When Left 4 Dead first came out, I told my friend the witch was a survivor and they needed to go save them. Her screaming and me getting punched was so worth it!

"Fast Zombie", a zombie that runs faster than the average, becomes highly lethal in groups and has the potential to parkour after the player. This being part of the Volatile's arsenal which, might I add, can take more punishment and requires a more 'advanced' tactic to kill. With "Fast Zombies" (great name guys) you avoid them ganging up on you as you move into an appropriate position to kill it like any other zombie, it's acrobatic and not too special when looked at critically. The Volatile can kill you in a couple strikes as well as eventually out-run the player due to their persistance and alerts others around you, quickly surrounding tired players. The appropriate way to kill them? UV light, weakening them, allowing the player to kill before reinforcements as long as the UV torch's batteries hold out. The Volatile adds additional stress to the player because, flee or fight, it's a survivor's gambit, you could die to a powerful, spider-like, being hidden in the darkness. "Fast Zombies" are indeed fast but can be held of and killed like any other zombie which would lead to the assumption that the Volatile is better due to the additional complexity behind it.
Ram is much more terrifying than Suicider in my opinion. They move relatively fast to their size and built, they can kill the player in 2-3 hits and it takes at least 6-10 hits to kill them. They also don't need to run in order to ram the player as they can do that just as effectively while standing. 1. Get their attention 2. Watch as one of them begins to charge at you 3. Dodge 4. Watch the Ram hit the wall and get stunned 5. Attack him while he's stunned 6. Back away 7. Repeat This of course assuming that you don't have any ranged weaponry or explosives. Rage attacks are also completely useless against them
eh, i'd say the night hunter should have gotten first. It's a zombie that you get to play as. It has awesome spits, it can shake the ground around it, it can pounce humans and is an overall badass assassin.
x x Here is a fresh take on zombie outbraks: Imagine the outbrake as a lottery method of the gov' or gov' sanctioned private companies to generate super soldiers from high potential localized gene pools. On one end the succesful specimens are are being hunted for research and on the other the succesful specimens are the protagonists whose task is to make a decision and solve the mystery and rebuild their lives, while realizing there is no cure relatively early on. What do they look like? take away the decay and deformity with the ugliness and madness with the adition of inteligence and keeping the features that allow abilities and prowes and controled instincts with sentience and on top of it all, maintaining an aesthetically pleasing look while looking inhuman/alien like/new human race while aplying this to the hunter from left 4 dead(for example,no decay, proper retractable claws and no stupid habit of screaming while launging at an enemy and only making loud sounds for human reasons like the sound of "woohoo" when jumping for fun) and the voletile from dead light (for example has part of the look is a pleasant looking mandible type mouth not a deformity,no jutting bones, proper pleasant looking tough flesh,no light oversensitivity, proper hair growth, looking attractive overall even though a bit alien and strange, can choose vocal or mental comunication(mind speech)). In summary you geat a super soldier that is an awesome protagonist without the physical zombie drawbacks (social drawback is a huge story on it's own and a solvable issue) with a complex role in their story.
hi I bob 1 left for dead is what inspired most special zombies and is famous for that, plus the witch can be scary as all hell and takes you out in one hit
@coolchrisable True. What you said at the end is true. They are a variety of them but in the end, they're still the same as their purpose is constant. There are a lot of zombies from video games like "The Last of Us," "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," "Dying Light," and others like Half Life, Left 4 Dead, and Dead Island. The games that are really massive are the ones with masterful plots or story lines and in depth characters. "Until Dawn" is one of the greatest examples as well. I know about "The Evil Within" and "The Uncharted Franchise" but because of "The Last of Us" I really only stated liking those games with a post-apocalyptic action-adventure survival horror theme to it. Regardless, it could be infected which is the main types that I've seen or just the regular zombies but ever since I saw Markiplier play "The Last of Us" and "Until Dawn," I really liked the plots and characters that went into it. Same thing with "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" as there are only a few other games that are post-apocalyptic and have the zombie like nature to them. Dying Light is a great example which I came across recently along with Dead Space but only for the Necromorphs in them as I don't think that it has much of a plot. While " The Evil Within" and "The Uncharted Franchise" as I've checked are supermassive games just like the aforementioned ones, I find that the post-apocalyptic action-adventure survival horror theme still wins. The plot and delving into the characters with the storyline is so intriguing and magical in a way. I remember when I saw "The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Left Behind" in 2017 and coincidentally, I was the same age with Ellie. Funny how that worked out. The only other game that I saw that was very well done was when "AllShamNoWow" played both "Saw" and "Saw 2: Flesh and Blood." The Saw franchise are so epic and makes you think and want to see what happens next. I could go on and on but I've to go now so.......................... another time.......
