@@DTecksVision I’ve started with tekken 3, I’m using tekken 5 as a base point because as I said, most people complaining weren’t even born when tekken 5 released. So obviously I’m not targeting you, why bother commenting that sh*t ?
The thing is Namco is probably pushing everyone for a high selling flashy fighter which can bring money forever in style of MK. Its super commercialized and soulless. I loved the direction Tekken had in 3/4 but now its anime over the top bs with ridicilous characters. Tekken is dead if you ask me.
Yoshimitsu has been embraced by the fandom because he's a completely unique character. You risk oversaturation when you start adding more characters that feel similar to what he represents.
Since Tifa is the most requested character(if not, she is second after Kiryu), Cloud and Sephiroth are probably in the top 10. Bamco asked Square Enix for them, but they have some reasons not to do that. Ig they are very protective of their most precious IP ever. In fact, I found only 2 games with FF7 characters other than Square Enix games. And so Square Enix is like "No, but u can use our last FF's protagonist" and they did this in T7 as well, IMHO its a bad choice, get the other most wanted guest or tk characters instead.
Maybe putting a Virtual Fighter character in Tekken 8 was better than Clive. But I think he is awesome for Soul Calibur. Maybe putting a Def Jam character in Tekken 8 would have been fun.
They created a character wearing a white suit using crappy knives and a damn sword, and the misfortune still teleports with blue lights, where does that fit?
I also wanted to say that but didn't had words for this thanks bro but Yoshimitsu is also a martial artist samurai style yeah but I also agree with you that it doesn't stand with standard of "Tekken"💔
Tekken is from the same company that made Pac-Man and Dig Dug, so yeah it’s goofy; It’s been like that since 1994. Tekken has had stuff like Tekken Ball, Bowl, the bears, Mokujin, Dr. Bosconovitch, the Jack Robots, and many silly endings. Lili in dark resurrection had the Prince from Katamari as an accessory, and there was even a Tekken version of Galaga back in 2015. I get what you’re coming from. However, it’s disingenuous to say it’s all about martial arts. I’m more worried about how nasty the monetization will get. I’m waiting for a complete edition of Tekken 8.
@@akpadeno he is very broken, plus frames everywhere, visual effects so great that you can’t even see your own moves or his limbs to counter, easy damage low risk. And people had the NERVE to complain about Leroy in Tekken 7 lol him at his highest can’t compare to this nonsense
Great video as usual 👍. Tekken has been gradually losing its way since 6 I think. I have played Tekken since Tekken 2 and have played all of them granted at more of a casual friend level. Tekken has always had some silly elements but more often than not where they pulled from reality. There are videos of people insanely fighting Bears, Bulls, and Kangaroos 😅. The thing is to me their has to be a balance and I think they have lost it fully with this game. Tekken 8 to me is Tekken Unga Bunga Edition. I don't care for rage arts or the heat system really. To me a degree of fantasy was okay as long as it didn't give the particular character advantage in the neutral. Flashy techniques mid combo are okay because the player earned them already through winning the neutral. Devil lasers for the most part outside of the neutral are avoidable at mid and high level play. In the case of Yoshi early on he was not considered bad because he was clearly toned down from his Soul Calibur version. Now he has arguably Unga Bunga tools that allow him to get away with ridiculous stuff just refer to the MainManSwe's video. In the end it seems that they are running the risk of Soul Caliburing Tekken which frankly sucks. Don't blend Tekken with a sadly dormant franchise of Soul Calibur because if they fully embrace that then this old man I guess will bow out. Tekken 8 to me has shown greed over gameplay and I think it will continue because to many will enable it. I think the dlc characters are more of that greed mindset put into action. As cool as Negan, Noctis, and Rosfield are next to nobody asked for them but you better believe Namco got 💰 for it. If they cared more for the fans the guest characters would reflect it I believe. In the end great video 🙇♂️. Hope Tekken gets better but not holding my breath. What is hilarious to me is that T8 going this way arguably make VF6 coming out the perfect time, and I would 🤣 if Tifa made it to VF first.
They are killing the tekken legacy with these characters with swords like Victor and Clive they need to be in soul calibur they just need to make another soul calibur make sense
I think if they had reskinned Negan as the guy from The Raid 2. The fan base could say that he was representing an unconventional but real martial art. Why I’m ok with boxing kangaroos. They should give Steve a kangaroo costume.
