On the servers I have landed there are an amazing number of new players recently. Many of the main events however go unattended or have a majority of low level players and the the events fail. I assume this will change as the newer players level up. If they become regular players that will be great for the game.
Sounds like they need some kind of tier system for those main events so you can only join if you are a certain level. I have never played Fallout 76 but its on the list! Always wanted to check it out.
100% Agreed. Especially considering this update doesnt bring much in terms of performance or visual improvements to the game. I turned off updates just to be safe.
I play on PC. Does this resolution upgrade also mean enhanced textures to models and game world. What I mean is, I would use a variety of HD texture pack mods from Nexus. So would this make the graphics look as good, if not slightly better, then what those texture pack mods did. Same for Enhanced Lights and FX mod. Thanks for any help on this.
It just updates the resolution for console players. I don't even think they are messing with textures just enabling higher resolutions for the PS5 and Series X. As far as I can tell the PC version only brings support for widescreen monitors. I would turn off updates if I were you and continue to use the texture packs and lighting mods off Nexus until we know for sure if this update will break existing mods.
I was thinking the same. Works great on my Steam Deck. Im hoping it means they are going to adjust the UI for a better experience on the smaller screen of the Steam Deck.
@@circuitscore what I reallllllly wished for even when it first came out was a fov slider. Dems laser rifles take up so much of the damn screen makes me not want to use them
@jellykid So technically you can change the FOV but its not the most user friendly. Find the fallout.ini file. On windows its in My Documents\My Games\Fallout 4. Not sure where it would be on the Steam Deck. Add the lines fDefaultWorldFOV or fDefault1stPersonFOV under [Display] section. The lines under [interface] will not work. These change first or third person. Default it 80 making this number larger will adjust the FOV out more. Id start with 100 and tweak from there. Alternatively you could open console command with ~ and type FOV 85 100 but you have to do this everytime you launch the game. 85 for the Pipboy and 100 for the world view.
Yeah that seems to be the trend. At least console players will get official 60fps update without any mods or downscaling which is always a welcome improvement. Not much added for PC player since we already have 4K 60fps.
@@circuitscore I'm happy for the console players. And, at least us pc gamers get a little free stuff too, so that's coo lol. A nimce ENB, folliage mods, and a few basic mods really makes it the next gen experience for me. 7900 gre 4k no problem.
@@DaveTheeMan-wj2nk Yeah really not a big update for the PC minus the DLC content and widescreen. Make sure to disable updates if you play on steam. Or at least make a backup of your game files just in case. Hopefully it doesnt break a lot of mods but its highly possible.
Can Bethesda just stop touching their games? This shit already exist.. as mods..optional.. mods.. non-game breaking mods... Mods that works with other mods...
Im excited that people are playing Fallout again but on the other hand 100% agreed. They need to retire these 10+ year old games so that we can continue to mod in peace.
They got me back in with the Steam sale 😅 but now I have to wait to start fresh when this drops
Same here! Also grabbed 76 with Atlantic DLC. I couldn't help myself to wait and already started a fresh game of Fallout 4 😂

Let's hope this update doesn't break mods. Which are way more important than any update.

I bought fallout 4 after watching the series, + it was on sale
You know it. Entire franchise of games is on sale until tomorrow!
Keep it up C.S.!
Thanks Kodiak!!!

No word on FO4-VR ? I'm a sad panda :(
Havent heard of any updates for VR.
"Next gen update" lol.
Pretentious name.
even still, good to see them doing something :)
It's because they're porting it to the... next generation of consoles? Via an update?
@@auron1319 lol they are not next generation consoles, they are barely even current generation consoles.
nothing "next gen" about it.
