I feel like it doesn’t take a lot for me to love a book hehehe. As long as I can feel some kind of emotion, urge to squeal and giggle then each book holds a special place in my heart🥹yeah the 11 books I’ve read so far are all 4.5-5🌟
🍵 I need a Vera Wong in my life 😂😌 Lemme just drop the books that made me cry this year so far because if they got me to cry, automatic 5⭐ - I fell in love with hope by Lancali (2nd time reading and I was weeping in every chapter. I've decided to re read this at least one every year) - tempest of tea - where the lemon trees grow - strange the dreamer duology - little thieves + painted devils - again rachel by Marian Keyes - Babel
Girl please don’t read Just For The Summer without reading Part of your World and Yours Truly first!!! It’s a book 3 in the series. It will not have an impact on you without reading those first. Toward the end (and several events sprinkled throughout the book)there is a twist that won’t make sense without knowing what happened in those first two books.
My favorite read of the year has been The Folk of the Air series! I’ve had The Cruel Prince on my bookshelf forever and finally read it and immediately became obsessed. My most anticipated read of the second half of the year is Lady Macbeth by Ava Reid. I am dying to read it!!!
I likewise did not expect the seven year slip to deal with grief that way. Especially knowing HOW her aunt passed? That broke me. It really pulled me back to my experiences with grief and loss. My favs from this year are Mask of Mirrors, If We Were Villains, The Sunshine Court and Rhythm of War. Honorable Mentions to Court of Wanders, The Familar and Evocation. ❤ It's been a very stacked year for me.
i dnfed powerless this year as well 😫could not STAND the love interest and the whole insta-lust/love thing that happened between him and paedyn when his whole job was literally KILLING ORDINARIES. was scratching my head that he was genuinely the love interest and the further progression of their relationship just had me so exasperated that i had to drop it around 30% i think
I clicked so fast! 💗 hope youre back to 100% soon girlie. If I could have anything in the world it be for Ms Hazelwood to continue on this world she created in Bride.
Omg yes I also have trouble with fantasy romance sometimes! Some fantasy romances these days are so smut heavy I’m like wait but what about the actual world!?😂
Some of my faves were A tempest of tea, Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi, The Immortal part of myself by MJ James, The invisible life of Addie Larue, Slay by Britney Morris, Bloodchild and other stories by Octavia E Butler, Moondust in my hairnet by JR Creaden, River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer, the Blueprint by Rae Giana Rashad, Greta & Valdin by Rebecca K Reilly and the Cure for Drowning. But best graphic novel by far was Heartstopper volume 5🫶🍵
I knew going in mostly what Magnolia Parks was about, but it was probably one of the worst books I’ve read lol Bride is one of my favorites this year. It was such a fun read. I loved it!
I am SO glad for your thoughts on Throne of the Fallen. I gave Kingdom of the Wicked and generous 3 stars, but it was more like a 4 in the beginning and it slid down to a 2 by the end. It was one if my biggest disappointments of the year. I cannot find a satisfactory summary of those books but I cannot bring myself to read books 2 and 3. Unfortunately, I had already purchased Throne of the Fallen - it was a complete cover buy. I knew nothing. I thought that I would have to sell it - but now I will give it a try! Wish my luck! (And if anyone knows of a good recap of the entire Kingdom series, please let me know as I am curious)
Best of 2024 So Far: Middlegame. Hands down. It's living rent-free in my head, and I don't mind. Best Sequel: I have to say both Harrow the Ninth and Nona the Ninth. I absolutely loved both of them, and they just blew my mind and left me feeling confused but satisfied, and desperate for Alecto to come out. New Release Want to Read: "Tidal Creatures". Even if the plot isn't as good as Middlegame, McGuire has some of the most stunning writing. Most Anticipated Release: Ashley Poston's "A Novel Love Story" (June 25th) and Xiran Jay Zhao's "Heavenly Tyrant" (when a release date is finally decided on..." Biggest Disappointment: Faebound by Saara El-Arifi. I was so excited, but it was kind of a mess.... Biggest Surprise: Every actual romance I've read, because as someone on the Ace spectrum I'm not a romance girlie but I've LOVED "The Dead Romantics" and "The Seven Year Slip" by Ashley Poston, "Honey & Spice" by Bolu Babalola, and "Delilah Green Doesn't Care" by Ashley Herring Blake. Favorite New Author: Ashley Poston Newest Crush: Kikiola and Malakai from "Honey & Spice." Newest Fave Character: Veronica Speedwell, because god that woman is amazing. Made You Cry: "Night of the Dragon" by Julie Kagawa (this ending broke me a bit), and ALMOST "The Dead Romantics." Made You Happy: The Tea Dragon Society graphic novels. So cute, sweet, and just everything. Most Beautiful: S.T. Gibson's "Evocation," or "The Pumpkin Spice Care" (because the original cover is just autumnal and beautiful) Need to Read by EoY: ...my entire TBR.
My favorite non so far i would say is Scarlet Alchemist 😍 I have several challenges i made for myself that I really need to work on in the second half of the year💀
talking about the magnolia parks series btw its: magnolia parks daisy haites magnolia parks-the long way home daisy haites- the great undoing magnolia parks- into the dark
Hello! I am not sure if you will see this but I am giving it a shot. I love your videos and your channel. I saw that you mentioned Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez. I read it and it truly is amazing. I think you also mentioned that you haven’t read the other books in the series-please correct me if I am wrong. But, after reading all three books in the Part of Your World universe, I would recommend that you read them in order. Just for the Summer won’t hit as hard if you read them out of order. I wish someone had told me before I read them so I try to tell as many people as I can. They were still amazing, but that’s something I wish I would’ve done. Just wanted to mention it incase you see this.
☕️☕️☕️ The best book of 2024 I have a few of them one of them that are my favortie Still beating by Jennifer Hartmann this book I couldn't put down it was so good and emotional, the entire chestnut spring series that whole series had mi kicking my feet n giggling like I fell in love with the characters n I love elsie silvers writing The best sequel I have read magnolia parks like I flew through these series ima need the next daisy haites book 😂😂 like I must know wah happens lol And the books I wanna read before the end of this year is the boys of tommen series I wanna read this series so bad 😂😂 it sounds good And I recently read flowers in the attic by v.c Andrew's n this book was just wired like I don't know if I hate it or like it cuz I know it's a movie also but I never seen it I only read the book but this one made mi question my reading choices 😂😂 lol and I did read a few Mangas I read island in a puddle vols 1 to 3 n I love this manga so far there's 5 in the series n I also read the first 7 volumes of blood on the tracks
You describing Powerless made me lose so much faith in humanity. Holy shit that is the most generic dystopian romance I have ever heard. "Ordinaries" COME ON WERE YOU EVEN TRYING

I clicked so fast! 💗 hope youre back to 100% soon girlie. If I could have anything in the world it be for Ms Hazelwood to continue on this world she created in Bride.
I highly recommend reading Part of Your World before diving into Just for The Summer!! The third act conflict connects with the first book so well.
Also since you enjoyed Vera Wong, you might enjoy Nosy Neighbours by Freya Sampson!! 🌸
Yes! It actually made me very nervous for her to read it first without having read the other two!
Omg yes I also have trouble with fantasy romance sometimes! Some fantasy romances these days are so smut heavy I’m like wait but what about the actual world!?😂