NGL, after the clive announcement, the VF6 teaser is just the copium I need. I'm not mad that tifa isn't in the game, but i was hoping the yellow color scheme was maybe someone like jacky byrant from VF, scorpion from MK or heck even Luke from SF6 would be welcomed, but no we got clive. I still love tekken but immediately when VF5 revo comes out I'm jumping ship at least until T8 season 2 comes out. I want to play a martial arts based fighting game not soul calibur 7.
I've National 3° place trophy in my library, from tekken 4, i was like 15 or 16. The game was rough but so much different from today. Now im 39 and i stepped up into tekken 8 and menaged to reach kishin rank, which for my understanding is a pretty shit rank, but man the game became so hard. The competition is insane, if you don't know every frame on every move you basically can't compete, which is why i've stopped playing since i don't have the time anymore. Also i don't really like the fact that once you get launch, you are basically never touching the ground again, combos feels like never ending. Not gonna say anything about flashy characters and moves, those are just part of the scenario, but the game design feels much worse and much less enjoyable. Rage arts are really stupid stuffs, ofc in my opinion, too strong and also they totally break the flow of the game with insane long animations. heat isn't balanced at all, there are some characters that can kill you in heat even if you block everything, while also having 0 punishable frames, some other characters instead doesn't really make good use of the heat mechanic, i mean hello, balance? It could be me, it could be that my ahead is tied to good old days, playing tekken in real, traveling for turnaments, reading stuffs on the forums, hanging out with friends after the turnaments, but i feel the old tekken 4 and even tekken 5 were much more enjoyable games even at competitive level that this fency thing we have today. Maybe im wrong, and i know there are ppl that enjoy this game out there ofc :)
for me personally tekken 8 can just make expansion pack and add main soul calibur cast i will pay 100 EU if i got like 10-15 soul calibur characters in to this game
I don’t like being buried under negative frames. All of the time You literally have to respect every string from every character. And it’s dumb Leaves 0 from for counter play Add that with forced 50/50 and the game is just kinda annoying. I hope they fix it in season 2. Or I’m just gonna stop playing
All the fighters are labeled to use martial arts but half of the roster isn't using real moves that a human body can't do in real life All they did was they made it work Edit: So if you're telling me it's Tekken is a actual pure martial arts game, NO.. hell to the N.O it isn't.. even VF exaggerate moves too
Same with MK. Too many guest characters and too many characters that break the original rules the game set up from the beginning. This is why I stick to Street Fighter. At least Terry and Mai make sense in that universe.
Someone had to say this. I think yes the game has lost its identity. I don't dislike Clive or Noctis and they're great characters in their respective game. But bringing them to Tekken as fighting games characters, that's a travesty, they're so incompatible with Tekken. Clive/Cloud as guest characters belong to Soul Calibur for instance. Tekken needs martial artists. At this rate, Bamco are just chasing after clout and popularity of other guest characters to bring in more players to their game. I'm glad we're getting Virtua Fighter back, it's gonna be replacing Tekken for me, at least Tekken 8, because I still play older Tekkens. But yeah , VF is gonna keep Tekken in check, so maybe they fix all their mistakes when They release 9 after 10 years or so lol.
Tekken has always been like this. What is all this complaint? We have hand monsters, beast, androids, and for chirst sakes weapons are a part of martial arts. Weapon mastery is also martial arts. These purists
@CephlonMayngrum trust me i understand but t6, t5 and tag tournaments were are aggressive rushdown mixup game with stupid shit. T7 was actually the bad one
More people playing, but I couldnt feel more disconnected from it. This is not tekken this is fortnite with tekken card game mechanics (heat + new char meta + new char dumb strings).
Clive wouldn't fit Soulcalibur either, Clive is literally a Marvel/Dragon Ball character in Tekken. but it would be good for Project Tekken to experiment if they want to make a Shonen Jump game in the future.
Tekken always had martial arts but they always exaggerating moves they just made it work is all Roger Jr does boxing but as you play him you realize half his movelist isn't boxing like at all that goes for Steve Fox as well as much you guys want to categorize him to be normal Steve isn't doing normal moves or attacks as A few of them are exaggerated as well Nina spitting in the opponent face blonde bombing them like WTF is that attack it looks like a wannabe Kamehameha attack but without the energy coming out Don't forget her sister she used slaps heel 👠 stomps in the groin and booty bumps the opponent That's not martial arts Jack was in TK1 and he has a style called brute force like bruh He's literally a walking machine fighting actual humans 💀 yet nobody bats and eye do you know why because they made it fit Gon exist in TK3 ogre shoots flames, teleport, and have a parry shield barrier in gameplay again nobody crying about that Mishima doing karate but lightning uppercut & hell sweeps with a crazy hair do get a pass on no logic on how it got that way
Bro, this guy yapping about characters not fighting with their hands but we have demons shooting lasers and an undead samurai since decades now. Crazy how hating has become popular with some of yall.
