especially the Alaskan ones! What month was this? Would love to go at the same time of the year to have this same experience with the whales! 🐳🐋
We put the date in the upper left corner of every video, as well as in the description, for the curious! We were the very end of July fringing on the first of August.
We always forget the exact model number, but we put it in the video description for the tech-curious, ha ha. It's a small Canon Powershot point-and-shoot with 40x zoom that has served us well over the years!! :D
I was wondering if you could give names of private sight seeing tours for St Lucia, Martinique, and Antigua. I can't walk to much use a wheelchair. I'll be on Enchanted Princess from 12/8 - 12/17. Thank You for any help. I would really like away to see the islands.
Ahhh, with mobility challenges, we usually recommend going through the ship and finding tours marked specifically as suitable for your accessibility needs. We haven't run into too many independent vendors that we've personally used in those ports where we've been able to verify how accessible their tours are!!
I love that excursion but quick question. I have asthma but the ppl i travel with would love this. Is it possible I stay on the boat while they do th walk to th lighthouse?
Aha, it’s unlisted, so even with the channel address, you wouldn’t see it. From the original hypnosis episode (which I believe was a Carnival Pride 2019 vlog) you’ll find the secret video link in the description!! :P
you could have taken advantage of Carnival's 110 % guarantee for shore excursions.
True! We did that for the train in Skagway. I think the direct rate for this tour is still better than the 10% boost, but for folks who enjoy the ship excursion “protection” that’s worth a shot!! :D
Thanking you yet again for remembering us mobility challenged folk by showing us the steps and ramps ❤
We've always thought that was important and try to include it when we can. Sometimes the gangway area is so rushed and hectic that we miss some of it, ha ha... but we try!! :P
Dee, love your photos of the whales and scenery.
Thanks so much!! :D

Yes, we did the Hawaii to Alaska cruise on Norwegian Spirit. Such a unique itinerary!! :D
Sure wish we had gotten to meet up with you but we got in early and left early. I loved the Spirit. This was the best whale watching day for us! A beautiful day. We saw 10 bubble net feedings. Unheard of!

Me and my wife call the "clam shell" seats... Cuddle Pods. ❤
Such a cozy spot to hang out and do much of nothing!! :D
So neat thank you
That is a beautiful excursion.
The whales were super excited to see us (and their food) that day!! :P
WOW!!!
Whale watching and picture taking simultaneously I have found is very difficult. If you are lucky enough to get great shots go purchase a lottery ticket.
That's where one of those newfangled 360 cameras can come in handy. Except they don't zoom as well as a "normal" camera.
I have one and agree with you totally.
It's sooooo tough to get good shots with wild nature, ha ha... but super cool when you snag something good!! :D
I took the Alaska Tales whale watching (opposite side of the pier from Juneau lighthouse) and had a blast! Whale watching is definitely the thing to do in Juneau no matter who you use...

Absolutely beautiful I cry just seeing the whales on video thanx so much Dee and Jay!
We love getting to see some nature doing its thang out in the wild. Always a super cool moment!! :D
love from Indiana
Relaxing for 2 hrs watching the sunset is the reason I love cruising. Doing nothing but absorbing the moment. Love it. ❤️
It doesn't make for good video content, but it makes for good memories!! :P

Those whales were some of the most excited feeding groups that we've ever seen... super cool to witness!! :D
OMG that’s a lot of whales! ❤ it! I love those clamshell seating. Perfect with those views and beautiful sunset!
Those were some of the most active whales we had seen with the bubble net feeding, other than in Icy Strait Point. Crazy!! :D
Great video! When I was there a couple of years ago they told us the whale activity was “once in a decade”. Hmmm. Glad you had a great time!!
Funny, I'm sure they say that a lot when the whales are doing the super cool whaley things, ha ha... but it was definitely awesome to witness!! :P
We really love your videos. Thanks for sharing!❤️
Thankee thankee! Glad to have you along for our craziness!! :D

Last week of July and it was hottttt those first few days!! :P
Great pictures Dee!!!!
Thankee thankee!! :D
Shut the actual up! The feeding! Shocked mermaid D didn't jump in!

Oops sorry. I tried to look but not seeing anything. But thanks for the response!
Jay Sweet Caroline is the price you pay for cruising so much. Laugh every time you react to it.😂😂
BA BA BAAAAH!! :P
What month did you go on this cruise? That tour looks wonderful.
We put the date in the upper left corner of every single video, as well as in the video description, for the curious!! :D
What kind of camera is Dee using to take photos of the whales? I am looking for something smaller like that.
We always forget the exact model number, but we put it in the video description for the tech-curious, ha ha. It's a small Canon Powershot point-and-shoot with 40x zoom that has served us well over the years!! :D

Sure! One crew member always stayed back with the boat for any folks who didn’t want to do the climb and the lighthouse bit. :D
Jay and Dee, Where is the secret channel so I can see Dee and the hypnotist?
Aha, it’s unlisted, so even with the channel address, you wouldn’t see it. From the original hypnosis episode (which I believe was a Carnival Pride 2019 vlog) you’ll find the secret video link in the description!! :P
@@parodeejay thanks for the reply! Will check it out!
