The lowers look good and are very functional. I keep them on mine year-round. They also make a great mount for extra speakers. I powder-coated my crash bar black. The crash bar now blends in nicely against the black lowers and bike. Thanks for posting your video.
Hey TT, Just installed a set of lower fairings on my 2008 Road King. You’re right, the lower clamps very difficult only because they’re not the right size for the bar or at least mine. So I had to improvise by just securing one of the clamp holes. Then tightening the clamp on the bar. Turned out great. Thanks for the video. And you have a Blessed Day!! Benjamin
Good video! I have a 17 Roadglide special, I had lowers added when I bought the bike, I chose to add speakers in the compartments. Have no problem hearing tunes at highway speeds..
awesome! so handy on a touring bike. in florida, we dont deal with much cold (that 2 weeks of frigid 50 degree winter, was brutal this year), but we do get rain. I am told that the lowers actually direct more wind towards the bike in the summer as well. we shall see...
Lowers look good. You will definitely like them in the rain, thats for sure. Yeah I agree with the other commentor talking about using rubber versus the foam. Cut up a old bike tube and use that as a spacer for metal to metal, it should last longer.
Just a FYI not sure if you have them or not but I have the exact lowers as you on my SG. I got the H-D lower fairing inserts and they fit perfectly. Gives it a nice soft interior and looks better when opened.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I never thought to install lowers. Figure I’d just suffer in the cold, which kind of sucks. This is a better option than wearing heavier or more cloths.
Bought some for my 18 RGS but haven't put them on. Was told because I'm not also liquid cooled like the M8 HD Ultra I could over heat. I'll probably wait till this fall.
@@TravelingTall The 2017 Milwaukee 8s that are water cooled are as follows. Tri Glide Ultra CVO Limited CVO Street Glide Ultra Limited Ultra Limited Low Road Glide Ultra. I've heard for rider comfort to reduce engine heat & what I told you earlier. I put a digital temp / fluid level dip stick. I'm just cautiously wanting to reduce engine wear & heat.
2017-2019 M8 Ultra Classic does not have a radiator it has an oil cooler like ours but its not liquid cooled. Ask your dealer, be sure to say Classic the limited is liquid cooled. Put them on you'll love them. www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/motorcycles/2019/touring/electra-glide-ultra-classic/detailed-specs-and-pricing.html
I have these on my 17 SGS .. not only do they look good but they function well. I do ride all year round.. I close them however when it rains .. sadly I lose the function of the right compartment due to my large cone air cleaner also from HD
@@TravelingTall thanks for the response. I been riding since I was a kid. Bought my first Harley a year ago this month. I do enjoy your videos, keep up the good work. 😊
Bike looks great with those!!! Gives it a Cleaner look instead of the naked crash bars. Me being a music lover, I would put some Speakers in there even though Harleys have Good Systems.
Best DIY addition you can make to the scoot. They help in the cold and definitely cut down on heavy air flow. Remember to keep vents open when it's 60 degrees or hotter.
I think so too. The Streetglide has a futuristic look and they complete the look, also at 80mph your hiding behind the fairing wind blast but feel full blast on your legs which is weird, the lowers balance everything out, the look and the feel, plus they have vents for low speed riding.
Hey Tall, great videos BTW, certainly enjoy watching! I’m looking to also install the lowers, and see that Amazon has the best price for them in Vivid Black. How do u feel about their quality now and paint condition now that you e traveled many more miles? Your response determines whether or not I go with Advanblack or Amazons version. Thanks in advance!
Man, I just ordered a tour pack & lowers from Harley ONLY because of the color of my bike, which is WICKED DENIM RED, so I got broken off $$ properly. The pros & cons of vivid black, you can pretty much buy off the rack. I was contemplating eventually adding speakers to my lowers. Again, Harley is standing by to assist. Would you happen to know, aside from Harley a company that sells speaker pods not at the Harley price? If so, please let me know at your earliest, until then, RIDE SAFE BRO!!!
I haven't tried any of these to say how good they are, I just wanted to share the link with you because I came across some during my search. amzn.to/2HpHiPv amzn.to/30jvSnC amzn.to/2Yuc67d
Great video. I really have a similar question below as well. Do you really have to remove highway pegs or can you work around them and install lowers anyway ?
After I put my lowers on, I found myself riding faster than I did before. I think the reduction in air pressure makes it feel like you’re riding slower than you are until you look at the speedo.
Traveling Tall, Are you sure there is no difference in the color? reason I ask, I recently bought some cheap heat deflectors from TCMT and had to return them because when the sun was out, the color was different. It was like grayish black instead of true Vivid black. let me know cause I'm about to jump on those if it is as good as you claim.
When are yall getting on the road and heading west?? I can't remember, (I'll have to look) but have you or are you thinking about a "mapping out the ride" video?
Hey tall, how are these holding up? Debating on these but don’t want to waste the money if they aren’t good. Do you notice any increased heat in the summer even with the vents open?
Hey Tall I have a ‘17 street glide special. I heard installing lowers on the bike may cause it to over heat because it’s not getting air to the engine to keep it cool. Is there any truth in this?
Being honest, I think the bike looked much better without the lowers. But, as long as you are happy, that's what's important!
The lowers look good and are very functional. I keep them on mine year-round. They also make a great mount for extra speakers. I powder-coated my crash bar black. The crash bar now blends in nicely against the black lowers and bike. Thanks for posting your video.
They look good. Please update us in a month or so and let us know how they hold up and how you like them, ride quality etc.
When I bought my street glide there was a vivid black street glide with lowers and it looked really good.
Looks great TT! Really gives it that CVO look for a fraction of the price. I put the same ones on my 12 SG and was very happy with them.
Hey TT,

Nice I think you will like them I think they add just a little more stability
TT, You produce some very helpful and relevant videos. Thank you.