Did you not listen to what he said about yoshi? Yoshi is part of the face of tekken. Even with sword, he always followed his own style. And in older games he still mainly used his feet and fists. In fact only a few sets of commands let you use his sword. And yes, laser beams have always been in the game because of the devil gene. But that’s as far as it gets when it comes to flashiness. The game now looks more like naruto than tekken with all the lights and effects.
Tekken was always my first choice when it comes to fighting games but those time are gone with tekken 8. Will still watch the big tournaments, but I just dont like playing the game anymore.. too much anime, too noisy visuals and the game just lost its identity. I'm looking forward to virtua fighter in january.
tekken been dead since 7, feels like a cheap street fighter clone ever since. Deleted 8 so many times and playing the older ones instead when tekken felt like tekken.
The sad fact of the matter is this game is dead. I've played this game through tekken 1 and took all the crap through the years it could throw at me. All the balance issues from the past games all the toxic players from the community all the money lost in the arcades, etc. Just about everything this game could throw at me I took. And I realize now it's hopeless and I should have just quit earlier. Harada just doesn't care about the few players he has left. He doesn't care about gameplay balance or the game having identity. He just wants a quick cash grab which he can't even do right as evidenced with this guest char. And btw he also always lies. He said before the game came out that they would not bring in guest chars as DLCs. But of course they would. They would want to attract new players but this just isn't the way. Either way my own comment is irrelevant. This game is gone and I have given up on it as well.
Its only dead to you bro, the game has good numbers and makes good money, not happy ? Then play something else, video games are here to have fun, if you dont have fun, then play something else.
Honestly we have to wait and see what Season 2 brings With these new moves coming things will either get worse or get better. Clive has brought in numbers but I'm not sure how long those people will stay but we shall see

Tifa was the perfect character for Tekken, literally will break the internet
Faccs bro😫
Careful now you don't want people accusing you of being a gooner
Tifa was popular bout 30yrs ago bruh😂
Next DLC
Goku - fly everywhere kame hame ha ha ha
One punch man - punch you 1 time no combo
Lmao
Geese and Akuma fits more as true guess characters then anyone else.
F
I also wanted to say that but didn't had words for this thanks bro but Yoshimitsu is also a martial artist samurai style yeah but I also agree with you that it doesn't stand with standard of "Tekken"💔
They lost there identity after 6 smh
did you think about streaming path of exile? or streaming in general?
Yeah I've thought about it
But conditions aren't that good currently
So maybe in the future
I hope to see Dragunov’s legacy outfit in the Season 2.
He is broken i want akuma or jinpashi back
he's not broken, but bro, i would love to have akuma and jinpachi back fr
" Broken " You don't know what that means anyways LOL. I think your just bad.
This pretty much sums up the Tekken community. Tards arguing without any actual skill/knowledge.
@@akpadeno he is very broken, plus frames everywhere, visual effects so great that you can’t even see your own moves or his limbs to counter, easy damage low risk. And people had the NERVE to complain about Leroy in Tekken 7 lol him at his highest can’t compare to this nonsense
@ Sure bro whatever you say
They made him broken because guest DLC sells, l'm tired of fighting him every match online lol
virtua fighter is announced so, jump ship when the time comes.
I understand what you mean bro😮💨
Seriously. VF is looking real tasty right now
I've National 3° place trophy in my library, from tekken 4, i was like 15 or 16.
😂😂
I agree that you either accept tekken as what it is now. If you can't accept it just switch to virtua fighter (like me).
I would say king would be the face of tekken. Everyone knows how king looks like. Lol
Maybe you don't like these new characters , but that doesn't mean that Tekken has lost its path😅
As guest DLC thats groundedwhy not use Matrix Neo? I know Matrix is old but his iconic....
I went back to TAG 2 because of this.