Redeads in the Legend of Zelda always 1 shotted me and were horrifying as whenever they screamed, I was paralyzed in fear in real life too. And nightmares happened when they jumped on my back and I realized I couldnt kill them, because, if you try to get close in the game I was playing you would always get paralyzed as they would instantly realize you were there and scream while turning around.
Well technically if a wendigo posses a person, the person turns into a cannibal which is very similar to how zombies eat humans, except possession is with the living and not much with the dead.
The tank from Last Of Us. The fungus grew over the victim so much that it became pretty much a bulletproof and shiv-proof armor. Not only that, biting is not necessary. They can literally rip you in half.
Gus Sug Here is a fresh take on zombie outbraks: Imagine the outbrake as a lottery method of the gov' or gov' sanctioned private companies to generate super soldiers from high potential localized gene pools. On one end the succesful specimens are are being hunted for research and on the other the succesful specimens are the protagonists whose task is to make a decision and solve the mystery and rebuild their lives, while realizing there is no cure relatively early on. special infected name : hunter in left 4 dead series this type of zombie is a high risk because his jump is a strong one and use from pounding his victim in addition in and high or long jumps that players make it could cause additional 5-25 damage depending to there jumps and the tricks that was made could be unpredictable , the only way the stop the hunter is to stay with your team because the hunter punished the player from going solo or being separated to there team so good luck
Surprised that the resident evil 4 zombie was not the regenerator, creepiest thing in the game and I still can hear their groaning or is it moaning I don't know
Actually wendigos were once humans who turned to cannibalism that once they are to much human meat the got a big craving for it going through an inhuman transformation that increased their natural attributes and gave them other superhuman abilities at the cost of an unsatisfiable hunger.
Which l4d were you playing because in the second one some witches walk around while crying, if you were playing the dlc for the second game that's why because like I said in the second game they some times spawn walking around while crying that might be why it disappeared on you.
honestly the entire cast of special infected from Left 4 Dead should have been here since each of them have their own unique ways of killing you. maybe less so the Boomer as that kind has been used a lot, but the attraction bile mechanic is really good and annoying. then you got the Smoker's tongue pull, Hunter pounce, Jockey riding you and controlling you, Spitter spitting acid, and Charger slamming you into the ground, wall, and throwing you up into the ceiling. and of course you got the Witch and Tank doing what they do best.
7:17 I don't think Wendigos from Until Dawn are counted as zombies. They may look like zombies, but they don't possess an infectious bite or scratch that turns humans into wendigos. I can't remember what book it was, but I remember a zombie that had a stinger in it's mouth, that when used could hit someone a distance away. And it wasn't even a "once a lifetime" thing, they could obtain a new stinger in about an hour.
They aren't but technically none of these would be zombies since zombies are reanimated corpses controlled by voodoo magic. A lot of the "Zombies" mentioned aren't actually dead or being controlled and i'm pretty sure none of them are tied to voodoo.
+Вечерний или ночной брони They aren't really zombies though. It's a curse that turns someone who commits cannibalism into a wendigo. They aren't undead.
Вечерний или ночной брони Not even close. They're just skinny people with no hair and extended limbs. Volatiles are scarier, they have a gaping predator mouth and their tongue just hangs there while their rib bones pop out their chest. The reason it placed so low is probably because he's not that threatening end game when you have stronger weapons.
The Volitiles were cool but not the best zombie in dying light how about the night hunter in be the zombie mode or the horde zombies (from the spit of the night hunter)
I don't know about the word "softspot" fits when we are talking about Redeads. For me it's more like "I hope this is the last one I have to take down because they are seriously starting to creep me out."
i love the flsh pownder from killing floor, although it might not be considered a zombie sense the flshpownder was one a human who got tested on to become a super soldeir. but i love that enemy
my favorite has got to be the las plagas, since the plaga allows the human to function like it normally would, you could still potentially have a functioning society if it did take over the world
I bought the fungus that messes with ants, and applied it to a VERY aggressive type of ant, the velvet ant (a ground wasp, but also related to ants in a certain way) and it attacked other ground wasps/"ants" of it's kind
For those getting mad at Wendigos being on the list, it’s not “Top Ten Zombies” it’s “Top Ten Zombie TYPES”. As the Wendigo story is actually different than what Until Dawn puts out, it points out the different attributes that the game put it, making it more zombie like, and using the Wendigo Psychosis Syndrome (unnecessary cannibalism in a starving situation documented in humans) as zombies EAT PEOPLE, they point out the similarities that the Until Dawn type Wendigos have to classic zombies.
Why is the Panzer from CoD BO2 Origins not on here? By far one of the scariest characters in Zombie game history, I’d say. The Panzer mechanic is done very well, and I think it deserves to be on this list. Btw I love that you guys included the ReDeads, those things are terrifying.
When Left 4 Dead first came out, I told my friend the witch was a survivor and they needed to go save them. Her screaming and me getting punched was so worth it!

