- Atlanta rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, faces multiple charges under Georgia's RICO Act. Williams, believed to be the leader of the YSL collective, supposedly operated a "criminal street gang" from outside his residence. Williams faces eight charges in a 65-count indictment. These charges include drug possession, possession with intent to distribute, and participating in criminal gang activity as an individual employed by a criminal street gang. Opening statements will take place on November 27.

This is so frustrating to watch I can’t imagine the jurors. Never starts on time, comfort breaks turn into whenever. This jury is giving their time and I would think starting on time and having them waiting wouldn’t be going on. Of course lots of attorneys and maybe that’s why. Idk.

If I ever face serious criminal charges then I pray that I get state prosecutors like we have in this case.
Rewriting the guide on how to self sabotage your case and invent new grounds to appeal that should and would otherwise not exist. Looking scatty and out of their depth, careless mistake after mistake.

It happened to my son Cordarius. They kept calling him YSL Polo, and he has never been affiliated with YSL. They drug him for 9 months with this trial and kept him in that deplorable Fulton County Jail!!

These people must have an excellent memory. With all the people they stop over the years and lab testing they've done, they seem to remember these one incidences in detail. Even if they're looking at a report or statement...there's a lot that goes on in 10 years.
The prosecution team will prep their witnesses beforehand with their previous statements/paperwork to help coach and refresh their memory.
They review the paperwork the days before they need to testify. Detective Casey in the Waukesha Parade trial explained that he had seen Brooks, sorry, McBoyFly's rap video three times, the last one the day before, I think.

Am I misunderstanding something with the fact that the judge needs to explain to the jury what the legal definition is for conspiracy? The defense requested that it be explained and prosecution objected ....then the judge says that if he feels that it is relevant at the end based on evidence, then he may do so ...isn't that exactly what the charges are that the defendant's are being accused of ...isn't that a main factor in RICO?! I'm not questioning if it should be done in the beginning or the end of the trial ...but wouldn't it be mandatory that the jury understands this factor? Again, am I missing something here?

Also bath salts & MDMA are a section 1 drug, 30+grams. Very shady. Defence did a good job bringing this to light. I'd have reasonable doubt already. If this started with shady stuff going on its obv they would keep that up throughout the investigation. Not the way this should be done. Huge questions.....

Anyone else feel that there has been nothing substantive added to the state’s case to date since trial started last week? Everything that has been discussed so far are crimes under Georgia law that already have been adjudicated either with jail time, probation, or both years ago. Trying to pin new charges of RICO act violations seems like double jeopardy which makes this case seem ridiculous.
I think they are laying the ground work to show criminal acts prior to this offence to show that it’s not a one off and that they are criminals.

It's just started. This could go for months if 400 witnesses are actually called to the stand.

I'm under the impression that all are subject to the same rules of law, I've been told that Mr. Williams has been denied the privilege of making bond, although others with the same charges have, what makes this case so different?

The prosecution wants to set an example, I think, so they opposed the bond. And the judge rejected the bond. And that's all there is to it. As Judge Dorrow said to Darrel Brooks once, "the motion was granted because the motion was presented."@@user-gj3hc3hm9m
There are “associates” that haven’t been apprehended and since it’s a RICO case it is analogous to letting a mob boss out with his henchmen waiting for him to give them orders. I don’t agree with it but that’s the thinking behind denying him bail
