I was ask to run a track loader on the side for a major company he was behind on the deadline. So I took off from my full-time job help him for 6 days 10 hr pre day. To this day he has not payed me but yet when we pass or see each other he don't even pay me. So I am a believer of the Krama bites back harder she just takes time. So I got a call that he had lost his house and equipment to the loan holders plus his license pull to do work and bids. I am happy that the out come is he got it back 50 times over and cost me 6 days of pay. You do people right with respect you need it back aswell. Good video 👍
I hope you get everything taken care of. It really sucks to have to go this far to get your money. I hate chasing our money. Good luck Richie! See you at the GIE
I decided years ago that we were going to focus on residential properties, and not pursue commercial accounts. Mainly, because we became very addicted to the "dazzled" response we got from customers who had long forgotten what their yards looked like!
So true. Quoted a customer $300 for an acre for fertilizer and weed control per app. They thought it was for the last three apps for the season. They paid the $300 and no more for the last two. Ate it and learned my lesson. The more money they have the more stingy they are.
What part of Georgia I used to live in Washington Georgia near Augusta and Thomson also I know how that can be not getting paid it makes it hard on anyone I agree to go after it stand your ground I have had to tack late fees if a customer doesn't pay on time
This was my 1st video of yours that I watched. I'll check more, as my crew is still in the field, and I am still in my continuing education time. (The rain was fun to see! Did I mention we are in the Tucson desert?)
The answer to the situation is this: If a local landscaping company wants me to provide regular maintenance service for one of their customers, they can introduce us to their customer, and their customer can decide to hire us, or not. The landscaping company is absolutely not involved in any other way. And the other way around. I want to be able to give my customers good recommendations for work they want done by those in other service industries, or in the various trades. So, you give 'em to get 'em.
Knock on wood I have always been paid... 21 years running. I have had to chase a little sometimes. I agree with what you are doing. You are not a doormat
I wish I could make the GIE Xpo not able this year. Yes you have to take some of them to court I have before when I had a backhoe so don't let them win it's your money no matter how much it is.
That sucks. I had a bank repo company burn me for 4k on time. At the time that hit did some real damage, and eventually led to me getting out of the business. When I started back up, I swore I wouldn't do sub work anymore.
When I do subcontract work and don't get paid, the first thing I do is go to the homeowner and tell them of my intent to file a lien on the property and every time the homeowner has paid me and said that they would get things squared up with the contractor. It's said because you know the contractor is getting paid and now the homeowner has a pay twice.
i'm doing some subcontracting for a company this year, and they might take me to court to get an invoice out of me 😂 i'm so busy and tired, some people don't know what they owe 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏽♂️
I run a yardwork business in Tucson, Arizona, and nobody can cost us a dime. All of our time and work are well compensated, even when someone does not pay us. And, the stress level is amazingly low! Just to say, if you wonder about the multiple comments, it is for two main reasons: 1. It separates ideas for more precise responses. You can comment on one idea without the thread being mixed up with three or four other ideas. and 2. I heard that it counts as extra activity in the UA-cam algorithm, and, if true, would boost your channel's ranking! If it bothers you, just tell me.
When I deal with out of town people, or people I don’t really know, I ask for payment for the month/week up front . Been burned before, and that’s what I do now. Try to explain why to the people. Good luck ✌️
Love your channel ! We have the opposite problem with subs with them not doing the work or not going back to finish what they started. I even paid most of my subs cash once its done. I try and help out the small local guys & for whatever reason them just getting it done is a problem. #Mownation
Sucks bro u gotta do this with court.. But you gotta get paid ... We have been down this road a couple times and it never ends well for the others.. Good luck on this one man ...
I feel ya man. I've been stiffed of over $1000 worth of work for another guy that I did leading up to Christmas a couple years back and now the guy I've subbed all but 3 of my jobs out to whilst I finish high school hasn't sent me a check for nearly 3 months....... Really hoping he's just got other stuff to deal with and will send it soon but otherwise imma be mad.
Dealing with kinda the same thing here, just not from doing any sub work. Gotta a customer that I take care of 4 properties for that doesn't want to pay me, so I cut off services and I'm sending a certified letter to tomorrow to get his attention. It's just a lil over $600.00, but it's money that I worked for and I spent my business money for fuel, help, etc. to do the job that the customer ask for. #nopaynomow
I hear that rich gotta do what you gotta do family or not some times family is the worst to deal with it’s not like we have sick pay or paid vacations or time off period we grind every day pay employees pay for gas and most importantly our time! Keep us posted bro good luck
Good topic ma!! 4.8K owed is a lot of money, when family is involved that’s worse. One off work or working with other companies for more that $1000 we ask for 50% up front before work commences, if they don’t agree we don’t do it.
Lettin you know right now, Lord willin Mike G makes GIE 2020 I'm gonna run up on ya & give ya a huge bear hug.(as long as you're not holdin your camera of course). Hope all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!!!
So we got a call from the company the day before court and he paid the invoice in full. He was very apologetic and even sent some customers my way in my area he doesnt service. So I was happy with the outcome
🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️OH WELL!!!! YOU HAVE A FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF. YOUR TRUCK DOESN'T RUN OFF OF WATER AND THE MOWERS AND HANDHELD EQUIPMENT DOESN'T RUN OFF OF AIR!! THAT BURNS ME UP WHEN PEOPLE SAY ALL YOU DO IS MOW GRASS!!!😡😡😡 AND I'VE ALWAYS ENJOYED YOUR VIDEOS BRO!!! RAMBLE ON!!!