The Labrador I agree

"Have to have been human or humanoid in the past so Plants vs Zombies dont count"....puts them in honorable mentions.....
He's saying zombified plants don't count, not the zombies from the franchise

i agree.
+Photon Dragon yeah because the're not really zombies at all right?
true
Yeah, they aren't zombies. It's a curse that makes them like that, it's part of Native American culture
+Turtles Rock these guys are a bunch of retards. Wendigos are closer to the zombie origin than Romero's zombies.
Dying light's playable zombie is worse than an volatile
Not if the person controlling him sucks. If the person does suck well free kills for you.
Bvamso because it has tendrils
Bvamso nah I'm good at killing the night hunter
Bvamso dude it is a volatile
PugoTron 2000 The Night Hunter is different than the Volatile. Nught Hunter's are more evolved versions than the Volatiles.
volatile at no 9? im out..
in my opinion I think dying light and the last of us have the best zombie types
Agreed
same
+Figgle tree Yay lol
I don't know, Left 4 Dead has some pretty great zombies.

+TrollBearZ 9 or dragon priests
IKR?!
these are their thoughts not yours they probably have a different opinion about that one
Ryan W can u name some people who still play skyrim
why is the volatiles in the 9th place ? they should be first
eh, i'd say the night hunter should have gotten first. It's a zombie that you get to play as. It has awesome spits, it can shake the ground around it, it can pounce humans and is an overall badass assassin.

Plagas are NOT zombies. If you were gonna include an RE enemy that IS a zombie it should have been the Crimson Heads.
zombies originally were people controlled via voodoo magic, and I think being dead was not required, so why not?
+reddy112 scratch the latter part, they were reanimated.
Def
how about regenerators?
+Why So Serious you could say they are recollections of mangled corpses reanimated and controlled by a hivemind, which can fit.
I love how he also refers to the Volatile's jaws as Predator's Style.
I feel like the butcher from dead island shoulda made this list
Clicker is the best change of a real apoclipse
when you startle the witch you learn who your friends are
amen to that
Surprised that this whole list isn't left 4 dead zombies
ikr
There "one per francise" rule is the reason. Sorry if I spelled anything of this wrong.
+Nick (sawnick802) at least the happy it reached #1 spot lol XD
+Nick (sawnick802) same. left 4 dead is awesome. do u agree?
Same....for some reason I think the smoker should've been on this list
I still can't believe a human did the clickers sound.
clicker is awesome and digusting
I loved taking down Witches in Left 4 Dead. Everyone would get near and it would be a countdown over comms. "3...2...1..." and greasy smear.
A wendigo isn't a zombie right?
Just asking
no
You were going to say Until Dawn lol
I**
+donut toast No, they're a cannibalistic spirit that emerges from a human continually eating human flesh
No just a human turned in a monster out for human flesh
Wendigos aren't zombies. The wendigos are living humans possessed by a spirit after cannibalism has occurred. The game kind of stated that.
yes it did if you collect the story collectables it shows a super long cut scene showing and explaining every thing

