  • We first traveled to Denmark in 2012 on a family vacation and immediately fell in love. We share photos and stories from that trip and then talk through how we would revise the itinerary based on what we know about about Denmark since moving here!
    Original Trip
Day 1 - Arrive, Christianstown and Walking around Copenhagen
Day 2 - Canal Tour, Little Mermaid, Nyhavn, Rosenborg Slot
    Day 3 - Malmo
Day 4 - Carlsberg Brewery, Fiskatorvet for dinner and movie
Day 5 - Pedestrian road, Round Tower, Lyngby Football match
Day 6 - Roskilde Cathedral and Viking Boats, Glyptotek, and night photos
Day 7 - Walking the city and Tivoli
Day 8 - Helsingør, Kronborg Slot, and Bakken
Revised Trip if we came back for the first time today
Day 1 - Arrive and Rosenborg Slot
Day 2 - Canal Tour, Little Mermaid, Nyhavn
    Day 3 - Aarhus - ARoS
Day 4 - Aarhus - Den Gamle By and Moesgaard Museum
Day 5 - Billund - Legoland or LEGO House and Egeskov (if possible)
Day 6 - Carlsberg Brewery and Tivoli
Day 7 - Roskilde Cathedral and Viking Boats, Glyptotek and night photos
Day 8 - Frederiksborg Slot and Walking around CPH
I'd tell myself to add more days so I could visit an island like Ærø, see Odense, and maybe southwestern Jutland. OR, I'd tell myself to just move to Denmark so we can do whatever we wanted :).

I moved in Denmark in 2009, and moved to Aarhus shortly thereafter, and love it here. I also still catch myself with the "omg I live here" feeling! When I do certain things, experience certain smells or go to certain places, especially train stations and airports, it still feels like I'm on a trip to a foreign country. :)

Counting naked butts is freaking genius! I with I had thought of that, when my son was young. He wasn’t always a fan of our museum trips.

Thanks for sharing your story, I love your spirit, and it was fun to see the pictures of Maya as a little girl. She was beautiful then, too.

Oh my god, your "traveling young behind the scenes while they plan what's gonna be the next video" bit, genuinely made me laugh out loud.

Thanks for yet another great video guys :) I really enjoy watching Denmark from foreigners perspective :) All your tours around the country brings back so many happy childhood memories. My family did also travel a lot in Denmark when I was a kid. Usually in our car with me and my sister on the backseats, sometimes sleeping in tents, sometime B&B´s/hotels and sometimes staying at friends places. Not only in DK but also often Sweden, Norway and Germany, even a few trips further south to Italy, Spain and France :) Now a days I usually only travel every 2nd year and go far away for at least a month at a time, and the year I stay home, I do stuff that's needed for the house and just enjoy the Danish summer, which can be really nice, if were lucky ;D

İ have seen about 50 countries and just now İ am living in Türkey (been here for 25 years now) but every day İ thank The Lord for being born in Denmark because it is so safe, no one carrying gun's and you can trust the government working for the wellbeing of the people- İt makes me happy to listen to you and İ am glad to hear that you love Denmark just like İ do. Thank you for your videos.

I went to the Viking museum last Feb! Unfortunately they didn’t have too much going on because it was winter, but what a cool place. I can’t wait to go back!

Haha, I love the planning of the eating of the wrong hotdog skit 😂 All the danes are like "wha, they got the wrong kind of hot dog", and you're all "muahahaha". Brilliant prank! Kudos and thumbs up. You Youngs are awesome. Love the videos, keep it up!

Sometimes you need someone from abroad to appreciate your own country a little more. I think I need to rethink vacation in these Covid times and play tourist and see stuff back here at home this year. Thank you for your wonderful video's and your take on things you experience
