You picked the wrong version. This is from their reunion concert, and although it's good, it's much slower and less exciting than the original 1968 live version, which is widely available on YT. If you check that out, you will see Clapton (and the others) on absolute fire, and played at about double the pace.
I'm 56 years old and have been listening to classic rock all my life. I seriously don't get the reverence for Eric Clapton. He's an OK guitarist but a pretentious blues purist who self-declared himself the judge and jury of the guitar world.
