How much do you think it’s appropiate to charge someone ? My main door is a multi t lock . The outside lock keeps turning and doesn’t to engage the latch that allows to lock the door . Sometimes it works sometimes doesn’t , it keeps turning. Got a quote from someone but I’m scared of being scammed and the guy ask me to change the entire lock, when I think it is not needed .

It isnt just a job you can jump into,it takes years to learn about products ,regulations, different techniques and the skills involved. Little things like on this door if you dont inform them that the door doesn't meet current fire door regulations you could possibly end up in court on a manslaughter charge if someone were to die in a fire. Even though you didn't fit the door as the last person to work on it you have signed off to say the door meets regs.
Does the lock matter because I got quoted 59pound then when he come he said that it’s a secure Yale lock and it will cost 300pound. Was this guy trying to scam me
I’m sorry to hear that, it’s getting frequent. I had to attend a job the other day where they drilled out the lock and they wanted to charge another £200 for the lock 🤦🏻♂️
@@yourlondonlocksmith1697 it puts you in tricky situation because if you're locked out you're house at like 12pm then you're going to want to get in so you end up paying the money I guess. But should not be ripping people off...
Locksmiths don’t seem to get the respect they deserve. We’re an after thought until one is needed. Then the public calls the scammers cause they advertise a cheap price. I recommend find one or two legit locksmiths and have them stored in your phone. If or when the time arises you’ll have a legit licensed locksmith who’s trained to get you in at flat rate price. A real locksmith will tell you what it’s going to cost and stick to the price for a lockout
Without doubt this was done before by quick fix locksmiths? They just scammed my mum out of £930 for a simple upv lock barrel that wasn’t even needed!!!
Shame on them. A 3 star anti snap lock is approximately 30 or 40 pounds, but you can buy a cheaper one for a few quid if you wished and it only take a couple of minutes to replace.
as I registered Locksmith myself, it seems a little odd that's the people would leave the lock and night latch behind and looking at that even an unqualified untrained driller killer as opposed to an actual Locksmith would not be drilling. Those two points, but underneath to make all the pins drop. seems a very odd video to be publicising. I would be interested in you publishing the name of the company that did this work just to show that this video is potentially legitimate.

Yeah I think they were trying it. That’s usually their tactics. Quote a low price then increase when they get there.
This happened to me recently they said on the phone it would cost 50 quid and ended up charging me almost 450
