I've been a prison officer for five and a half years. Not a week goes by where I haven't marched someone to reception for discharge, knowing FULL WELL that they haven't changed and will commit new offences almost immediately after release. Those ones always come back and with more victims of crime created. Charlie on the other hand, is an old man who has spent 50 years segregated in high security. I'm not at all convinced by the reasons given for keeping him locked up at this point.

the system ain't broken it's working exactly as it's designers intended, same for government itself or indeed any part of the system it's intended purpose is to keep the population down, divided and beaten.
i feel for the genuine people (like yourself) who get involved with it attempting to 'earn' a living and hoping to do some good along the way, most often, never quite realising that any promises of being able to do good are no more than propaganda and any attempts to achieve their most noble Wish or effect change will be blocked with whatever level of prejudice is required.

Witch is not his fault. Hes done his time but the last thing the man needs is some little girl on a power trip making his decisions for him. There's alot worse than him walking the streets. Just don't add up to me. But sadly even if he is released they will pick at him until he explodes. My dad was exactly the same. So I get it.

I was inside with the founder of Kenco coffee which he told me stands for the Kenyan coffee corporation and he was in his mid 60’s in 2002 and he’d served 29 years but he refused to admit his guilt as he told me he had not murdered his business partner. His own Son got him put back in to a C cat after he grazed him up for having 1 drink on a day release when he was a D cat. His own son wanted his dads money now and he grassed his own dad up. A lot of people exaggerate who they are or the crime committed but he didn’t have to show me his paperwork but he did and from reading it full on for a week I’ve no idea how he was found guilty. I’d love to know what’s happened to him as he’d be about 88 now or deceased. But he was institutionalised. They did very little to get him ready for the outside world. Very sad as it is also with Charles Bronson who’s legal team I worked with until he took an art teacher hostage then things never progressed over the next 20 years. Nice vlog Sam. All the best. I've just watched it, It makes me sick, that Bamby fella as thrown Charlie under the bus. I agree with you, I don't think Charlie would be a threat to anybody if he was allowed to be free and get on with his life. It's prison that's making him like he is. In their you end up acting a certain way just to get through it.

bottom line here is there is no reason he should be kept in prison, none at all, doesn't matter what the parole board said he should have been let out, there is nothing more the prison can do and they have had enough time, they could have granted realise and put him on house arrest for 1 year or whatever, just something that isnt solitary, my feeling is they could have done that.....but they are holding a personal grudge, and its there for everyone to see

Have avoided reading owt else on the subject today. Figured I'd wait for our man Sam to speak the truth 💪
This outcome is all kinds of wrong. I'm not one for holding criminals in high regard just because they wrote a book or had their story turned into a movie, but I feel absolutely gutted for Charlie. 🙁
The man deserves a chance, but he just isn't being given the opportunity; and when you think of the k/fiddlers and rapists being let loose, it truly makes the blood boil.
I dread to think how Charlie must feel...
Give Steven my best regards. 👍
