Great question. It's down to availability, moon bears are native to Asia and are prevalent. Some farms do use sun bears also, though this is less common.
This is common Jodie, yes. Bear bile farms, contraray to the image they convey, are more often than not a few cages in the back yards or basements of residential homes.
