Anesthesiologist becoming hospital employees does not allow better patient care and better patient safety. That’s fundamental to anesthesia and that’s a typical healthcare system lie….. it all comes down to controlling money. They will hope the current group will agree to join the hospital and usually the terms are not favorable for physicians. That’s one of the current fundamental problems in Medicine. Using traveling, anesthesiologist a.k.a. locum is a tragic move, as most of those folks are not very good. I reiterate, not very good, and a tragic move, especially for a level one trauma center.
