This is one hellava story. And I don't think alot of people who take "sunroofs" for granted quite understand it's humble beginnings in the U.S.
In the 1980/90's, ASC was considered something extraordinary amongst car guys on the streets.
This is Just Awesome.....Mustangs and “Special-Stangs” will Live FOREVER!
I've known Hank since the 80s along with his brother who owns Classic Design Concepts here in Mi. I knew their ASCMcClaren connection but never knew his life story . That doesn't surprise me as Hank is a very quiet guy who moved down to Florida decades ago. Heck I even bought a Mustang part off of him not knowing his Ebay handle. LOL
I have a 1985 5.0 Convertible Mustang myself, can't wait to read more.
I have 1988 ASC Mclaren supercharged car is Amazing it's jet black with Charlotte interior
Very nice, I am a fan now,.
WOW IM SO IMPRESSED BY THAT GREAT HISTORY LESSON .I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF ASC SINCE THE 90s
chuckswhip, we absolutely love the ASC McLaren too. That was a really awesome project for the entire team. We are happy that you enjoyed it as well.
“I copped the ‘89. Only a few of these.” -Larry June 🍊
Good Job Larry!
I remember seeing the 86 Capri new as a kid man I’d love to have one of those cars just like the one here!
Such an amazing build. Too bad Sandy Block isn't around to see this amazing piece of art. Might get around to pulling my 85 coupe out of the trailer. Will call up Hank for sure.
awesome story. i love my 1980 mercury capri and wish there was more features like this on them.
Great history 👍
Damn, I wonder if he could re-start the "T" top installations for modern Camaro's and Mustangs, etc. etc.
We had asc nearby in southgate michigan. I always wanted an asc/mclaren capri. Owned a capri once but was only a 2.3 base model. Still a fun car
Ronald, You're absolutely right, regardless of the model and engine, they are fun cars to drive!
Did Levi acquire awesome one of 60 made merc ...any info I would like to search further so cal 80s
I know these cars were unique or special to some people but i think they're ugly as F. Low HP. IMO