those 4 you mentioned have become great friends of mine. Alot of new guys come in every year as well. Some of the bigger guys are so busy they dont get much time to talk
Small businesses and low income people are more eager to pay. Not because they care more, but because they are still close enough to remember how it was being dirt poor, like us! LOL
New to the channel great video. I am also from Michigan I do some work for other larger companies really would be interested in knowing who this company is so I don't work for them. I would like to start a way or channel to expose people that don't pay or contractors that don't pay. This would help us all all so we don't do work for them and get stiffed. Does anybody else have a way of guaranteeing they getting their money besides prepay or card on file?? I am trying something new to where I get half down at a time of service when we I arrive with a crew and equipment or no work. The balance is due before the equipment leaves the site how about you?? Any other owners that want to offer up some wisdom to help us all out?
I'm studying to be an electrician. When I'm finished with my training how can I use my skills to help you in your landscaping business? I'm from Illinois.
Take collateral before you perform labor. Have them sign what the collateral is for... be simple but specific. write: Time is of the essence on same document. No pay me no equipment back to you. (Good Luck) little brother in arms.
Hey Devil Dog. Do what’s right for you. You worked hard for your money and you should get it. Btw, I know all too well about dealing with family and money. It can be very painful.
This is a great video. It happens to almost everyone who has their own business. A friend of mine was a self employed mason. He did work for another man I know. He owed my buddy over a thousand dollars for over a month. He finally paid him after a few months. In the mean time I would see him at a local club drinking and gambling. What the hell is wrong with people. I only had two beers but the more I though about this the more pissec off I got. So when I got up to leave I went over and asked him how he could be in here gambling when he owes by friend money. He just looked at me like he wanted to kill me. I said just shut the hell up. I will tell everyone I know what kind of jackass you are and I left before things got out of hand. People are crooks. Some of them. Take care and have a great holiday season. Love your videos. Do you like your fw 15. I want to get one instead of my walk behind. Should I get caster wheels thanks again.
That’s unfortunate man, when that happens, and they don’t pay for you a long time, you destroy them...make sure they never do that to anyone else, bring down a fucking fire storm on them. Good luck brother.
I deal with both rich customer and average customer! The regular folks pay before I turn off the truck. The rich wanna pay once a month and then I have to remind them..ie. beg for my $ I don't do commercial accounts for that reason. I do $1800 a week with 35 accounts. I'll survive!
Mr plemmons! The number of so called lawn care company's in my area almost out number the customers! Competition is enormous. Therefore it's a cut throat business! Add on insurance fot commercial accounts and it's a losing proposition!! Insurance for non commercial business is more affordable so the $ is much better! Randys Lawn Care..32 years and counting!

Nothing worse than theives. That's theft against your family. I'd add in any $$ I could to recuperate your worth...I bet they've already been paid for and spent the pay for that property. Never do business with family, especially married in, that ain't even family. Good luck, go get them $'s!!
I have more issues with getting money from the ones that have more money than what they know what to do with it. The white collar middle class or below has no issues ever paying me
I have never done sub work but if I did they are going to pay me upfront. I don't chase money and don't have time too, so pay me up front or find another sub. I have no time to do sub work anyway. LOL

another great topic with no fluff.
Literally the grind don’t stop...when your not “working “....gotta go chase your money. It’s bullshit. I feel you brother. Good luck boss 👍
I am in the exact same boat with a local landscaper. We make them look good & they get the "Big $$" work & praise.
That sucks when people don't follow threw. Take care.
So true. Quoted a customer $300 for an acre for fertilizer and weed control per app. They thought it was for the last three apps for the season. They paid the $300 and no more for the last two. Ate it and learned my lesson. The more money they have the more stingy they are.