Great video. I just got mine and watched your video before installing mine. You will make it much easier for me.
Just a FYI not sure if you have them or not but I have the exact lowers as you on my SG. I got the H-D lower fairing inserts and they fit perfectly. Gives it a nice soft interior and looks better when opened.
Wow. Really? I’ll have to look into that. How much are the inserts?
Look like the same ones I have on the way, thanks for the video helps me chill out knowing what’s to come and how they really look.
Watching this video a little late. This is my next upgrade so thank you sir.
Great Step by Step Instructions, Brother.
Just what I needed to know in order to install my lower fairings. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾*
Those will come in handy on your ride out to CA.
That's exactly why I bought them. Thanks for watching Walt.

Nice video, I have a 2018 Road Glide. I been debating on adding lowers. Yours look pretty good so I might just go ahead and order them.
I like them a lot, good place to put your stuff that you need quickly. Thanks for watching.

Lookin good....tour pack next? Might make that long trip a little easier to pack for....
Stay tuned, you just might see one :) Thanks for watching.

Try helmet Bluetooth. You get better sound and dont have to disturb everyone around you.

Looks good iam a firm believer in the lowers. Plus it gives your bike a great look. Ride Safe.
Outstanding job, looks good...you did better than a Harley mechanic! 😁👍🏾
Thanks, thanks for watching.
They look great bro; great idea using the foam strip. Have some lowers for my '15 SGS but have to paint them Charcoal Pearl first.
How much did it cost to get them painted? I have the same color on my bike.
The lowers look fantastic! 👍

Very nice i like the new accessory to the bike bro .keep up the good work God bless
Thank you, have a blessed day.
Hi TT I've got lowers on my chieftain and I think there great!!!
good video
Thanx Mark
Thanks Mark
Nice addition!
I had them on my ultra they will burn you up in the summer but are great in the rain or cold weather
I'm about to install the same thing on my bike. Do you really have to remove highway pegs or does it just make it easier?
How hot are they in the summer? They look great.
Great job thanks for the video! I want to add these on my Road King. :)

Adavan Black, their color match is perfect
Gonna do the same with mine this summer
You'll love them, thanks for watching.
How much do they change the wind around you?
Any difference in wind protection between these and the soft lower?
Did you notice any less wind buffet with them
Great Video Looking Good 👌🏽👍🏿
Thanks Victor.
Excellent video, I'll be doing mine rt now👍
Did this help with head wobble? I'm struggling with it and windshield is great
Assume these won’t fit if you have the 90 degree Screamin Eagle intake?
Looks real good thanks
Wonder if this will fit a 19 sgs?

Looks good! Any thoughts of upgrading the rear shocks for a smoother ride?
Will these fit the 2020 Harley Road Glide Special
How have the lowers held up?
Good vid TT, Ok I have to say it, why didn't you just get an Ultra??
Should put some blue loctite on those clamp bolts/nuts
Does your bike run any hotter in the summer? I am in NC so pretty comparable in temp to where you’re at
When are yall getting on the road and heading west?? I can't remember, (I'll have to look) but have you or are you thinking about a "mapping out the ride" video?
Pretty soon. I need to do a couple more things to my bike before I go. Thanks for watching.
Did they come assembled?
Just Came Across Your Channel, I Love It, Definitely Subscribed. How Old Were You When You Got Your First Harley? You Know Your Stuff !
Hey Traveling Tall. I’m about yours size, I’m thinking about to buy Harley RoadGlide what setup got you to ride comfortably?
Quick and easy!
Hey Tall....how are the painted lowers holding up a year later? Still worth the $$ or better off spending more on higher quality lowers? Thanks
Hey tall, how are these holding up? Debating on these but don’t want to waste the money if they aren’t good. Do you notice any increased heat in the summer even with the vents open?
The bike looks good with them on. What brand are those ?
So how are they holding up..??
I’m thinking about getting a pair..
Hey Tall I have a ‘17 street glide special. I heard installing lowers on the bike may cause it to over heat because it’s not getting air to the engine to keep it cool. Is there any truth in this?
Do they come in flat black?
Styrofoam probably won't last. Try cutting a strip of old inner tube.
Thanks, that's a good idea. I'l have to change it.
I'm in Wisconsin and the weather unpredictably I have lowers on my bike and one you get used to em youu can't ever ride with out them
I like them a lot I dont think Ill ever take them off either. Thanks for watching.
Gives the bike a more aggressive stand.
Looking at the pictures before, kind of makes the bike looks more finished with the lowers.
What brand our the lowers
What brand are those
How would you do it with the speakers?
Speakers? Incert them into the garbage.
I’ll be interested to see how these hold up in time. The reviews are mixed on their quality. Did you look at the AdvanBlack ones?
Where did u get them from and how much ?really nice upgrade
I put a link in the description they where really inexpensive. Thanks for watching.
you should have just bought an ultra with tour pack delete, and you would have already had your lowers and bag guards for less.
