  • These Are Not The Same OKC Thunder
    10.1 points, 1.7 steals and 1 block while shooting 41% from deep. That was the 2024 season from Alex Caruso and now that he is apart of the former 1 seeded OKC Thunder I thought we should take a deep dive on just how good of a defensive player he really is and how can will help OKC win their first title since moving to Oklahoma

    We need to lock this guy down to a long contract soon. Him and Dort are going to be relentless on the perimeter next season. Chet was one of the best rim protectors in the league last season as a rookie. OKC is going to be a rough team to face on defense. And on the other side of the ball there are shooters and drivers everywhere.

      They’re gonna be top contender in the west again. It’s insane how stacked okc is now. And they still sit on all these picks. They ought to try to bring one more bigger guy in. J Will is too small to be a 4

    I feel like even a big forward could help them. Naz Reid would be perfect for them (but no way they can acquire him), maybe someone like Obi toppin or Bobby portis.

    if ur not sure how they score against okc with caruso, look how dallas beat them, lobs. caruso aint a rim protector, its a good addition for sure but they still have a hole

      I believe that OKC isn't done this off season and will sign a big who will fill that hole also. But that's just Dallas man Minnesota couldn't even stop their alley oops and they had Rudy and KAT

    Getting Steven Adam’s back? I mean I miss him he was an OKC favorite, but does he still have it and I think the Thunder want all their players to be able to shoot, he’d probably isn’t a better option than either J. Williams

    • @basketballreach
      @basketballreach  10 днів тому

      They would like them all to be able to shoot, but the truth is you don’t need that. And instead what this thunder team does need is rebounding and a bigger frame to deal with a guy like Jokic or Davis.

      @@andrecambridge4474 Lauri is a 30 and 10 player. The FRPs r going to be mid-late picks. Trade Wallace instead of Dort (reason for the four picks). Seems like a realistic trade in the current climate of the NBA. Or, trade Kendrick Williams, Cason, and Isaiah Joe to free up cap space for his contract.

    • @jeremianderson4861
      @jeremianderson4861 11 днів тому

      That would make too many holes on the perimeter defense. Those players are not as expendable as you think. Maybe a couple but not that many players for Lauri, who would also need another contract along with others.

    Here's the problem that nobody seems to understand with this trade. OKC was the #1 seed in the brutal western conference with Giddey as a starter playing an integral role in their success. Now they got rid of a big part of why they were so good. They are CLEARLY significantly worse now without him and it changes the chemistry of their team. You don't change things when they're going that good and this trade will go down as a colossal blunder by Presti when we see what Giddey does in Chicago. He is going to go off.

    • @Mortay2k
      @Mortay2k 11 днів тому +7

      As an OKC fan who always watches every single game, nope buddy, it didn't affect their chemistry. Every single interview that OKC has, Giddey was nowhere to be found (you can only find him when he's the one being interviewed). I know you aren't watching any OKC games because you clearly said that Giddey is one of the reasons why OKC was good and they made the 1st seed. It was Chet to be honest. Chet was the reason why OKC made the 2nd Round and the 1st seed. Also, OKC and the whole organization is fine even if Giddey finds his game with the Bulls. Giddey is a ball dominant player, the same goes to SGA and JDub, which are the 1st and 2nd options for scoring. Giddey was the 3rd option but he was so inconsistent. That is why during the 2nd round, he was literally bench because the fact that he can't score and he is also a liability in defense. Overall, it's a win-win trade only and only if, the Bulls will do the same treatment that the Rockets did to Harden, which was they rebuilt around him.

    • @basketballreach
      @basketballreach  11 днів тому +2

      I agree that with that fact that Josh Giddey will be hooping for the Bulls you just have to look at his numbers without SGA this season. But I disagree with the fact that OKC will now be terrible I think they will be better as Giddey wasn’t getting utilised properly

      This guy not ah Thunder Fan
      Giddey has strengths, and so does Caruso-- however, Caruso is more polished in almost every area aside from being 6'7
      Nothing is changing with Chemistry without Giddey, that's just an ignorant statement
      If anything, pressure is off OKC and relentless booing when he comes into the Game

      @@Mortay2k Lebron was terrible in the finals against Dallas and San Antonio so using your logic he should have been benched. LMFAO You don't bench a starter on a team that just went 57-25 and won their 1st playoff series. That was a dumb move by Daignault and Isaiah Joe was even worse in place of Giddey. He was a huge part of why they had that record and like I said you're all going to see how great of a player he is in the next couple of years.
