I've always held that the Bloomberg Contingency was the darkest possibility. Then again, that would have near-certainly shattered the Democratic Party. So maybe not the darkest by far.

Can you imagine an active CIA operative raising the corporate tax rate from 21% to 35%, making college tuition free for all but the top 20%, and introducing a government healthcare option with subsidies for lower-income Americans that anybody could choose?

It also helps to specify why a nonprofit government option that competes with the market to lower prices won’t work, instead of just vaguely alluding to the “climate” of our political era.
