Substitute for denatured alcohol: In California you can no longer purchase denatured alcohol (air quality issue), which is recommended in this video for cleaning up unhardened epoxy around hinges. I ran some tests with other solvents and found that the Clean Strip brand Brush Cleaner worked well. Test was run with 30 minute epoxy applied to wood, and also to Solarfilm brand Monocoat-like covering. I let the epoxy cure for 5 minutes before attempting to remove with the solvent. There was no damage or discoloration to the covering material and no residue. The brush cleaner is mostly acetone, so I assume acetone (which is available in California) would also work, but I didn't have any handy so it was not tested. I also tried Paint Thinner, which did not work well.
Thank you for your videos. You are doing a Great Job. Keep making Videos.
