But the difference between you and them, is you're playing mostly for fun and not for speed and it really shows in your playstyle. On a side note you both made me a much better player at Doom than I ever was playing 2016 and Eternal on nightmare by myself. So thanks also for that.

*Disclaimer, talk about my experience with the console version, the PC version is way, WAY easier in every way.* My gosh, finished my UN run today and I'm so glad. Imma be real, I never want to do an Ultra Nightmare run ever again (atleast in this DLC.) I liked the DLC, but nearly all arenas were to small for like 3 barons, a doom hunter, two tyrants, 3 whiplashes, a pinky, 20.000 imps, a blood maykr and more shit. For example, I died like 20 times in the fog section with the buffed arachnotron, or the dog section, if you beat the fight with low health, you'll die from the toxic gas no matter what. Overall level 2 was the worst, I never want to see those exploding bubble things ever again. For the skin, it looks fooking amazing and I'm glad it's compatible with the new animations, it's definitely the hardest one to get and the biggest flex once you have it. You know, I beat UN in the base game, thought it was pretty though, but holy damn it felt like rookie mode compared to this UN, I got my ass beat in 20 different forms. I hope they fix some problems and balance others. I'm looking forward to the next DLC. You sir are a legend, I thought your base game UN run was nice, but this is something else, keep it up!

Just completed the UN runs and this one was 100% the hardest, it feels such an accomplishment to do it with a controller for sure, you were my inspiration dude! I didn't use the quickswitch tool tough, just regular very fast and memorized switching hahaha

I’m using a Joyshockmapper which allows the controller to use keyboard inputs. Weapons are binded to face buttons and dpad when R2 is held. X = plasma , square = rocket etc. There’s a link bottom of description for more info. Thank you!
Why do you swap the triggers with the bumpers?? Either way, very smart to put jump on a shoulder button and the dash on a stick button instead of the terrible default setup I bet you'd absolutely love the ds4 back button attachment. It especially helps with doom eternal. I have grenade and melee on mine
Bumpers have less tension and are easier to press, but its preference really. I've tried out the back button, but I had to change my grip which led to discomfort. Definitely not a fan anymore lol
I played it mainly with the Xbox One Elite controller. Lately I've been playing via streaming with a standard controller, and it's a completely different experience. I ended up making a separate save on Ultraviolence for streaming to make the latency and lack of paddles less frustrating.

Nice! I normally play ps4, I've made an exception for Doom to play on pc. I use geforce experience overlay for pc, but for recording ps4 gameplay I use elgato HD60 Pro. Have fun with it!
Appreciate it. Having a decent amount of fps knowledge from any other fps game (cod, battlefield) is fundamental towards developing your aim. As for movement, binding jump (mines L2) somewhere so you don't have to take your thumb off of the right stick is important. Jumping as soon as you hit the ground from great heights carries momentum which is great for repositioning. Play around with meathook swinging.. yeah

I'm in awe of your gameplay, I'm also quite pleased with myself because my controller setup is very similar to yours, so I must be doing something right! The 4 face buttons for the actions that don't require precision aiming, the bare minimum on the Dpad so my thumb stays on the left stick. Only major difference is I have jump/dash on the L3/R3 buttons respectively. I'm nowhere near your level but this gives me hope that maybe one day I'll be ready for UN!
On the Buffed marauder encounter, I accidentally killed him with the BFG on UV. It was one of the most epic moments in gaming for me personally. It will take a lot of practice to be able to make that consistently work though.

Would be nice to see a tutorial of this. The game play style is way too advanced pulling off double hit and triple hit combos in mid air and momentum swings. There are lots of things going on with they key mapping strategies for such fluid mechanics playing the game. I can't wait to see Doom Eternal Running on a PS5. Besides this game deserves a lot of chapters and Doom Eternal 2 if possible This game revolutionized the FPS genre completely. And I want to have the Gauss cannon back. A weapon pack of previous games for Doom eternal would be great.
Understandable that you'd use the button mapper on PC. It feels a tad disappointing for the PS4 viewership though, your weapon wheel management was a huge part of what made your previous doom vids so impressive. At least that's how I feel about it D: UN these levels with a pad is still incredible though... obviously

Working on beating extra lives mode without losing any right now, its nice to know another controller player was able to do this!

Did you stun him first with another weapon? Because I find that tends to help, as opposed to just trying to time it with his eye-glow.