Technically the wendigo isn't a zombie.
The witch in left 4 dead was DEFINATELY a pain in the ass in Left 4 Dead, and I learned the clickers weren't to be fucked with with out a weapon
The hunter from left for dead is my favorite idk why but it just is
Redeads in the Legend of Zelda always 1 shotted me and were horrifying as whenever they screamed, I was paralyzed in fear in real life too. Wendigos aren't zombies

they are in until dawn, so
Teran Smith So what? Because a game says something that isn't true, it counts? So if a game were to say that humans are zombies, is that true?
@@yeahyeah6035 I mean... how are they not zombies though? They're a former human turned into something cannibalistic and monstrous...

supahshadow9

not really
+Dante Vic
so you stayed calm when the first crimson head jumped from the floor chasing you through the whole room making these awful sounds. badass
+Dante Vic They're still a better zombie in style, uniqueness and fear factor than the Los Plagas.
Best zombie games: Left 4 Dead, Dying Light, The Last of Us
special infected name : hunter
in left 4 dead series
this type of zombie is a high risk because his jump is a strong one and use from pounding his victim

Not really. Ubermorph from Dead Space can regenerate body parts even its head. So I think Ubermorph is stronger.

7. the Nazi zombie leader this guy is hard to kill and brings more Nazi zombies
there is skeleton Germans but I think they are from world war 1 I don't igzactly know some of there names so don't judge me
you said "wespons"
vicki fawley sorry
there actually is a grenadier in dead island
TheGermanSniper OP I'm just gonna judge you on your spelling of "exactly".
aren't they breaking their human rule with the camo flood?
and I would have put the crimson heads before the las plagas
flood were either humans, elites, or brutes before infection, all of which are humanoid. they said human or humanoid, so its not breaking their rules
+Hiro Murdoch thanks for clearing that up brotatochip
Where is George Romero from black ops? The creator of zombies turning into a zombie. Come on now, this should have been top 3
According to the internet, as long as it's Call of Duty, it's cancer.
The Wandering Viewer But who doesn't love cod zombies?
+Sirr Boss true
Sirr Boss I myself love Zombies but most people hate Call of Duty. And because Zombies has Call of Duty preceding it. People tend to stay away.
I can't remember what book it was, but I remember a zombie that had a stinger in it's mouth, that when used could hit someone a distance away. And it wasn't even a "once a lifetime" thing, they could obtain a new stinger in about an hour.
the wendigo from "until dawn" is not a zombie or an undead type of monster
A wendigo isn't a zombie
That's what she said
its an alien
Jason waterfalls well it's an undead creature so I guess it can count
meecl rules
Wrong.
WigglyWombat
Not really. The person doesn’t die when they become a wendigo.
You know what I hate In TLOU
The Clickers
The stalkers tho.....
Fantastic list! Witch is totally number 1!
I'm going to let you finish Watchmojo, but los plagus aren't real zombies
Las Plagas*
Thanks for the correction
They are they just are smarter type of zombies
They aren't but technically none of these would be zombies since zombies are reanimated corpses controlled by voodoo magic. A lot of the "Zombies" mentioned aren't actually dead or being controlled and i'm pretty sure none of them are tied to voodoo.
James Mulchrone That's just one definition of zombie which comes from Haiti.
wendigos had to be on first place
+Вечерний или ночной брони They aren't really zombies though. It's a curse that turns someone who commits cannibalism into a wendigo. They aren't undead.
I guess that's true ,but if they made it on the list they have to be on first place
Вечерний или ночной брони Nah, Wendigos aren't actually zombies, Tank from L4D needed to be 1st
Вечерний или ночной брони Not even close. They're just skinny people with no hair and extended limbs. Volatiles are scarier, they have a gaping predator mouth and their tongue just hangs there while their rib bones pop out their chest. The reason it placed so low is probably because he's not that threatening end game when you have stronger weapons.
well i like the bloaters from the last of us.