Man🥲
I don’t like being buried under negative frames. All of the time You literally have to respect every string from every character. And it’s dumb Leaves 0 from for counter play Add that with forced 50/50 and the game is just kinda annoying. I hope they fix it in season 2. Or I’m just gonna stop playing
Yeah I don't think a lot will change
From what we've seen with the sneak peak new moves
All the fighters are labeled to use martial arts but half of the roster isn't using real moves that a human body can't do in real life All they did was they made it work
Edit: So if you're telling me it's Tekken is a actual pure martial arts game, NO.. hell to the N.O it isn't.. even VF exaggerate moves too
Same with MK.
Heat system destroyed taken for me! Not to mention the amount of characters that have weapons! Very disappointed
You should be able to see the charachter you are about to fight and reject a match if you dont like it. 😂
🤣🤣
Tekken has always been like this.
What is all this complaint? We have hand monsters, beast, androids, and for chirst sakes weapons are a part of martial arts.
Weapon mastery is also martial arts. These purists
Naaaa..it's never been this bad
@DTecksVision i agree but he doesn't break tekken in anyway, he is still bound by the same laws as everyone else.
Can be stepped, ducked and all that
If you cant see the problem, you haven't been a true fan of the series long enough. T8 is insane😢
@CephlonMayngrum trust me i understand but t6, t5 and tag tournaments were are aggressive rushdown mixup game with stupid shit.
T7 was actually the bad one
@@90sPotato but was the most popular in the franchise
More people playing, but I couldnt feel more disconnected from it. This is not tekken this is fortnite with tekken card game mechanics (heat + new char meta + new char dumb strings).
Clive wouldn't fit Soulcalibur either, Clive is literally a Marvel/Dragon Ball character in Tekken. but it would be good for Project Tekken to experiment if they want to make a Shonen Jump game in the future.
He can go to hell for all I care. Just get him out of tekken
Tekken always had martial arts but they always exaggerating moves they just made it work is all
Roger Jr does boxing but as you play him you realize half his movelist isn't boxing like at all that goes for Steve Fox as well as much you guys want to categorize him to be normal Steve isn't doing normal moves or attacks as A few of them are exaggerated as well
Nina spitting in the opponent face blonde bombing them like WTF is that attack it looks like a wannabe Kamehameha attack but without the energy coming out Don't forget her sister she used slaps heel 👠 stomps in the groin and booty bumps the opponent That's not martial arts
Jack was in TK1 and he has a style called brute force like bruh He's literally a walking machine fighting actual humans 💀 yet nobody bats and eye do you know why because they made it fit
Gon exist in TK3 ogre shoots flames, teleport, and have a parry shield barrier in gameplay again nobody crying about that
Mishima doing karate but lightning uppercut & hell sweeps with a crazy hair do get a pass on no logic on how it got that way
Bro, this guy yapping about characters not fighting with their hands but we have demons shooting lasers and an undead samurai since decades now.
So is ok to add nothing but weapon characters.
@@killclair4594 Go sleep bro
@@killclair4594they have only added 2 weapon characters… 3 of the 5 new characters have been hand combat characters.
your comprehension skills are terrible. Shouldn't expect much from a Drake fan though.
Tekken was always my first choice when it comes to fighting games but those time are gone with tekken 8. Will still watch the big tournaments, but I just dont like playing the game anymore.. too much anime, too noisy visuals and the game just lost its identity. I'm looking forward to virtua fighter in january.
THIS Is WHY The FUTURE Of TEKKEN Seems Very BLEAK! Fixed it fo you.
"very scary"? Brother...
tekken been dead since 7, feels like a cheap street fighter clone ever since.
Honestly we have to wait and see what Season 2 brings
With these new moves coming things will either get worse or get better.
Clive has brought in numbers but I'm not sure how long those people will stay but we shall see
@@akpade exactly. thats what I'm doing Im going to Virtua Fighter and Cyberpunk.
@@GamerNemy that's true bro. Honestly I love your videos I love your content and I learned a lot when you were playing Leroy. I also admired how u stuck w Raven and Lars through it all. I feel you bro. I know you gave your all in this game too. And I admire that you still are positive about it even if you're clearly hurting and dont like the changes like I do. I will continue to support your channel. more power.
@@NOMERCY12392 BIG W CYBERPUNK

Tekken 8 trash af !!!! Its headimg in the.dumpster
No it hasnt lost its identity
"Losing"..not lost
Bunch of crybabies
Having an opinion is being a crybaby now
This generation is cooked😖
Tekken ended with 7. They should have created an entire new series (with new graphics yet familiar mechanisms) instead of making a Tekken 8.
no one cares core audience is small, they need to attract new players. its a business.
