This is one the most informative talks ever, everyone needs to watch it, several times , to get the message, if necessary... It's not often you can get so much from a 24 min talk, thanks very much Joe Schwarcz, brilliantly put over....
This lecture was too short! I could listen to this man for hours. Now I must Google him & search for any other lectures... (Please someone let me know if there are more elsewhere on the internet!)
Anyone who likes to eat loves the Chemistry of cooking, and gets a preparatory idea of proportions of ingredients and components. So the initial stages of science are built into the world around us, and good Teachers lead students into the further development of what is natural and actual. Yay Chemistry.
Again, you weren't listening hard enough to the talk. The subject of the talk is humans and the prevailing view on chemicals among the general population. Elephants aren't relephant (see what I did there?). Even so, I'll humour you because it's easy. The greater complexity of human behaviours indicates greater complexity in brain chemistry alone, let alone the greater complexity of the physical structure of the human brain itself. Factor in the wider variety of chemicals we ingest in various ways and their interactions with that brain chemistry and I'd say his statement was pretty watertight. You've just gotta think a little. ;)
You are reading way too much into a rhetorical device. By the way, can you point out a chemical container that's appreciably more complex than the human body?
I am skeptical about the earth being a sphere , so skeptical in fact that I went and looked for the truth of the matter , and the truth of the matter is the world is flat.
Apples are fine, benzene in the atmosphere maybe not so good, petro chemicals in the water maybe not so good. your smart but my prostate isnt convinced.

Very informative and clear to understand ..... Great presentation by a charming man !
Thanks for this great lecture! Much apprecaited.
I miss your lectures at McGill, thanks again for the Talk.

Niklaus Manuel D shut up quack
That was really good and I expected this video to have a bunch of comments.

Great talk
People fear what they don't understand. People choose to not understand science. People choose fear.
Hello 2020.
Wow, a TEDx talk that isn't pseudoscience or ideological.
Lovely 😀❤️
Why would you think the human body is the most complex chemical container on earth? Appart from that, congratulation on a great talk!
Because that is exactly what it is. We are conglomerates of chemicals. You obviously didn't listen very hard to the talk.
Can you prove it is more complicated than that of an elephant? Have you tested every other species on earth?

claims no proof, and 0 logic. Ridiculous! But go on, any other hilarious claims to make?
You are reading way too much into a rhetorical device.

If th chemical is isolated its going to act different than compounded
Skeptics are tolerated until their skepticism is focused on state supported
“the science”

Isolated or concentrated = drug = works on melanin/carbon
