- In this (unofficial)video I show you how to perform the COVID 19 test for the ID Now. As I mention in the video, Abbott no longer recommends the use of VTM. Hopefully this video gives you a quick overview of how the test is performed.Thank you for watching.
Here’s the link to Abbott’s official site: www.alere.com/...
Thanks so much for posting the! So helpful for a nurse running this when I get a new patient on night shift when our lab is closed... Bless u!!! :) 🙂😀
We make these test kits at Tessy plastics and I must say, it’s awesome to see the finish product in use
Glad you enjoyed the video.
We build these test machines at my workplace. How cool is that to see the finished product working.
will these ID Now devices interface with Avricore digital platform, HealthTab?
Watching this because we’re going to start rapid testing at my work place this week🥲
@@Mari_isnothere Same 😔☹😢 I'm so stressed out I can't do this.
How do you go about obtaining one?
I've been using this video for our remote operator training and it helps me a lot. Tq so much. It will be easier if you include the qc testing too for the new user
Instead of using the swab swirled into the testing vial, can you dispense the fluid directly with a pipette? The swirling of the swabs can contaminate the testing platform.
I have to do this at work soon. I don't think I can do this. I'm so stressed out over this. 😢
Where can you buy the test kits?
You’d likely have to contact Abbott. www.abbott.com/IDNOW.html
Is there a reason that multiple tests would come back invalid? I've been watching these videos and I am doing nothing wrong. Not sure what is the cause.
I’ve had some come back invalid as well. Make sure the sample fully dispenses when inserted (the orange dot in the center should click down).
Is this a antigen test? I need to travel and I’m required to take a antigen test. Thanks
No, it’s a rapid PCR test.
Sir if E GENE SHOWING not detected and Results showing invalid what are the reasons behind that
My rtpcr is Negative abut with this machine I did my test at airport it's says positive what is this all
Thank you so much you helped me
You’re very welcome. Thanks for watching.
Is it same work like RT PCR?
so for the sample is ok to swab the patient by nasopharyngeal? the abbott id now testing?
We use both a nasopharyngeal and an oral pharyngeal swab for each test. Abbott updates their recommendations frequently so I’d check with their website for the most up to date information.
Thank you !!!!
You’re very welcome
Does it matter whether you use nasal or oral? Why were they using nasal when it hurts vs oral?
We were using both to increase the sensitivity of the test.
Does this machine give pcr test.
Yes, it is PCR.
@@robertbounds8112 is it accepted by the airports for traveling as a PCR test?
Confusing. I assume this isn’t meant for the layman.
When is the sample taken? You never mention that.
Indeed. The sample is collected within an hour of testing. I do not collect the specimens though.
Is the results accepted by airlines at airports? Because they don't accept rapid tests...
Oh wow I didn't know that. 😮
How much does this ID NOW machine cost?
500000000000000009
Pink Pony I saw 10,000
Is this test same as Nucleic acid test (NAT) or Nucleic acid amplification test (NAATs) ? needed to travel into Canada.
It's an RNA amplification test, which is a "RNA" test under other acceptable types of test for Canada.
Is it RTPCR or antigen rapid test?
PCR
How do you read the results?
They are displayed on the screen and on a printout when the test is complete.
Is it considered as RTPCR??
good question but nobody answers. did you find out?
All you have to do is read the comments! He mentioned it’s a PCR test like 20 times already lol
Cool 😎
Whats it mean or how would a result be invalid I got an invalid result, which was re ran resulting in positive? Would it mean lab error, or the it was such a miniscule amount of virus detected that caused the invalid result at first
I’m not sure what causes the invalid result. I have had them on the same patient with multiple collections. I thought it might be nasal medications or perhaps very thick mucus but I’m not certain what the true cause is. However, I doubt that is would be lab error.
This instrument has trouble with sensitivity. Not even sure why it exists.
That is correct. We stopped using VTM to prevent sample dilution and now collect two types of specimens for each test.
#19id is the a goodjob