SoulfulGames same here.
same
YourDarkFriend Yes I agree with you! Man those things freaked me out, and they're so hard to kill! I must've died like 10 times every encounter.
The volatile has become one of my favorite zombie
Dead island for the Win
Yes
The Volitiles were cool but not the best zombie in dying light how about the night hunter in be the zombie mode or the horde zombies (from the spit of the night hunter)
Riptide
I think dying light is better because ot has parkour unlike dead island
it would have to be feral ghouls fall out
Darth Destroyer those are people
Darth Destroyer those are just heavily irradiated people who have gone mad due to their brains rotting from the radiation.
Brian Ogilby they are readiated humans that has become feral due to their brain rotting from too much radiation exposure
@Gerry Buckets Have you seen a glowing one?
The ghouls from the fallout series you left out
Le Mattseption people who brain rotted. Still human. Good neighbor has them and the bad ones have gone crazy so there not zombies
Finally, a decent list.
What about the glowing gouls from fallout they were kinda hard to kill the should at least have an honarbale mention
Pillowmaster117 FFFFFFFFFF jk there brains rotted but they r alive so they r not zomvies. READ DISCRIPTION PRESTION AND CAIT! ur hot xD
3:19 *one of the most overrated games ever
true
+HCH Millwall Nope. Halo is overrated.
+HCH Millwall Drugs are bad dude.
It's a fantastic game, still
+Luca Del Pup (Nheyyz) except it isn't.
wtf where the fuck is tank from left 4 dead
Witch replaced the Tank. 1 thing per franchise
tank is special indeed. but it is not as fatal as witch.
The Revenants from Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11 should have made this list
SOME OF THESE ARE ALIENS!!!!!!
no Black Ops 2 brutus?
Yes
+Hugo van Geffen for real though
How about the Panzer Soldat?
that would be cool, and the panzer soldat, but they aren't zombie types, they're more like mini bosses.
Dude Panzer is just a soldier infected in the suit.
Top 10 pornstars!!!
Top 10 bowls of cereal in porn videos.
great list!
When Husks were first mentioned I instantly thought Killing Floor
u left out ZAT: Zombie Army Trilogy. plus the witch is a pushover. upclose with an auto shotty and shes history
I don't know about the word "softspot" fits when we are talking about Redeads. For me it's more like "I hope this is the last one I have to take down because they are seriously starting to creep me out."
I regret startling the witch and problably onother spot for a special zombie might as well be king zombie from deadrising 3
i love the flsh pownder from killing floor, although it might not be considered a zombie sense the flshpownder was one a human who got tested on to become a super soldeir. but i love that enemy
*I Deeply Enjoy It My Favorite Is Las Plagas Resident Evil 4* 💗💗💗💗💗🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Coral puppets I think they're called from Soma are really quite freaky and technically are a form of zombie
Love the clickers
Unless u have a shotgun there kinda hard to kill
Do another top ten special zombie types
my favorite has got to be the las plagas, since the plaga allows the human to function like it normally would, you could still potentially have a functioning society if it did take over the world
I bought the fungus that messes with ants, and applied it to a VERY aggressive type of ant, the velvet ant (a ground wasp, but also related to ants in a certain way) and it attacked other ground wasps/"ants" of it's kind
The Holy Tomato ant zombies!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
literally ant zombies, it is dangerous to make them actual zombies though, alone the females (stingers, no wings) have the 4th painful sting on earth
I consider Wendigos more of a mythical creature than a zombie
the zombies from Quake still freak me out after 20 years
How about doing a video on games in which you can play as a zombie?
Don't understand why the Wendigo was in honorable mentions, it's not a zombie, it is it's own monster type completely.
I miss playing Left 4 dead.... especially when I'm always the one who startles the witch for fun...
YES!!!! I Said It #1 Will Be A Part Of The L4D Series Special Infected!
I thought state of decay juggernauts may hit the list
