Because scientists around the world checked it after it was published and were later able to verify it by sequencing the genome for themselves.
China making the genome available ASAP saved crucial time during the early stages of the pandemic by providing medical experts with a headstart.

Czech republic said that 80% of the tests received from China were faulty. Why should we pay for faulty tests? these guys take things out of context
the context is wrong, Trump refused the WHO test kits and and pushed a American Made test kit from CDC which was faulty. and no. US didn't buy any test kit from China. Jack Ma ex- ceo of Alibaba DONATED 500k test kit to USA mid March. And still today USA is not going to buy test kit from China, only PPE and Medical mask.

I've had the test. If you wanna know how it feels like, it feels like when you're in a pool and accidently get the water up your nose. Its burns like that. They stick the swab all the way to the back and swab for 15 seconds. Very weird feeling lol
They do the same test for the flu.

Yeah, that's how it's properly done and for accurate results. It should be turned around for 10-15 seconds and then they take a mouth swab as well. The woman at 8:14 only swabbed for like 2 seconds.

I spent $150 for a rapid test and it’s negative. Before that I did PCR and was positive. I have no symptom. Got nervous now.

Say you have 100 people and only 10 are infected. It means you will only find about 5 of those 10.

But if the answer is just yes or no.
The coin will be right around 50% of time.
Anyways, I'm only guessing false positives and negatives are also present on the machine so it might be even closer to a flipping coin, but you have some indication of who really has it.

The test is very easy. I get tested frequently due to my autoimmune disease and having to get procedures. The one in Washington doesn’t hurt.

Maybe you got the flu (influenza), what were your major symptoms/treatment? Were you prescribed generic Zithromax and Plaquenil?
How come in the news videos when they do the test they put the Swab in the beginning of the nose and some videos they shove the swab through the nose down to the throat. Seriously why they shove it so far in the nose for some people?
The antigen test section of this video is terrible and just bad information all around. An antigen test is not meant to capture the same viral load as a PCR test. It's only really meant to capture viral loads that are high enough to be contagious.
So in that regard its much more sensitive than 85% and also much cheaper.

Antibodies test are safest and cheapest , so that they can only be redialy available and mass tested. They should improve that ASAP.
You also need to wait for the antibody to show up or do it fast enough before they decrease in number again. Then again some people might not produce antibody.
In think the genetic and antigen test should be the ideal one.

So if there is a 48% accuracy rate of a test, does it mean that if you take the test x + y times, you can conclude the following?
If all positive: 0.52^(x + y) chance of it actually being negative.
If mixed results (x positive, y negative), then 0.52^x chance of actually being negative, and 0.52^y chance of actually being positive.
I got the nose test a couple days ago, it was very uncomfortable but didn’t hurt as I was anticipating. Received a negative result within 2 days. I was impressed with how well everything was handled

False positives for screening tests is not an issue at all. False negatives are a gigantic issue and totally unacceptable for screening. Rapid antigen tests are terrible because they have a high likelihood of false negatives (they require a substantial amount of viral proteins present to identify). The only trustworthy tests are PCR tests performed by high complexity reference labs. PCR amplifies genetic material and thus can pick up even the smallest quantities of the virus.

Very bad journalism the FDA didn't put on the market tests that didn't work. The companies had to self-certificate their product. Plus you people forget that this is done by EUA which can be revoked instantly on any medical product. Get good journos!
I just wish I could just get my results from the test I took on the 1st. It has now been 18 days and I am getting next level runaround! Florida at its finest. If you could please avoid Adventhealth at all costs!!! We used to have one of the best heart Hospitals in the country now the people call it death row!
Update still have not received the results. I have called multiple times it has gotten to a point that they put me on hold till I hang up. stay away from Adventhealth in the south east at all cost!

No the antibody test does that. The test itself only checks if you have the virus.

It indicates to me that if that is the case then everyone will test positive, and also shows that it is always present in our genetic code so it can be said its man main as it is internally produce by us already and this could actually be a factor of auto immune disease
Understand your enquiry and confusion, but the answer is straight forward. There is no one specific sequence to test for SARS CoV2 but many fragments. The answer to your question lies in an understanding of primer design which are tested insilico to be specific for the target fragment. So the forward and reverse primers will not target anything else. This is run first on PC against databases to test specificity.
The man made comment needs to appreciate the science around molecular clock analysis which places the ancestral or first sequence elsewhere from Wuhan months earlier, while the outbreak then occurred in Wuhan.

Xray only helps if the lungs are really being hit hard. It would only show up in people who are having major issues breathing. Even then, many things can show those xray results, so it could be the other corona virus strands, it could be one of the many flu strands. So if the goal is to find sars-cov2, then xrays will not work.
